"Buried" gets an easy recommendation from me for any fans of horror short stories. The oppressive atmosphere created by the sound, simple visuals, and well paced writing made for a two-night playthrough that was frankly tough to stop on the first night. You get to make some choices throughout the story, and I immediately am having thoughts about going back through and seeing what happens with alternate choices. At the end of the game you get an option to sign up for Bromoco Games' newsletter which I happily did, but this game came out in 2016 and I do not see any others currently on Steam, which is a real shame. I'll be on the lookout for more like this.
I watched a Let's Play of it a couple of years ago and it suddenly came into my mind again. And I don't regret it, it was so much fun to follow this exciting story again! I was so nervous inbetween since I made some choices that end up not being the best ideas BUT I managed to save the day and my dear buddy. There are so many choices that you can play Buried a couple of times without getting tired of it! For now, I keep my story how it is tho, but I will come back to it for sure. I was really into it and couldn't make a pause because I was so curious how my desicions will turn out. This game is definitely better than some movies showing in TV, promise you that. But for gods sake, grab your hard hat.

While not much of a CYOA game, you're still presented with multiple ways to approach each situation you're given to participate in. Other than that, "Buried" succeeds at presenting a taut, tense scifi thriller, written in a clear yet unique voice unlike any indie game I've played. The story clips along without any word wasted, and the accompanying pictures serve not to improve but to just enhance the already-chilling narrative. "Buried" could have easily been a novella for sale as an eBook, it's quite an impressive story that will keep you flipping through its chapters to find the truth. If you're looking for a good story with minimal player input to while away a short time, definitely consider picking this up. If you're looking for a narrative that is actually influenced by the choices you make, this probably isn't the game for you and I would recommend looking further in the CYOA tag.
Text based interactive story games do not get enough notice. This is one of the best games that I have played in that genre, even without its stunning photos to help show the world that the text is creating for you in your mind, Buried does an amazing job of telling you a story whilst you make the decisions about what happens to the characters within that story. The most important thing about gmaes that give you a choice is that you have to feel that the choices you make matter and in this game, boy do they matter. From the start you get taken on a journey and you have absolutely no idea where the story is going to but you are on the edge of your freakin seat the whole way. You want to save everyone but its never that straight-forward. The audio in the game does a great job of keeping you immersed in that world that you can only gauge from the photos and have to make up the rest in your mind, which is what i think personally is so great about text-based adventure games. Buried is one of the best. 100% recommend!
Game may contain "story." Who is "buried?" 7.5/10 It is.
A well written story and wonderful atmosphere that had me engaged from start to finish. If you're a fan of interactive stories or looking to get into the genre I highly recommend this one, especially for the price. The only real complaint I do have is a lack of replayability, but the story is overall solid enough that i don't feel bothered by it.
I really enjoyed this game
