Funny, engaging, charming and heartwarming are the words that come to mind after finishing the game. It really strikes the balance between fresh and educational and tonight I will go to bed a bit smarter, a bit wiser. - This review is 100% genuine. The user is DEFINITELY not under the charm of a vampire that lives out his life long dream of being a mysterious and well educated professor.
It's a lovely game! While I don't have an interest in economics whatsoever, I am still able to enjoy the game, and even learn something. I do however, have a couple of notes in-terms of UX: 1. The cursor disappears during a dialog. At least the first time it happens, it leads you to wonder what happened. I get the idea, but I'd prefer it if it didn't. 2. There doesn't seem to be a way to go back to the previous part of the conversation, if you accidentally clicked forward before you finished reading it. 3. You can't seem to be able to stop playing in the middle of a conversation as the mouse is the cursor is not there. I haven't tried with the Escape button, which leads me to the following: 4. It would be nice if there is keymap screen in settings. Even if it doesn't allow you to remap keys, to at least allow you to see what's available to you in terms of controls. I get that you mostly (or maybe exclusively) need the left mouse click and that's it, but perhaps a button to advance the dialogue forward, a button to go back to the previous dialog, maybe another button to bring up the menu (that's also usable during conversation). Ideally, you should be able to move the dialogue forward with either the mouse or keyboard, without having to map just one or the other. I.e. perhaps as an alternative input mapped by default. Like LMB / Enter, RMB / Backspace..
