The good news is - the game mechanics is what I'd like to play. A management game where I buy and sell cars, hire staff and occasionally progress the story while listening to elevator music. The bad news is - this game is extremely flawed at the moment. So here's some feedback for the devs: 1) The pacing is absolutely off. There are moments where there's nothing going on, but most of the time, the amount of multitasking is overwhelming. I used to be a 300apm Terran, so I know my way around, but I dont want to do that in a game like this. It should be chill and allow me to focus on things that I want. 2) The game wont pause during events, whether its story or a car deal. You cant switch between tabs when there's a story dialogue going on, meaning you're losing customers. Again, just make it a chill game and let me focus on one thing at a time. It should be all about management, not mindless clicking. 3) UI and controls are bad. Just make it consistent - have RMB enter details or sub menus (such as rmb for car details currently in auction, rmb on a car in garage to access the sub menu where you assign mechanics etc) and LMB for action. Also whats the deal with ESC not bringing up the main menu? 4) Repairing cars is too simple. Look, this game is all about cars, right? Let me buy car parts in a scrapyard or dismantle cheap wrecks for parts and THEN repair cars. I will have more fun looking for great deals and later will rub hands when my mechanic repairs a wreck for a few bucks - and you, the devs, will stretch the gameplay in a meaningful way. 5) As others mentioned, the haggling and actual car sales are awful. The prices are off, customers refuse to pay anything but lunch money and overall, it doesnt feel rewarding. Selling cars should bring a bit of endorphin rush, not feel like a chore. Also, when talking to a customer on the phone about a specific car, the game should display how much I spent on the car and its estimated value. Having to look for these details in the garage menu is tedious. 6) The random events should have more variety. For example, having the option to buy a very cheap car from a shady character and risk police investigation etc. 7) I dont know if this is already implemented or not, but players should be able to buy/rent actual dealerships and have the cars there, for a fixed price. I imagine the customer calls will get annoying after some time. Thats about it. I've had this game on my wishlist since 2018 - and I dont mind waiting another year. Just dont release the game in this state.

I have been waiting so long for this game, and after all the hype and waiting... its so strange. We were hoping for a game where you can buy cars at salvage auctions, fix them, and then sell them at your dealership... but what we got is this trash. So what is this game? Well its a strange game with an awkward forced story and a weird top down map kinda puzzle turn based vibe to it. Every couple in game days a car goes for auction. You are LUCKY if you get the car. Even if you do get the car, its such a weird system. Also why do you hire people to steal cars for you? What even is this. Why force a story in this. Why make me click around on a map for 15 minutes to buy and fix a car. Its so weird.
Not my cup of tea. If you like working on cars and flipping them stick to car mechanic 18.
Overview
It ain't everyday that ol' Il Pallino is going to take on the task of reviewing either a demo game or free to play game in an official capacity, but guess what? Car Trader Simulator - Welcome to the Business ain't your usual game! (Okay, so demo game!) This demo contains the campaign's intro story and one single scene of roleplaying, a spoon-fed tutorial to show the player how to play, and a sandbox game which removes the roleplaying aspect involved with buying and selling cars.
Graphics and Sound
The graphics are mostly limited to a street map of where the player operates. The sandbox game features the headquarters building, the auto garage, a hospital, and a jail. The graphics are a good mood-setter for a sleazy car dealership in spite of the fact that they're not the greatest nor most aesthetically pleasing graphics gamers will ever encounter. The sounds are basic, but the developer aced it with the music. The music is a single loop of lounge music that perfectly fits the mood for a big city setting.
Positives
Whoever gets addicted to playing a demo game is largely dependent on the player, and in the case of ol' Il Pallino, can you imagine someone playing a demo game that doesn't allow saves at this time?? (Ol' Il Pallino had to complain to the developer of another game how it was unplayable due to not allowing for saves at an early stage of development.)
Negatives
This demo doesn't do enough in selling the player onto the roleplaying aspect of dealing with car buyers and sellers. There is one scene that's merely interesting, but is otherwise underwhelming.
Conclusion
If this review is unhelpful, it's Steam's fault for not allowing it to be longer! Pricing is unrealistic, you list a car for sale for 30,000, customers will offer you 9,000. The pricing is very unrealistic, no dealership in the world would accept an offer for 21,000 less than the sticker price. Furthermore, no consumer would ever make such a silly offer, it waste everyone's time. Next, you can put ads out, but it doesn't matter, if you have three sedans for sale, you will only have customers looking for SUVS, station wagons or hatch backs.. In modern car buying, you go online, find the car you want and call the dealership to find out if it's there...you don't ask them for any random car. It would be like going to Home Depot and asking for Ice cream....This is a bad game, it's boring...all you do is wait, wait, wait, and then reject all offers.

