Experienced on the Oculus Rift
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/41jYrq5d8UA Is this game worth .99 cents (Steam sale price)? Yes. Absolutely. This game is a great deal at that price. This is a perfect puzzle escape room for VR puzzle beginners or casuals. I think Intermediate puzzle players would also enjoy this. It's at the right difficulty so that most people would enjoy it, except hardcore puzzle veterans. The game looks absolutely beautiful. It's running on the Unreal Engine. Even on my 1060 GTX, it was running at a steady 90 frames per second on the medium graphical setting. There is only teleportation. There is no smooth or snap turning. While the graphics are amazing, the sound work doesn't quite match up. You'll also clip through objects. You can pick up most (not all) items, but only a few interact in any meaningful way. The game ran smoothly and I experienced zero bugs. Although the Oculus Rift isn't supported, the only issue I found on the Rift is that there is no way to bring up the menu / save function. The game doesn't work on Windows Mixed Reality as there is a fishbowl effect. It took me a little less than 45 minutes to complete the game. According to the Steam achievements, about 41% of players have accomplished this so I expect it will take most people around this amount of time as well. Overall, this was a good experience and a solid puzzle escape room. It's also one of the most beautiful looking ones that I have ever played. Sale Price Rating 7.5/10. It's a steal of a deal at only .99 cents! Buy now before the sale is over! p.s. Please don't give out negative reviews because you thought a puzzle game was too hard and there wasn't a walkthrough online for your convenience. That's a pretty miserable thing to do.
A short but pretty good puzzle room. The puzzles are well designed. The models and textures look very realistic, like they've been scanned from real life. The lack of physics sound effects feels odd and makes everything feel less real.
Very cool. WAY too short. Took 25 mins.. and I was moving slow. Should cost $1.. max $3.
Took me ~25min to complete it. Some sfx are missing like opening doors and the like, its a bit too silent at times, the music helps. Good graphics, very good performance. Puzzles have logical solutions, there are no supernatural aspects or scares. Over all a good escape the room game, puzzles work, audio cassettes sound good, i liked the voice acting. I enjoyed my playthrough, it wasnt super simple, but it wasnt frustrating, so id say spot on difficulty.
Update: I bought this game AGAIN hoping the walkthrough would help. The sound kept going out during the game. Since it's highly dependent upon sound, I would go back to the save files only to find one was just a black screen. I went back to a different save, one from May and then one from today and sound is back but THE FREAKING BLOCKS ARE GONE. GONE!!!!!! This is literally the most frustrating VR game I have ever played. Even at $1 it is too much. There's not even a video playthrough so I can see what happens at the end. I regret ever even seeing this game in Explore. RUN AWAY FROM THIS GAME
Not finished development and extremely frustrating to play, even for $4.50. The game itself is fairly short (I presume), but enjoyable. However, I've never been able to actually finish it, despite almost completing it five or six times. Always the collision detection, clipping, or something mucks up, and I manage to fumble an important object (door key, flare gun, wooden cube) so that it completely dissappears and is lost forever. (I'm on an Vive Pro setup, and don't have issues with other games.) I've made it to the dock, but as the flare gun is gone from any area I can reach, and never respawns, I'm just stuck. After the first two times this happened I tried to be methodical and save after handling each item and solving each puzzle in sequence. Turns out that the restore feature apparently doesn't cover things like the position of the cube objects, and if the savefile has the drawer open then (I'm guessing) the cube restores to the closed position and promptly falls permanently out of reach. Also things like safe combinations are randomized so I have to resolve them each time, which sucks because it means need to move each object again, risking throwing it away to infinity. OK, so restoring saves are out, I guess I'll just have to be really careful about handling objects and solving the puzzles? Well, after attempt number five or six, I'd managed to load the flare gun was successful and was almost home free. But I accidentally brushed the gun against the safe door, which resulted in the gun being thrown to infinity. I just can't take it anymore and really don't care if this guy dies in a bunker or not. With just a little more testing and work put it I would love this game and recommend it, as is, you may want to give it a miss.
Small and very realistic VR Escape Room. It works fine on Oculus Rift, but requires 360 tracking. Pros: + Grounded in reality, but still interesting puzzles make it feel like an actual physical Escape Room + Amazing visuals, a lot of objects look photorealistic Cons: - Lack of sound: all object interactions are silent - Teleport is a bit clunky(there are no other locomotion options): you can accidentally teleport inside of shelves or drop the object you were holding
