I’m extremely frustrated with this game. I've lost all my progress three times, despite pouring in 1,807 hours. After coming back from vacation, I found that my progress had reset yet again. This experience has been really disappointing, and I cannot recommend this game.
Time invested does not equal enjoyment spent playing. Don't get me wrong, I've sunk countless hours into playing this game back before the most recent update that re-balanced how the game functioned. It stopped being fun once I continously had to leave the game running for months at a time before progression was even possible and new achievements were added that didn't feel balanced (birds rework anyone? It took me ages to earn 1000 birds because the currency amount was exorbant) I originally thought this was going to be a fun, relaxing, idler where as I progressed I would earn different things until I eventually hit the end of the game. What I didn't realise getting into it was that it would require multiple mundane resets to continue earning the currency just to reach enough to be able to possibly update the attributes chamber enough to progress further. Even the Beyong Simulation feels dry and repetitive and you're stuck for weeks (if not months) at a time trying to earn enough stardust just to progress. You can optionally pay to purchase boons and other premium currency for upgrades but that optional feeling soon becomes mandatory in the late game. If you don't do it the rate at which you earn anything is so slow there's not even a point to playing. You can repeat events if as there's something that works off badges you've earned but the issue with those is that they're the same few events on rotation. Those are also pay to win if you want to earn more than the 1st level badge and the payout for the events (as many users in the discussions have said) seems rigged. You'll be in the top 50 (or even top 10) with 10 minutes left and then the event suddenly ends and you've been bumped down to the top 500. I also learned this game is actually another mobile port which I didn't realise upon picking it up. Which explains the plethroa of microtransactions and pay to win engagement style. Also - be warned that this game does not save to the steam cloud, nor does it back up to its own cloud saves through signing in unless you manually tell it to every so often. Even with your account linked it does not save your progress. Multiple people on the forums have lost all their progression due to the save being local only!! I'm going to be finishing off the final 4 achievements I have left and hopefully new ones won't be added to steam.

Great game when it first came out as a web game. Then the developer made the progress incredibly slow until you pay. Basically pay to win now.
2231小时 感觉浪费了,在网吧玩了俩天这个游戏 结果存档被重置了。真TM艹
Extremely addictive. Not in the good sense. The worst part of mobile gaming brought to Steam. For your own sake do no install.
it very gut I don't usually write long reviews, but Cell to Singularity genuinely deserves one. When I downloaded this game, I expected a simple idle clicker to pass the time. What I got instead was one of the most surprisingly educational and memorable games I've ever played on Steam. The biggest thing this game gave me wasn't entertainment—it was curiosity. I've always found science interesting, but Cell to Singularity made me want to actually learn. Watching life evolve from a single cell into complex organisms, exploring dinosaurs, human evolution, astronomy, and the future of civilization made me realize how connected everything is. It doesn't just throw facts at you; it presents them in a way that makes you want to know what comes next. More than once, I paused the game just to Google something because I wanted to understand it better. The developers managed something that's incredibly difficult: they made learning feel rewarding instead of feeling like homework. Every new branch of the evolution tree felt like opening another chapter of a fascinating science book. Even after hours of playing, I kept discovering concepts I'd never heard of before. What I also appreciate is the atmosphere. The music is peaceful, the visuals are beautiful, and progression feels relaxing rather than stressful. It's a game I can play after a long day, yet it still leaves me feeling like I've gained something valuable. Very few games can honestly say they make you a little smarter. Is it perfect? No. Like every idle game, there are moments where progress slows down, and sometimes you'll be waiting for resources. But somehow it never bothered me much because the journey itself remained interesting. The educational content and sense of discovery kept pulling me back. As a kid, I found myself showing parts of it to my children and explaining evolution, space, and prehistoric life together. It sparked conversations that probably wouldn't have happened otherwise. Any game that can entertain adults while inspiring kids is doing something special. To the developers: thank you for proving that games can educate without becoming boring. You've created something that celebrates science, curiosity, and humanity's incredible story. I came for an idle game. I stayed because it reminded me how amazing the universe really is. 10/10 – One of the few games I'd recommend to both gamers and people who simply love learning.
Interesting concept and educational, with some strange ordering of features based on costs, at least the way I played it. The scaling is horribly designed to pretty much force you to pay to make progress at times. The side events are even worse. I'm still not exactly sure what all of the daily mutations I received actually did. Without paying it almost encourages you to only start it up once a day, doubling a day or more of resources while you were offline is definitely more economical than sitting there clicking the mouse while it doesn't even noticeably increase the rate you are earning those resources.
Too aggressive monetization - constantly something annoying on my screen. Game is decent otherwise, but unless you plan on dropping at least 10+ $ every month for this garbage just find one of the many great options for incrementals that don't bully you for your money.
This is a really interesting click idler, but unfortunately the progress is far too slow unless you pay to boost. If they went the route of NGU, i'd be more inclined to pay for stuff. It's just the slowest idler i've ever played unless you pay for the boosts. If you like idlers, avoid this until they revamp the monetization. There are better idlers which aren't so greedy.
