The speed you earn money is way too slow to make this even a viable game, even in easy mode. You're still on the 1st set of troops while the enemy is spawning the more powerful 3rd set.
Не рекомендую. a fun simple game, but needs to be rebalanced. The enemy always starts with more gold than you i assume. Every difficulty the enemy was able to spawn more buildings than me. I was just barely able to beat easy and normal, but hard seems impossible to beat. You also earn gold way to slow to really be able to put up a good fight. besides those issues, this game could be fun for a short while.
Castle Survival is a horizontal tower defense that feels like it's plucked from a collection of 90's flash games. Beyond its doodle art exterior lies a slightly buggy, somewhat RNG dependent race for survival against endless oncoming enemy forces. Lack of any tutorial demands trial by failure to figure out what to do. Unoptimized and unpolished, the incentive isn't there to sit this one through.
On starting a new game you're given a difficulty choice, though it matters little; Even on easy, you're in for a tough time. Your task is to build (as quickly as possible) unit-producing structures, beginning with booths and huts and graduating to sturdier structures. As the building cost increases, so does the unit strength. There are some passive upgrades available, as well as one of two perks per skill tree tier you can choose from. Should you focus on cheaper structures or save for more expensive ones? Or maybe you should fortify your base first via the very descriptive "update" button? The game certainly isn't going to tell you, so good unraveling it all. Typically, a tower defense game requires thought to be put into structure placement. Castle Survival, however, doesn't afford any such strategic benefit. Building to the left means a longer trip for your units, so there's no reason to diversify placement. Instead, dump every building to the rightmost side of your base so that units can rapidly head to the enemy ASAP. By the way, if you build too many structures, your framerate will slow to a crawl (and you'll earn a tongue-in-cheek achievement for doing so). There is no endgame to enjoy here. Whether you crush the enemy or survive as long as you can, the only option is to restart or attempt a higher difficulty. Nothing carries over between plays, and there is only a single stage. In short, save your money for a more robust TD game. There are plenty, such as Gemcraft and Kingdom Rush. This one lacks content, longevity, and the most important factor, fun. Achievement Hunters: See community guides for suggested build sequences. There are achievements for winning, losing, and producing units. The final one can be earned by stacking as many booths as you can to slow the game and unlock the final achievement. This can be performed win or loss, since you can continue placing units behind the popup. <1 hr to 100% Thank you bron99 for the donation.
the game is so unbalanced, it takes so long to earn money and the enemy team always get the upper hand as soon as the game starts, it’s impossible in hard and even harder in easy mode…not recommend at all just seems like an abandoned game, could’ve been something cool
Castle Survival is a simple retro/MS-Paint styled soldier/tower defense game that riffs off the "soldier tower" concept introduced in Kingdom Rush. Build small buildings that endlessly spawn soldiers which rush towards the enemies equal and opposite castle. This was slapped together lazily with GameMaker Studio, responsible for oh-so-much pure trash being dumped on Steam. It's great that this seems to be a genuine attempt to make a game. Unfortunately, GameMaker Studio is a garbage game construction kit and results in garbage games, and there's no exception there. The game is horribly badly balanced, the graphics are terrible, resolution and controls are locked, etc etc. While this is cheap, it's not worth the money. Save up and buy Kingdom Rush instead.
too hard
This is a fun and entertaining game. I have seen other reviews claiming that there needs to be better balanced, which I don't think is true at all, considering I won on my first round of trying (As you can see in my video). The balance for the game is perfect and I love the cheesy graphics. It is a little short for this game and maybe more levels can be added when you win? It took me a few moments to understand the game as there was no tutorial. As I said, its entertaining. So for its entertaining value I recommend this.
