genuinely one of the best games of all time edit: until chapter 9, chapter 9 is genuine on a level of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that i cannot tolerate as unlike the rest of the game which i loved it seems like its a random trial and error instead of just being difficult like the rest of the game.
love the game little difficult to get into at first but its so fun to explore!
I've learned in school that acid rain is often man-made. Brigand: Oaxaca has taught me that the man who makes it is a cackling geriatric who replaced all his meals with cocaine and who will, upon catching a single glimpse of you, announce his current mood in the form of a riddle and approach at Mach 3 to show you the edge of his poisoned katana and the effect of voodoo lightning on your nether regions. We are BFFs now.
Fun for a bit but the jank got to me too much.
This one's great!! One of the hardest RPGs I've ever played but man it is fun if you are looking for more games in the vein of fallout new vegas and deus ex (and if those games don't provide sufficient challenge for you) First playthrough: 30 hours, final score 5/10, difficulty Normal
Greatest first person RPG game I've played yet
It's very charming but very rough around the edges. I love the music and general atmosphere the game has. The writing is pretty decent and the story was interesting enough to keep me going. There's lots of ways to solve problems and it pays to stop and think up new tactics when dealing with enemies. It's a great thing that once enemies are dead, they're dead for good instead of respawning. It really adds to the sense of accomplishment when you take down a horde of demons or some tough hostiles - just don't forget to run back to a bed and save your progress! I'm a big fan of roleplaying and the RPG elements are implemented well from what I can tell from my time playing. I enjoyed myself quite a bit. Now for my problems with it which bother me enough to ruin the experience. It's just very unfair sometimes. Lots of enemies are super fast and they'll jump out at you from nowhere before you have any hope of reacting. There's a lot of trial-and-error in every part of the game I've seen so far. You'll rarely be able to think on your feet in the heat of battle. You'll notice something you can exploit with the terrain or remember a few grenades you had lying around and do better next time with the newfound knowledge you gained on your last doomed run. I'm not sure I'll ever beat this completely, the difficulty gets to be a bit much for me and it makes me angry and stressed. And yet, I still really liked my time with Brigand Oaxaca and I think I'll play more of it in the future. It's unlike anything I've ever played. If you have a tolerance for unpolished games that are very hard, give it a shot. It's definitely got good times to offer if you've got the taste for it.
Good game.
