Really cute fishing game, kinda pricey for $20 though so catch it if it's on sale for sure, I'd say maybe $10 for this. There's only one lake but there is quite a bit of different fish. Casting takes a bit to learn and it's sometimes awkward
Just like my fishing experience in real life: two hours on the lake and I didn't catch a single thing. This game would be good if it gave you any sort of direction at all. The only prompt I got at all was "the fish got away, reel in the line and try again" thanks so much.... I have redone the tutorial, which is 8 sentences about the controls and the only tip on technique is "keep tension in the line or it will rip" rip from being too slack??? There is plenty of feedback when the fish is hooked, with the rod bending and the controller vibrating I felt like I was actually in the back and forth with the hooked fish, but every time it ended with the fish getting away for an unknown reason. Controller vibrating vigorously and the rod bending too much, I let out line oops can't let out line or it just snaps and gets away. Ok fight it and reel it in harder nope line just snaps of course. Try to tire the fish out by keeping the line in a sweet spot between taught and slack, still SNAPS???????? Hundreds of hours in VR games and I just couldn't get this... very frustrating. The basic bait is free and you can't buy more because you have to sell a half dozen fish to even buy a single of the only other unlocked bait, and the others are all Locked and it doesn't say what unlocks them. Rowing around is pretty fun and the music is a nice touch, would be cool if you could load up a twitch stream or youtube in game I could see that being a perfect way to spend a couple hours straight. The fish diary looks really cool with the notes on how to FIND the fish and help you keep track of your catches (presumably) but when there's no help on how to actually play the game it's all pointless.
The first time I got here, I already was the one with the biggest rod

It's a fishing game set in a boat on a lake. Of course it's calming, but honestly a tad boring.
