TL;DR: After improving on the previous entry and focusing on its strengths, my "delusion" turned out to be quite positive. Before I start, please keep in mind that this game is a sequel to the events of Chaos;Head Noah. While I do believe it is possible to jump straight into this one, it's quite clear that the overall experience benefits greatly from reading its predecessor first. When I finished Chaos;Head Noah, I approached it the same way I do with most of the media I consume: as blindly as possible. I feel that doing so makes the overall experience more honest, keeps my expectations in check, and allows me to simply enjoy the ride. In the end, however, I was left with a rather mixed bag of emotions. There were some really good moments here and there, the unique atmosphere and storytelling were compelling enough, and I was hooked for good stretches of time, but there were also quite a few points that took me out of the experience. By the time I finished, I wasn't entirely happy with it or convinced that the read had been fully worth it. As a result, I waited more than a year before giving Chaos;Child a chance... and in the end, that wait was absolutely worth it. I had the perfect balance of remembering some important plot points while still feeling like I was experiencing something completely new, and it paid off. Most of the things I complained about in the previous entry were definitely addressed here. The story and plot are much more focused, which helped me stay engaged throughout each chapter. The game constantly kept me intrigued and guessing about what was going on, and the unique mechanics of the series were also improved. However, the biggest upgrade for me was the cast of characters. Compared to the previous entry, I found myself caring about and enjoying every single one of them. Whenever something good or bad happened (don't worry, no spoilers), it genuinely hit me and made me feel something, rather than simply thinking, "Damn, that sucks, I guess..." The only real drawback of Chaos;Child is something that Chaos;Head Noah also suffered from: the villain... or villains... something like that, haha. They were quite uneventful compared to the excellent buildup the plot had going for it, and it felt like the story needed to put someone there rather than creating genuinely engaging antagonists who tied everything together. Still, that's about it, and it never got in the way of my enjoyment. In the end, I'm really happy that I got to experience such a great visual novel. As I was reading the final lines and looking at the last CG, I couldn't hide the big, satisfied smile on my face. So, was it worth it? Absolutely! I definitely think you should give it a chance.

Mixed rating This game is really bloated and drags out (in a bad way) The first game was shorter but it had way better and way more "terrifying" writing. I also didn't like the true end; super inconclusive. The character art is good and characters have some more depth but the side stories are only okay. Like I read through all of it but I wasn't really blown away or anything... it's just really mid. I
I can write it now, wishing upon the swaying wind bell, Farewell, my dearly beloved — may you stay forever happy.
Great game
the majority of the story is straight ass im not going to lie it did not have to drag on that long at all
yippeee!!!!
