I don't think this can be found fun
Really genuinely bad. Huge disappointment from the original devs of RuneScape. I'd say the player numbers make this obvious. Over 17k peak around launch and they can't even hit 200 players anymore on a free game. Don't play this expecting any of the things you like about RuneScape.

latest changes are good, cadence of updates is insanely cool, but the content itself is still needs to be more different from what we've already seen

I decided to come check the game out. I haven't played it since release of Early Access almost two years ago at this point. Honestly, I am just very confused and cannot recommend it at this current point of time. First and foremost, not a massive fan that privacy settings turn off all interactions with other players by default. I hadn't realized this was a thing initially and I just thought no one was typing. Turns out after I found this out, I was able to see that there were actually a few people around. Gathering resources feels way too sluggish. Eels were alright, as there were six of them in a confined area, but as I moved on to Bass, it was excrutiating. There were three spawns, once you gathered from one source, it'd disappear and take around 20-30 seconds to respawn. It's just not very enjoyable at all. My biggest pet peeve of this game so far, "Milestone Levels". From my limited understanding, once you get to Level 50 in a skill which takes AGES, you get reset to level 00 and get a "Milestone" Level which is sort of like a Prestige from my understanding. Now, I'm not sure if you ACTUALLY get reset or not BUT my main complaint here are the restrictions that are placed on you UNTIL you get those milestone levels. For example, at Milestone Level 2 (Level 100) in Fishing, you unlock the Fishing Bounty Board which sounds alright. From my understanding, it's basically a gather-and-deliver task mashed into one. "Go gather x fish and then deliver them to this person" sort of thing. I wish I was able to provide my actual opinions on this, but I didn't even bother with it as they capped it to Milestone level 2. Instead? For new players you just get to walk around and figure it all out by yourself. The developers have locked me out of this content because they weren't able to hook me on the game fast enough to get to the point of unlocking the additional "content" in the game. I am not averse to grinding. I play RuneScape and I was really wishing for a lot given the developers' success with that IP, but I have been consistently let down two years later. There is unguided and then there's not giving new players a chance to even experience the game. People need to be able to play the game in order to dream of enjoying it. Overall, the New Player Experience is dreadful and this "MMO" feels so dead even though it seems like there's still an active community behind it. Get rid of the privacy stuff (at least by default) and rethink the New Player Experience and then I'll come check it out again. For now, it's being uninstalled.
