Cecconoid is an 8-bit inspired, flick-screen, twin-stick-shooter, set in an alternate dimension where the pixels are still chunky, and the bad guys are black and white. Except for their red dangly bits...

After some years of owning this i decided to give it a good crack. It turned out to be really entertaining. I made a map for myself and have added it and a small guide and stuck it on the guides section in steam. It seems hard but you end up speed running the early bit of the game with moderate success if your careful. I guess it kept me coming back for one more go. Its very retro and pretty hard to begin with but i think if you like this sort of game i'd stick with it. When the pace picks up after some confidence on familiar screens its fast paced and alot of fun.
This game's hard. Real hard. Old school design with modern influences and if you get it, you get it. If you've never heard of the 8-bit computers of the 80's, this may not be for you. But it absolutely deserves a positive review, tons of love here.
This game is way harder than it needs to be. The pixellated visuals look great, but most of the time you can't see where the enemy bullets are. The movement is incredibly slow too even with the power ups you collect during gameplay. As for the arcade mode Eugatron, it is equally as difficult. Numerous enemies swarm you easily and bullets again are way too challenging to see and avoid. A disappointing, boring and challenging twin stick shooter experience.

My itch to play Robotron 2084 is being scratched by this game, and it feels really good.
I really like this. Cecconoid is pretty slick - looks retro-great with some nice amped up particle effects and the crt filter is authentic. The levels are challenging, well designed and I enjoy the twin stick firing mechanism. The bonus Robotron-style game is very fun, too! For the price, I think it's a steal & hope the developer goes on to create more like this.
ENGLISH: This game draws inspiration from the classics of yesteryears, those we used to enjoy on old 8-bit computers, evoking a sense of nostalgia. However, it stands out for its music, which brings a more modern and fresh touch, adding a new dimension to the experience. When you immerse yourself in the world that this bold experience offers, you encounter two exciting ways to play. You can opt for the typical approach of shooter games, maneuvering two joysticks to confront your enemies in "EUGATRON" mode. Alternatively, you can delve into the intriguing "CECCONOID" mode, where you'll navigate intricate mazes teeming with adversaries and traps. Here, you'll discover destructible capsules that conceal secrets and upgrades for your arsenal, introducing a strategic element to the action. The most distinctive feature of this game is its color palette, which remains consistent with two tones throughout. This minimalist visual style adds a unique atmosphere to the experience, making it even more captivating and harking back to the days when games were simple yet addictive. It's evident that Gareth Noyce has an undeniable passion for delivering highly polished games with great charisma. His approach somewhat reminds me of the times when a small British company called ULTIMATE PLAY THE GAME was taking its first steps in the world of 8-bit home computers, such as the SPECTRUM or the AMSTRAD.
I loved the Old Raf Cecco games , Cybernoid and Cybernoid 2 back on the ol Speccy days and this game is clearly influenced by those titles although not as colourful as the old games .. ( yes cybernoid was praised for its colourful palette on the Speccy back in the day ) Anyway this game pays fantastic homage to that particular genre of game and whats more it was less than a buck on a Deal, so whats not to like ? there is a bonus game which is a great little and very tricky delight . All in all id love to see this game get a sequel with some added colour and a few puzzles , heck id even pay a couple of Sheckles for it . Ballyhoo !!
NOTA: 7/10
The price of the game is OK. It has two games to play and they are both fun - one of them is like robotron and the other is Cecconoid and that's a great game for me! I would recommend it to anyone wanting a fast action arcade type game and the music is very good as well!
