Broforce is an action-packed side-scrolling run ‘n’ gun ode to freedom, putting you in control of an under-funded, overpowered paramilitary organization dealing exclusively in excessive force.

Reviews
Played this game back in 2016. I had pretty good memories of it and decided to play it again in 2026. What a nightmare. It's not strictly a bad game, but you need to have the right expectations to fully enjoy it. The game is marketed differently, which is my main gripe. I think it was marketed as a co-op shenanigan, but in reality it's a hardcore platformer. The first one or two hours are fun. You blast through the maps with your favorite movie characters. It feels fresh and rewarding. Then everything goes to hell (literally). Environmental hazards and traps are everywhere, and everything explodes. The game always seems to spawn the hero who's least suited for the task, so you just keep dying until the right character finally appears. Only to die from some random explosion anyway. On top of that, Stage 15 drags on for far too long, with no option to quit mid-game. I was already burned out by that point. The cherry on top? Serious desync issues, which are incredibly frustrating considering you already have to deal with all the other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ happening on the screen. Over the top, fun, action. Nothing too deep. No real staying power though, after a while levels became just a bit of a slog since there's not a whole lot of variation, despite a few different enemy factions introduced. There's a ton of different characters with different powers that's fun. I'll give it thumbs up.
