Pixels Retro Fun
Cataegis: The White Wind is a retro-styled action platformer developed by Acido Cinza and published by KISS Ltd that blends classic side-scrolling gameplay with science-fiction storytelling and demanding arcade-inspired combat. Built with clear admiration for older generations of action games, it embraces a design philosophy centered around precision, movement mastery, and skill development rather than accessibility shortcuts or heavily guided progression. The result is a game that feels intentionally challenging while delivering a satisfying experience for players who enjoy learning mechanics through persistence and repetition. Set within a futuristic world threatened by powerful enemies and rising instability, players take control of Cataegis, a combat specialist tied to the Order of Caeliger. A mysterious figure named Ishtar becomes the central force behind an unfolding crisis that threatens humanity's future, pushing players into a dangerous mission filled with intense battles and hidden truths. The narrative itself does not dominate the experience, but it provides enough structure and intrigue to support progression while giving context to the world and its conflicts. One of the game's strongest features comes from how movement influences nearly every aspect of gameplay. Mobility feels central rather than optional. Players gain access to abilities such as double jumping and sliding that significantly affect both exploration and combat performance. Traversing environments becomes fast and fluid, rewarding players who understand positioning and momentum rather than relying entirely on offensive strength. Combat reinforces that emphasis on skill. Weapons feel like tools that complement movement rather than replace it. Success often depends on timing attacks properly, avoiding incoming damage, and learning how enemies behave under different conditions. The game gradually encourages players to become more efficient and confident through repeated encounters rather than simplifying challenges over time. The difficulty curve remains one of Cataegis: The White Wind's defining characteristics. This is not an experience built around instant gratification or effortless progression. Enemy encounters require attention. Hazardous areas punish mistakes. Later portions demand stronger familiarity with movement systems and attack patterns. Some sections may require multiple attempts before success arrives, but improvement consistently feels rewarding rather than arbitrary. Boss battles stand out particularly well because they showcase the strongest elements of the game's design philosophy. Larger encounters require precision and adaptation while demanding players make full use of mobility systems and combat mechanics. Victory feels satisfying because progression comes from mastery rather than inflated statistics or simplified mechanics. The visual presentation successfully captures a retro identity without feeling entirely trapped in the past. Pixel art environments and character designs create a nostalgic atmosphere while animation work and presentation help maintain a stronger sense of movement and energy. The science-fiction setting blends naturally with the retro style, creating an identity that feels distinct rather than simply imitating older games. The soundtrack contributes heavily toward maintaining momentum. Fast-paced gameplay benefits from energetic music, and Cataegis generally succeeds at matching audio direction to the intensity of action sequences. Combat feels more impactful because visual and audio presentation work together effectively. Replay value receives additional support through branching story elements and multiple endings. Player decisions influence progression outcomes, encouraging repeated playthroughs for players interested in uncovering alternate narrative possibilities. Additional unlockable content further rewards players willing to spend more time mastering the experience. The old-school philosophy naturally creates some limitations depending on player expectations. Those accustomed to modern accessibility features and highly forgiving progression systems may initially find the difficulty intimidating. The game expects patience and a willingness to improve through practice rather than immediate success. Certain areas also reveal the realities of independent game development. The project occasionally shows rougher edges compared to larger productions, but those moments rarely undermine the strongest aspects driving the experience. The core gameplay remains focused and mechanically satisfying enough to carry progression effectively. What ultimately helps Cataegis: The White Wind succeed is commitment. It understands the type of experience it wants to deliver and remains faithful to that identity throughout. Acido Cinza builds an action platformer that respects player growth and rewards determination rather than constantly lowering challenges. For players who appreciate classic action design, demanding combat systems, and retro-inspired platformers built around movement and precision, Cataegis: The White Wind delivers a rewarding experience that captures much of what made older arcade-style games memorable while adding enough personality to establish its own place within the genre. Rating: 6/10
Sometime, we d'ont really need to build a real house. The moment we see, feel and people we interact with is the only real one. Lets remind it bro, what left behind in your mind ? Its memory, just like a dream. And we choose those dream to decide what we are now, reason why we act like this either.
Could you help me to get some steam points? Here I'm will do everything you request!
По мне очень динамичная и не удобная в управлении игра Остальное норм. Чисто для любителей ретро игр, NES, Sega и прочего

Wack
At the beginning it was very frustrating because I had to adapt to a difficulty curve I was not used to, but after I got used to it, it turned out the game was very fun and satisfying to beat. The achievements bring an awesome replayability and if that's not enough for you there are around 32 endings if I'm not mistaken.
