About
Do you like psychedelic adventures where you collect cats, partake in mischievous shenanigans and be a jerk to NPCs? Well, this is the game for you!
Cat Powered UFO is a Comedy RPG inspired by old-school Super Nintendo games like Earthbound and Zelda.
Turn-based battles revolve around minigames, which are unique to each enemy.
There is also overworld combat, where you shoot giant purple plasma beams and dodge-roll around the screen.
Combat is easy to learn but offers surprising depth to players who purchase "Illegal bonuses".
You can combine these "Illegal bonuses" to create insanely powerful synergies. However, they are often double-edged swords with downsides that can change the game entirely.
The whole game is designed to be a short and sweet experience, taking 4-8 hours.
However, there is also a "True ending" for those who want to go above and beyond!
There is even a "HARDCORE MODE" for players who like their games to kick them in the scrotum and probably be impossible.
I recommend using an Xbox controller for the best experience. However, a keyboard also works perfectly well.
If you're looking for a whacky and light-hearted experience to fill your day, I humbly suggest you try Cat Powered UFO!
And with that, I leave you with a poem.
A poem, for you! My potential player!
Be yourself! As you always are!
My next request, is a bit out far.
You're an alien!
AN ALIEN?
You even have an Alien Wife!
Livin' that sweet Alien Life!
What more could you want?
Ok, let's say she's pregnant!
But no good thing can last for long!
THE SPACE DEVIL has come along!
He kidnaps your wife!
Causing you strife!
And so your adventure begins...
Your means of travel, powered by cats!
You look around, and how about that!
There isn't a cat to be seen or heard!
The solution, you know to be absurd...
To venture into a world you hate!
Full of mischief, I'll tell you mate!
This place is crazy!
Lost their minds!
No doubt you'll do the same in kind!
Strap yourself in!
Let us begin!
Embrace the madness that's within!
You'll laugh, you'll cry.
You'll probably die!
And yeet your keyboard to the sky!
But won't regret a dollar spent!
Cat Powered UFO!
Worth every cent!

This is a fantastic game, there's no question about it. It's fun from the first minute all the way to the end. I streamed this game for about 6 hours and never felt bored or tired for even a second. The specifics: Gameplay It's really difficult to explain Cat Powered UFO to someone who hasn't at least seen the trailer or something for context, so go do that. Basically, this game is chaos. One second you're in an intricate turn based combat battle with WarioWare minigames, the next you're running and gunning, the next you're racing somebody, etc etc. It just doesn't get old. Bugs? I never ran into gameplay bugs either, and with a game this size you'd expect there to be at least a handful of game-breaking things going on. There was an issue where multiple tracks were playing at the same time, but that can only really happen during the post-ending content because I was moving at neck breaking speeds through menus, teleporting, and challenging a boss multiple times. Battles: Every single encounter is unique in this game. As I stated previously, one second you're rolling around, the next you're doing some top down shooting, and then you're launching balls over a wall to hit an enemy. It's crazy, it's fun, and it's probably the most unique game to come out in a pretty long time. Music: It's excellent. There's some jazzy jazz happening sometimes and it gets you pumped. Graphics: Look at the trailer, either you like them or you don't but I love the look and feel. It all blends really nicely, especially when the psychadelics kick in. Story: Yes. It's an all round fun and funny game with a banger soundtrack
Quirky game with 'cat'-chy soundtrack.
Buy it now you jerk
i have committed countless atrocities for a sandwich.
Here are my thoughts on my initial gameplay: It's a really well made game, albeit rather trippy. I was playing on easy mode as I am a type of player who wants to enjoy and understand the game as it is before scaling up the difficulty. It gets really challenging and definitely requires a player's quick wits and reflexes. I would say this is 18+ only because of the jokes and some language, but it's not too bad. I only played this with an XBOX controller, and highly recommend everyone to do so as well. I am yet to try it with a PlayStation controller, so I'm not sure if it works. If you don't have a controller, it works with a keyboard as well but I would definitely recommend controllers. As a streamer, my only issue is that the game "minimizes" if I do Alt+Tab or click on a different window, but it's not major and could be dealt with. For players who are too particular on graphics, I would say this isn't for you. Not only does it have SEIZURE WARNING, but it's in pixel art with a very distinct art style which may not be for everyone. It's not an issue for me, though, as game play is pretty good in my opinion. Overall, I would highly recommend this game and definitely worth a try.
A fun and constantly entertaining short RPG. Nothing too deep, but plenty of enjoyment to be had from beginning to end. The battles have a big range of simple mini-games that keep it fresh.
A fun, funny and simple game. Buy it!
Great game with a great soundtrack, highly reccomend
One of the best games I played 2022. 10/10 would collect cats again.
