Really fun game, would definitely recommend. I'm surprised how this game isn't more popular, just the gameplay alone is amazing, while the graphics are definitely indie I don't think it subtracts from most of the game.

A fun, unique tower defense game where you have a mobile artillery platform following you around and blasting apart the golem-like creatures that try to take down your tower. It's got some neat platforming to keep you occupied while you explore the war-torn wasteland you find yourself in, and learn more about the world of Burggeist. You yourself can support your artillery by using magic spells which increase in potency the further away you are from the ground, which integrates the platforming and the tower defense aspects exceptionally well. This is not mentioning all the collectibles you can find across the world (which usually have combat applications), nor the wacky, fascinating characters which you will meet in each tower, and whose quests you may complete for useful rewards. The story is just engaging enough to get you immersed in the world and the characters, but doesn't go into so much depth that it detracts from the gameplay loop of platforming around/exploring, finding towers, and building/defending them. The English translation is a solid 4/5 - you'll understand everything the game tells you. The boss fights could be a little more responsive to controls (I used a controller), but once you get the hang of them (and learn to leave some wiggle room for dodging) they're not too bad, and it's difficult to complain about fights that (as far as I'm aware) you can't actually lose. Overall, a real gem of a game. It's a solid recommend from me.
Although perhaps not a game for everyone, I enjoyed the experience quite a lot. Even with Japanese indie game jank present, the soul of the game shines strong. The gameplay is quite unique as far as I'm aware, mixing a tower defense with a orderable bombardment unit while the player character gets their own set of skills to engage in combat yourself like The start is admittedly a bit rough as you get acquainted with the game's systems and lack of options for defending your tower well. I don't think I could personally say that the gameplay ever really clicks, but you do ease into the flow of it all. It does get quite fun once you get a wider variety of upgrades and abilities for traversal and dealing with enemies, you get a good sense of progression of getting more and more powerful beyond just stat raising The worldbuilding, characters and story are all rather intriguing, filled with bizarre characters in a world where the strange seems to be expected. There's almost an odd tone to it all, rather reminiscent to me of the 2003 anime adaption of Kino's Journey, with this weird sense of isolation and "distance", almost liminal in a way. I really enjoyed the tone of it all and it lent well to making an interesting world that I'd love to see more of The soundtrack is really nice as well, the calmer tracks in particular stand out and I'll definitely be adding them into my music list Overall, considering this is the work of a mostly solo dev over the course of 6 years, this is a pretty fantastic achievement, congratulations to the developer and I look forward to seeing more from you!
