No. This game is ridiculously cheap.

Yeah, that'll do. It's only about an hour long for a playthrough, but it's a fun hour. Most of the enemies are just the same fodder over and over again but every level has a unique gimmick to it to keep you on your toes. And it's bursting with personality, I was particularly amused by the penultimate boss who takes the Pirate style up to eleven by wearing two eyepatches and blinding himself over it... And he FIGHTS like a blind mad while he's at it. Honestly I just wish I had this game when I was a kid. Would have been my favorite game ever if it was on my Sega Genesis.

This game is a wonderful throwback to classic beat em ups, like Final Fight, Streets of Rage, or Double Dragon, but with a tremendous personality of its own: and not just because of the pirate setting, but also because of the way the elements of the environment are integrated into the gameplay. Smooth controls, great music, hilarious little details throughout the levels, and a reasonable level of difficulty add up to a wholesome playing experience.

One of the best experiences I had playing a beat em up game. Really funny and original. Games should really be more like this one. I won the game first try but using more lives that I should. I will definetly revisit the game from time to time to try different characters in a more hardcore run. Really glad I bought this

Divertido y luce bien, pero las cajas de impacto no están muy bien hechas y se vuelve frustrante el juego a veces. Además en la segunda pantalla ha dejado de funcionar el mando porque sí. Le tendrían que dar más cariño. Es un juego OpenBOR

If you like beat ‘em ups, you’ll love this game. Smooth gameplay, charming characters, and even a bit of laughs, I enjoyed playing this game. This also includes an enhanced version of the original Buccaneers game from 1989 which plays much differently than the revamped version.

A nice surprise! This is a simple yet very effective and fun brawler, with enough action and cheese to keep you entertained the whole way. The game is admiteddly easy in the default difficulty setting(it's very generous with life and items), but all still felt fair and well designed as a whole. And the piraty setting is fully taken advantage of here, and there's enough setpieces to switch it up. The inclusion of a recreation of the original is a very nice touch, and i was surprised to see that it played in a dramatically different way, yet kept the core design. All in all, it's a fun way to waste n afternoon with friends, and it's all professionally made, it fully feel like straight from the arcade game era, in a good way. Well recommended! :)

No es un juego perfecto ni ambicioso,pero muy divertido,original y con el que vas a pasar buenos ratos si te van los arcades clásicos,jefes finales muy originales y los escenarios son muy divertidos,además tenemos varios personajes para escoger,lo que lo hace mas rejugable ,sin embargo los pocos niveles que he jugado los enemigos son muy repetitivos en cada fase,pero se le puede perdonar,tiene mucho encanto y su ambientación es genial!!! vaaaaaamos sparrow!!!!

Buccaneers Shipshape é o jogo mais recente de Merso, porém foi meu de partida para seus títulos comerciais. Remake de uma obscura ROM hack espanhola baseada em Vigilante, o jogo original é bem difícil de recomendar até para o maior entusiasta dos retrôs. Portanto tomou bastante liberdade para reinventá-lo quase por completo. O resultado é um beat'em up vibrante e cheio de personalidade, com quatro personagens jogáveis, humor cartunesco e fases variadas. Não só visualmente, mas também em mecânicas mais criativas, como lutar em cima de carruagens comicamente grandes desviando das estocadas do condutor ou escorregar por telhados durante uma tempestade. O jogo demonstra uma preocupação crescente com ritmo, variedade e identidade visual. Pequenos toques como a mudança de sprites na fase submersa em que os personagens aparecem com as bochechas infladas mostram como o Merso abraçou mais ainda a comédia para dar personalidade aos seus jogos. Buccaneers Shipshape pode não reinventar o gênero, mas apresenta uma coesão estética e um espírito autoral - mesmo se tratando de um remake - que o tornam memorável. Fantastic. Not surprised it's been in development a good while cause it's extremely well done and worth the wait. The old game is not bad either as a bonus imho.
