About
When students Graff and Ott are called upon to celebrate "Natal Untail," a corrupted version of Atlasia's ancient tradition, they'll discover that even in this decaying world, the values of sharing and friendship endure as life's greatest treasures.
Nope! This story serves as a prequel to the main game, introducing the characters and explain the game’s terminology. While playing BROK the InvestiGator first provides additional context, this visual novel is a valid entry point into the BROK universe.
I have written and made this visual novel in approximately 3 weeks of work, this re-uses a large majority of assets from the main game, and spans about an hour to get through.
This visual novel has full accessibility for blind players in English.

The original version is free, but the upgraded "Special Edition" of Natal Tail, revisited for consoles, with choices, achievements and new scenes is now also available on PC as a DLC to support the developer!

This game got me on the verge of tears with this amazing story, I love that they focused on their tradition and happiness focusing on each of the main characters point of view. Anyways, I´m glad that Klay showed some kindness for once. Recommended to remind everyone the true meaning of this holiday.
Ce n'est pas un jeux, c'est de la lecture et on finit par découvrir au bout du bout de l'ennui qu'il faut prendre le DLC pour avoir des choix et des succès lol...
"BROK - Natal Tail, A New Christmas" is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This is a short e-book intended to advertise and encourage gamers on Steam to pay real cash money for the developers Furry fan-fictions. And yes, the writing is peak cringe, and the subject is the authors imaginary Furry(scaley) anthropomorphic animal boyfriend, who is also a detective, but you wouldn't know him, he goes to another school, in Canada. The cringe here is weaponised, and possibly against the geneva convention. Of course most e-book fan-fictions on Steam are like this, this is no exception, but the sheer number of fake looking reviews with glowing praise are either direct from the Furry community on Steam, or just, you know, fake. The story follows the authors imaginary furry boyfriend on a christmas sleuthing adventure with writing so bad it'll make you throw up in your mouth a little. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to read the next sentence, instead of just turning the pages. You'd think it was garbage. Now imagine that experience, but with much worse writing (because if these guys could write professionally, they'd be published authors and this would be on shelves in bookstores, and they wouldn't have to pay Valve $100 to self-publish this on Steam), and you have your average Steam e-book. One of the chief problems with failed authors polluting Steam with non-game E-books is that E-books can easily just be presented in a web browser... there's no justification for charging money on Steam for what might as well be a webpage. We don't spend thousands on buying a gaming rig to spend money on Steam for something Chrome or Firefox could do. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the e-book peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent readers, and now there's basically nobody reading it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Edit: This is now a paid product as the author has locked content behind paid DLC. He expects people to give him money to read his furry fan-fiction. This is appalling. While this E-book is "free", you can get better quality, professionally written books and comics for free online (from places like Project Gutenberg) or from public libraries. Steam isn't a comic book store, neither is it Netflix, it's for games. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle. It's impossible for me to recommend things to PC gamers that aren't really games.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
Weirdly, the author of this failed furry fan-fiction (ugh) uses their breach of Valve guidelines in this pointless response to heavily advertise their other products... you can see their presence on Steam has nothing to do with gamers and everything to do with being a marketing exercise. When developers put themselves before gamers and before the gaming industry, this is the kind of disservice to gamers that we see. Nothing in the developers pointless breach of Valve guidelines changes any of the objective facts of my review. However, I have edited my review to properly classify this as a paid product as content is now locked behind DLC... the developer lies when they present this as a free product when it now isn't. I cannot recommend this garbage fan-fiction to anyone.
Man I always thought that Brok the Investigator would always be the only one of it's kind. I'm glad I was proven wrong with the release of The Brawl Bar and who could forget Natal Tail. Even though you won't get to hear everyone's beautiful voices from the games it's still yet other dive into Atlasia and through a Christmas special no less. I love the interactions everyone has here and how we're finally introduced to Ott's Parents. The fact that there's even a DLC update surprises me but I'm definitely not opposed. I'm definitely going to look forward to playing this again. Keep rocking on COWCATGames!
非常温馨的BROK番外小故事,已支持DLC包,期待下一部作品。
My overall thoughts are summarized as followed: Yes, I would love bonus stories from the main game. Double yes to wholesome stories such as this. And finally, yo this made me smile a lot. It was like a little picture book with a good message behind it.
