Not the best visual novel I have played but at least it didn't fall in the "please make this stop category" and "oh my god, this is so creepy" categories. Seems to have 4 endings in total and one of them is so incredibly stupid it is funny again.

Bunny Bounce is a short anime-style visual novel developed and published by Dharker Studios, a developer known for producing lighthearted romance stories with colorful characters and branching narrative routes. Set within the same fictional world as several other Dharker titles, the game takes place in the Beach Bounce resort, a lively seaside location that serves as the central hub for the story. Rather than focusing on complex gameplay systems, the experience is built around reading dialogue, making occasional choices, and guiding the protagonist through a series of comedic and romantic encounters with the women who work at the resort. The story follows Tomo, a young man who works at the Beach Bounce resort and spends his days helping run the establishment. At the beginning of the narrative, Tomo experiences a strange accident that leaves him suffering from occasional hallucinations and distorted perceptions of reality. This unusual condition quickly becomes the source of many of the game’s comedic moments, as Tomo begins seeing exaggerated or bizarre situations that blur the line between imagination and reality. These hallucinations often occur during interactions with the other characters, turning otherwise ordinary conversations into humorous misunderstandings. Much of the narrative revolves around Tomo’s daily life at the resort and his interactions with the women who work alongside him. Each character has her own personality, quirks, and relationship with the protagonist. Some are playful and teasing, frequently joking with Tomo and putting him in awkward situations, while others show a more gentle or thoughtful side as the story progresses. The relationships that develop between Tomo and these characters form the emotional core of the game, as players gradually learn more about their personalities and motivations. Gameplay follows the classic structure of a visual novel. The player spends most of the experience reading dialogue and narrative descriptions while viewing character portraits and background illustrations. At certain moments, the story pauses to allow the player to choose how Tomo responds to a situation or which character he spends time with. These choices influence the direction of the story and determine which character route the player will follow. Because the game contains multiple endings, players can replay the story and experiment with different decisions in order to experience each possible outcome. The branching routes add some replay value to what is otherwise a relatively short experience. Each character route reveals different scenes and character interactions, encouraging players to explore the various possibilities. Some routes focus more on comedic situations created by Tomo’s hallucinations, while others highlight quieter moments that reveal more about the characters themselves. Although the overall structure remains simple, the different endings provide enough variation to make multiple playthroughs worthwhile for players who want to see every storyline. The cast of characters plays a central role in making the game enjoyable. Each member of the resort staff has a distinct personality that influences how they interact with Tomo. Some characters are confident and outgoing, often pushing the protagonist into awkward but entertaining situations. Others are more reserved or thoughtful, creating opportunities for softer and more emotional scenes. The variety of personalities helps keep the dialogue lively and gives players several different romantic possibilities to pursue. One of the most noticeable aspects of Bunny Bounce is its comedic tone. The story rarely takes itself too seriously and frequently embraces exaggerated humor and playful situations. Tomo’s hallucinations often lead to absurd misunderstandings or awkward scenarios that provide much of the game’s entertainment. This lighthearted approach gives the narrative a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere that contrasts with more dramatic visual novels that focus heavily on emotional conflict. The visual presentation follows the anime-inspired style commonly found in Dharker Studios’ games. Character portraits are bright and expressive, with multiple facial expressions that change during conversations to reflect the mood of each scene. The characters are designed with distinct appearances that help communicate their personalities immediately. Background artwork depicts various areas of the Beach Bounce resort, including the beach, interior rooms, and other locations around the seaside setting. While the visuals are relatively simple compared to larger visual novel productions, they effectively support the tone and storytelling of the game. In addition to standard character portraits, the game features special CG illustrations that appear during important moments in the story. These images highlight key scenes within each route and serve as visual rewards for reaching different narrative outcomes. Players can unlock these illustrations and later revisit them in a gallery mode, providing a small incentive for completionists who want to see every piece of artwork. The sound design remains modest but appropriate for the style of the game. Background music plays during most scenes, helping create a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere that matches the beach resort setting. The soundtrack consists of light melodies that support the narrative without drawing attention away from the dialogue. Like many visual novels, the audio elements are designed primarily to complement the story rather than act as a major feature of the experience. One of the game’s strengths lies in its accessibility. Because the gameplay is simple and the story can be completed in a relatively short amount of time, Bunny Bounce is easy for new players to approach. The straightforward controls and clear narrative structure make it possible to finish a full route in a single sitting. This makes the game well suited for players looking for a brief visual novel experience rather than a lengthy multi-hour narrative. However, the game’s short length also limits its depth. Each story route is fairly brief, and some character arcs feel rushed as a result. Players who prefer longer visual novels with extensive character development and complex branching narratives may find the experience somewhat limited. Additionally, the gameplay itself remains minimal, consisting almost entirely of reading dialogue and making occasional choices. Despite these limitations, Bunny Bounce succeeds in delivering a fun and easygoing visual novel experience. Its colorful presentation, humorous tone, and variety of character routes make it an enjoyable story for fans of lighthearted romance narratives. While it does not aim to provide deep gameplay or an intricate storyline, it offers a charming and entertaining experience that focuses on character interaction and playful storytelling. In the end, Bunny Bounce serves as a compact romantic comedy within the visual novel genre. Its relaxed seaside setting, comedic scenarios, and anime-inspired visuals create a pleasant atmosphere that suits the casual nature of the game. For players who enjoy short romance visual novels and character-driven storytelling, it offers a light and amusing narrative that can be explored through several different endings. Rating: 6/10