If you like staring at a map and more or less micromanaging this game is for you. Very boring and I barely got through the Tutorial before I wanted slap myself with my keyboard. Not my taste, but I am sure there is an audience for it. would work well as a browser or mobile game.
I always liked business simulation games and this car dealer business is a good concept. In game you run a car dealership which you acquire old cars and sell them to clients. But this demo is really really bad. Save your time and look for something else to play at the moment. -Client demand system is bad. The demands are always first limited to car types which does not seem realistic. Given so many data on each car can’t they be asking in other ways like passenger seats available, min horsepower, engine size etc.? When comes down to price negotiation more than half are verbally aggressive as if I scammed them but I am already having a very low profit margin. Some polite people in this Old York City is seriously needed. It is also funny they keep asking for low prices but nobody actually has an actual budget that they always accept a car and start asking for lower prices. -Selling system is frustrating. Every sales has to be done by a phone call answering a lot of questions. Not only you waste time waiting for calls, after some time you get tired answering enquires pressing truth or lie, which also indicates the devs over stress the choice between law abiding and law breaking. Client offers are always below my cost that you barely make profit. A better economy system could be implemented apart from this financial advisor message. -Reputation loss is easily huge. For quite a few times clients asked for a car type that I do not have. I picked up the call and there is no tell the truth option. I had to close the call and I lost reputation for the action. The other time I faced this issue I cut the call, and lost reputation again. Even with the right car type up to 3 requirement met they could just say it’s not what they want and give you reputation loss. So what is the point of all this? Old York citizens are stupid and illogical. -Reward system makes no sense. Tried being a lawful and responsible dealership. Always fixed cars, never lied to clients, used no thieves but broke eventually. It appears that devs wanted you to make choices which the fact is you have no choice to not break the law at all because you will not survive if you do not. I ended up starting with just one mechanic and a few thieves. Did not even bother to get a tow truck driver as I gave up bidding new cars. -Police activity is just a RNG. There are no actual police patrols in the map. They simply generate randomly anywhere in the map so it’s all luck a cop could suddenly appear in front of you. I could ignore how they have god vision to realise the car is stolen but arresting my thief from the opposite direction of highway is totally unrealistic. No matter by equipment or stealing a big HP car you never outrun the cops. As your law points go low you will have cops following your thieves anywhere. Failing to increase my law points for weeks I had no choice but to fire all my thieves. -Game presentation is bad. During a phone call the right bottom corner of the map is totally blocked. If you are trying to pick up some XP or stealing a car better luck and try again later. While the market live auction notification sound is terribly disturbing especially when a few auctions start together. Despite closing the live auction function the disturbing bidding sound never stops. Stupid AIs only add $100 to every bid so for each car sold you will be hearing at least 40 dings. Overall this game is far from complete. The economic system, law abiding / breaking choice balance, reputation system, client demands, profit loss mechanism, cop operation and game interface are all problematic. There are so many obvious issues that I start to think the devs are too lazy to play it and is just throwing it to people to report them what is wrong in the game. Probably the worst demo I have played so far.
I have this game for along time in my wishlist, but i dont know anymore if i would buy it. There are alot of things to improve. 1. I tried to play this game in german, but the translations were so bad that i changed the language back to english. 2. Buyers are such hard lowballers... i offer someone a 120k car and they want to pay 5k... wtf? 3. The pictures of the cars were poorly made... cars dont match the pictures and the quality from the colorchange is very bad. for example the bwms. The 320i is listed as sedan, on the picture is a wagon. or another example: there is a BWM with is definitily a e90 in the wrecked picture and after the repair the car is a f30... thats unrealistic. 4. There are toooo many events in this game... the whole time someone stoles my cars or my garage got burned or whatever... i lost in 3 hours of playing around 10 cars... 5. generally all prices arent realistic. 95% of the cars were tooo expensive in buying and selling. 6. Some more random salvage pictures would be great 7. Make that the buyers come to your garage and sell the cars in person. 8. The questions from the people are sooooooo dumb: Who on earth will ask the seller if there were scratches on the right front airbag? Please improve this game. The idea is great, but it is poorly adopted and not realisic enough...
I'd like to recommend this game, but can't. The UI needs work to make the game playable/enjoyable. Too many clicks required for basic actions. Bad transitions between menus, no tool tips, actions aren't always intuitive, etc
