Case Files: The Death of Paulette Williams

Ziemlich gutes FMV-Spiel mit verschmerzbaren Schwächen. Der Auftrag heißt: finde den Mörder durch das Verfolgen von Verhören. Diese fallen nicht gerade üppig aus, aber das glaubhafte Szenario motiviert zum mehrmaligen Spielen und Erfahren der Hintergründe. Auf der Plus-Seite stehen sehr gute Schauspieler, eine gute Story und ein einfaches Setup. Zudem ist der Preis sehr angemessen. Die Kürze eines einzelnen Spiels kann allerdings als leichter Schwachpunkt angesehen werden. Man verfolgt jeweils einen Verhör-Durchgang der beiden Verdächtigen, dann entscheidet man einmal, wie jeweils weiter vorgegangen werden soll, dann entscheidet man, wie zu urteilen ist. Da wären mehrere Verhöre wünschenswert gewesen. Zudem ist die Anzahl an Indizien doch reichlich überschaubar, da hätten mehr auch nicht geschadet. Dennoch hat mir "Case Files: The Death of Paulette Williams" gut gefallen. Man sollte nicht die Komplexität von "Immortality" erwarten, dafür ist es aber weniger langweilig.

interrogation game, just like it says on the tin no bells no whistles pure detective work through interrogations. perfect! (except i arrested the wrong person probably)

I love these types of mystery games! If you love The Ace Attorney games, then you'll definitely enjoy The Death of Paulette Williams.

The lady's acting is terrible, the story is too short, and only has three choices that don't make that much of a difference. It's decently written and I like the idea of being able to interfere in an interrogatory but, overall, it's one of the weakest FMV games that I've played.

尋問の陽子をカメラで見て犯人を推理するゲームらしい。ゲーム内でメモ書きも出来る。尋問映像を見ているだけなのでちょっと退屈するがセールで安かったので一応青評価にしておく。 XUnity.AutoTranslator-ReiPatcherで日本語に自動翻訳可能だが、尋問時の台詞の速度が速いので翻訳文が短時間しか表示されず内容が全然頭に入ってこない。尋問動画は録画してあって後で見返せるのでリアルタイム中継の映像は流し見でも良いかも。長い翻訳台詞は改行されずゲーム内のモニターからハミ出して読みにくくなる。あと机に置いてある参考資料の数々は画像なので翻訳されない。

I love detective type things. Those cases you can get in the mail to solve - great! And they're just pieces of paper. I was excited to find this game but it fell short of my expectation unfortunately, I was expecting something that required more thinking. Used the good features of notepad etc to make notes. The given written evidence was essentially useless, the tapes ok with ok acting. I'm glad i bought it on sale - I'm not sure I would pay full price given the lack of activity required, sadly.

Well I originally bought this game because one or more of the suspects resembled a marsupial. However, the best part about the game was the little room where you could write notes on the piece of paper and the whiteboard. Everyone was dumb and I hated the dialogue. The game was tedious and it was obvious that the female was the killer because how could a male gamer commit a crime of any sort? Did you even think twice about casting this soft bellied feeble handed man? Do you really expect me to think someone who wears supple chains is capable of murder? No! The plaid shirt speaks volumes. I don't trust women in makeup. I know, because when I wear makeup it's all a manipulation. -10/10 Would not replay. Terrible game.

Quite short murder-mystery, but the performances are good and for the price (3 bucks for two hours of great entertainment; I have paid more for movies that were not as good). Will recommend this one easily. Makes you feel like a "detective's assistant" and overall it was a fun experience despite being quite short.
