Captain Disaster in: Death Has A Million Stomping Boots

It's a point and click adventure game, with a classic gameplay hidden in it. Interaction with the world is done by left and right mouse button (which correspond to use/look). The puzzles are at alright difficulty and shouldn't be a problem to anyone to solve them, especially if you like talking to people around you, or exploring the locations (just don't forget about using both mouse buttons for interactions!). I'd love to see more ZB in this, as this was my favourite character, and with the most personality (think: KITT & Michel Knight duo). It's a short one, but made with passion. PS. I finished CD: DHAMSB outside Steam first. My playtime is relatively low because I knew what to do at this point.

Definitely a must for adventure game fans. Some of the puzzles in this are great, I especially enjoyed the mid-section of the game and the puzzle with the state of his hand. If I had any criticism at all it would be about the quality of the sound for some of the voices (not the actual voices themselves, they were great). The fact that it's fully voiced is awesome though. Also, the "Outrun" music! :D

I had fun playing the free prequel "Dark side of the moon", and I thought of giving this one a try. It's a very different game. Much more polished in many ways. The visuals are very consistent, increasing in quality as you reach the climax, which is very rewarding. The story has a lot more work, with more developed characters and references to the prequel. The music fits perfectly and sets the mood. finally, it's really rare to solve a puzzle by chance, or have to do pixel hunting. Almost every puzzle can be solved by applying logic. The dialogs go on the same line as the prequel, with tons of pop culture references, and a bit of breaking the third wall, plus tons of comedy everywhere, as you can probably guess from the title and the trailer. You can tell there is quite a bit of work leaving enough hints for the player to solve the puzzles when stuck. If you like retro point&click adventures, this one is totally worth your money. One word of advice: look at things. It's a common mechanic to solve some of the puzzles.

A much more detailed look into the adventures of Captain Disaster! This game is very reminiscent of Lucasarts/Sierra style games of yore. With an excellent storyline, wonderfully balanced puzzles, and a fully fleshed out character set with excellent voice acting! A definite must play if you love adventure games.

TLDR: Captain Disaster is Superb! This is a game that really meant a lot to me! I think at times, it's easy for me to want to sob over my collection of never growing LucasArts titles and remember the glory days... Then a game like this comes along and says "Hey, Monkey Island ain't the only game in town!" Yes, it pays homage to the greats, but it is just chocked full or zane, fun, and silliness itself. Truly a worthy addition to the annals of #pointandclick glory based on it's clever humor alone! So, the writing is great, the puzzles are challenging but fun, the graphics are charming and add a little nostalgia from the glory days of point and click, and I thoroughly enjoyed the music and voice acting. Great pacing on the story and locations as well! This game gives me hope that point and click games can still be wild, funny, and well made all at the same time! Got this on itch.io when it first came out a couple of years ago. I recently decided to give it another play, and it's still entertaining as hell! Certainly recommended!

Felt to me like it was trying too hard to be funny with a lot of references to other games and movies. I also found some of the puzzles very obtuse.

Really good humor, just a fun game. Some puzzles are funky, but it doesn't hurt the overall mood of this adventure.

One of the few adventure games that made me laugh out loud. Plenty of silly humour, loads of references to other games or pop culture (Centennial Kestrel or V'Ger, anyone?) without that getting annoying. The puzzles are by and large sensible, making good (re)use of inventory items and locations. I love seeing indie gems like this.
