honestly a great game, a little on the clunky side, but it's a small dev team, which is understandable the concept is really good, you can get to fighting faster without having trash mobs and dealing with inventory management like other games then there's immediate on-demand QoL that other games just... seemingly refuse to implement, like free/easy respecs, build loadouts, dps/heal/incoming damage meters, freaking TRAINING DUMMIES OUT THE BUTTTTT THE MINUTE YOU SHOW UP which is insanely amazing amazingly consumer-focused there, but lacking in other areas, like some visual notifications (there's a boss that links two allies together to deal damage, and you need to run from each other..... but there's.... not even a visual link to each other, you just kinda have to know what to do) and then descriptions on skills/mechanics, but it's also not even an english dev team, so, i'd say they've done well enough the devs are also super nice, responsive, helpful, and listening to feedback as much as they can for the price, it has the content, so i'm still upvoting it despite some downsides like the janky controls/audio/animations
This game is 100% what it advertises, If you're a fan of Boss battles in MMORPG's but hate the time commitment most of the games require this is the game for you. It's definitely still early and at the time of this review only has 1 class but the variety of the one class leads to a lot of ways to approach each boss. There is a lot of on the fly build changes to solve each problem. Without a doubt a very good time for a small group of friends who enjoy MMORPG Raids and Dungeons.
Date of review: 25.03.2021 Please note, that this game is in a very early state, so bug may happen and many aspects of the game might be subject to change. Cellyon: Boss Confrontation is the dream of all MMORPG raiders who don't want to commit to a large scale MMORPG like WoW or FFXIV or static parties on a schedule but are still looking for a challenge and the fun of party play. Instead of raiding with 8 to 25 people, you just form a party of 4 and try to kill bosses on different difficulty levels. From "Easy" to "Mythic", there's something for everyone, so you don't need to be a 99% parser to get into the fights. There's no real leveling of multiple classes besides talent levels for your character. As you level up, you gain access to more skill patterns / combos / passives / ultimate skills (elites) and so on so you don't feel overwhelmed when starting the game. Right now, there's only one class that can be customized to play as a tank, healer, damage dealer or hybrid class. The choice and imagination is up to you. Try to find the perfect solution for every situation. For an Early Access title, the game does quite a good job in introducing you to the hud, skills and mechanics. It even has an ingame threat, damage and heal meter for you to improve your gameplay. Finding other people for your party might be difficult though, as the community is still quite small. The dev team focusses on improving the game, fixing bugs and creating more content for you before they go into advertising it. Content overview (25.03.2021): - 3 bosses on different difficulty levels (Easy, Normal, Hard, Mythic, Mythic+ with different affixes to make your own challenge) - 3 different game modes (Normal (like above) / Hunt (Daily Challenges) / Rift (PvPvE) - 1 class (Hematomancer) which can take on different roles (tank, healer, dps, hybrid). More classes are coming with later updates - Character customization via talent levels and cosmetics that you unlock by playing the game and beating bosses - Highlight of the game: Boss Maker This game will live with its community. The boss maker allows you to create your own boss fights using the ingame assets and many scripted nodes. It's hard to get used to it but if you get the hang of it, you'll be able to make even more challenging content for the community. The editor still needs to be fleshed out, but give them time and this tool might get as good as the Warcraft III Editor. It is also planned to further improve the editor to allow creating custom classes. But this is a long term goal. Pros: + Easy to learn, hard to master + Nice art style / graphics + Raid feeling à la WoW but with 4 people + Different difficulties for the boss fight + Character customization / cosmetics + Tutorial + Nice dev team Cons: - Lagging content in terms of class and boss variety - Animations might not be fleshed out - Sound effects not fleshed out - Editor hard to use - No workshop support, yet - maybe later? ;) TLDR: Good game with very high potential. If you want to raid with 4 people, come get it. Even in its early stage it's already quite good. Please join their discord server to help the dev team with finding bugs and making the game even better.
BEFORE YOU PURCHASE. I bought this a long time ago. I have 3 hours but that's because I keep signing on and then feel disappointed as I love the vision for the game. But let me give you a few grievances before you purchase. Been at least or over a year. Game still looks like early alpha despite 0.9 patch numbers? -Boss defeat doesn't record progress. Stuck with the same 2 bosses -Each difficulty of the boss is just a different boss fight against the same assets. Not really added in mechanics or more grandious of the same fight. -I have not once been able to party with someone -Content locked due to still in development continuously -everything visually and graphically is to be desired by a long shot. Though I do like what they are doing with telegraphs at times -No real challenge. But then again can't unlock any more bosses -EVERY HIT AGAINST ALLY OR ENEMY IS THE SAME TINY BAP SOUND -Why do I have to redo the tutorial every few months when I want to check on progress? -There is a lot to put here, but I think you get the jist Pros -They've cleaned up the skill system a fair bit -Love the vision they have Overall 2 out of 10 2 for vision and the rest for the execution just isn't happening.
Gonna have to say no on this.... Appears to have no in game group finding feature (or no one is online). The english LFG in discord has the most recent post from 2021 a year ago... last sneak peek was also from over a year ago... There is no gear to earn only cosmetics and ability builds which is sort of a let down. I then realized the last update link from the discord was ver 9.9 and then also realized this has gone full release. I get the game needs a community to play but the game seems like you really need a community or friends willing to play. I do not have people who will just play games with me.
Jeu offert suite au Live "Jeux Made In France".
