UNFINISHED AND ABANDONED GAME. I enjoyed what little of the game I was able to play it but come to realize that this is an essentially an Early Access they released and immediately abandoned after a handful of bug and QoL fixes. Of course those changes lead to other game breaking bugs that will not be fixed. Bugs range from picking up an object completely changing the object to something else (like rugs running into picnic cloths) to things like the day/night cycle being completely bugged so nighttime specific encounters never happen (like certain bugs not spawning preventing you from completing quests) and you have significant energy drain all the time as if its during the night cycle. I've also encountered bugs preventing me from encountering quest related items so essentially there is no way to progress past FBI agents in my game blocking a significant amount of content. I haven't even seen ANY crypids that are in the game. Probably because the day/night cycle is bugged. Unfortunately devs have completely abandoned the game. The discord they link for help and feedback is abandoned. People have asked questions from months ago that remain unanswered and same on steam. Looking at the feedback, it seems the devs did not listen to the community and simply added a couple of biomes and fixes to a barebones Early Access game just to release and abandon the game. There is literally still several placeholder texts within the game. Several items/dialog just say "insert dialog here." It really sucks that the game is left unfinished and I can't even access a bunch of the content that is in the game because of glitches/bugs. Its a shame because it had a lot of potential to be a real fun cute game about managing a campsite in a forest of aliens and crypids.
It could have been a good game, but it's clear that this project was abandoned by the developer. As you get later in the game, you will find glitches where you're stuck in the void between nights, invisible walls that weren't there before, Quest items that were never added to the game (caterpillars), the teleportation system not working, and campers disappearing into the locked final zone. Can't fully purchase inventory extensions. Completed quests don't leave the To-Do tab as they initially have. I'm sure many more bugs I've forgotten. Please, do not purchase this game. As consumers, we deserve games that a developer is proud of. If they don't intend to maintain this game, it should be removed from the store.
I really wanted to like this game, but it's such a huge let down. The concept is fantastic, the art is wonderful, and the gameplay could've been so good. First big issue I have, the developers never finished the game, they pushed it out of early access and ditched it. Which becomes painfully obvious because there are plenty of bugs(some are pretty much game breaking) and crashes. However, nothing about this game irritates me more than the pure clunkiness, literally all of it. The two main offenders: The trash inventory system is cumbersome and nearly every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ action is bound to the same button and you can't change keybinds! The game doesn't respect the player's time but it was only because the bugs pushed it past that breaking point for me.
"One complaint I have is that there's too many bugs here." -Their own trailer
The game has an interesting premise, but the execution is awful. The devs dipped after the fail game release, almost as if they didn't wanna work on the game anymore and rushed to finish it. Although I enjoy the art style and general idea of the game, it is a buggy mess that feels unfinished. I can't finish the game myself due to not being able to find the right things I need, and online doesn't help either. The devs aren't even active within their own Discord, messages in the help channel go unanswered since around the game's release. It's a total mess.
Game seems to have been abandoned. It’s extremely buggy and doesn’t work properly.
There is a bit of work that certainly needs to be done, but overall the game is very fun. The current state of the game is a bit grindy, and there are a few notable bugs that I have encountered. The grind is fine, I enjoy it, but may not be for everyone. Took me awhile to figure out how to get money in the game, at the end of the camp week you get a large sum, but while running the came you can sell items to a shop just south of the camp entrance. Pros: relaxing, seems to have an interesting story, exploration is easy once you figure out what is going on, campers each are unique and it is easy to see what they would enjoy in their profile page, you can set up the camp however you want and unlock new buildings/tools through missions, and it is easy to have your troop rounded up so you can have them work on different tasks quickly. Cons: Game sometimes crashes when going near bodies of water (waterfalls are the worst for me), campers are difficult to direct and often find themselves in danger (would be nice if they would use the flashlights to keep danger away), missions aren't always once you have completed them, inventory systems is a bit clunky and time consuming to do anything with.
Game is unfinished and seemingly abandoned. It's a good idea with a fun concept but unfortunately it's just too buggy with not enough content to really make it worth your while. Truly I wouldn't bother as the devs show no signs of coming back to tidy up / add anything new.
It was a fun game when it came out but the lazy dev team abandoned the game with a ton of bugs still present. I regret spending money on this game and supporting the devs.
4/10 - The game has a very charming art style and I want to like it, but unfortunately it is very repetitive and boring and the cumbersome inventory is a catastrophe. You get little tasks like catching 5 bugs or collecting 20 herbs. But it's often not obvious where to find them, so you run blindly across the whole map, taking everything you find in the hope that it's the right one. After a while, the children get bored, so you have to do something else. Once you have completed the quest after a few days, you sometimes only get boring pictures and the search starts all over again. I just spent an hour looking for a certain fish until I gave up the game. I don't see that there will be any fun in the game at some point. You can summarize my experience like this: Run around, click the action button, wait, repeat.
