Brave Princess Milia is a niche fantasy RPG that wears its intentions openly—part playful anime adventure, part empowerment fantasy, and part character-focused spectacle. Developed by Circle Fairy Flower and published by Dieselmine, the game centers on a protagonist who dies at the hands of the celebrated hero-princess Milia, only to return by possessing her body. From there, the story unfolds as a revenge-driven reclamation of identity and power, framed within a lighthearted yet dramatic fantasy setting. Rather than leaning into political complexity or sweeping worldbuilding, the narrative keeps a tight focus on Milia herself, her reputation, and the consequences of having her agency suddenly replaced by someone she wronged. It’s a setup that gives the player immediate stakes and a mischievous dynamic that fuels much of the game’s humor and tension. Visually, Brave Princess Milia embraces a stylized anime aesthetic, prioritizing character appeal and expressive portraits over intricate environments or ambitious cinematics. Milia’s design is clearly meant to be the centerpiece, and that focus continues through her progression, dialogue interactions, and the wide wardrobe of alternate outfits—from battle gear to casual wear to playful costume variations. These outfits are not just cosmetic accessories but integral to the game’s tone, rewarding progression with visual novelty and reinforcing the fantasy of taking over a respected royal figure and reshaping her public image. Enemy designs and environments are serviceable, leaning into familiar fantasy silhouettes and locations—forests, villages, caves, fortress interiors—without attempting to redefine genre expectations. The presentation feels comfortable and intentionally familiar, supported by upbeat sound effects and music that keep the energy light rather than ominous. Gameplay follows a straightforward loop built around combat encounters, exploration segments, and event-driven dialogue scenes. Instead of intricate RPG systems with layered builds or branching skill trees, Brave Princess Milia keeps its mechanics accessible, letting players win battles through basic action timing, simple resource management, or stat-based progression. The sense of progression comes less from growing complexity and more from the continual reinforcement of the protagonist’s newfound power—the feeling that Milia, now inhabited, becomes the unstoppable force the kingdom had always believed her to be. This design philosophy makes the game easy to pick up and forgiving to players who prefer momentum over challenge. For some, that breeziness is a benefit; for others, especially RPG fans seeking tactical depth or evolving mechanics, the simplicity may reduce long-term engagement. Where the game stumbles is in repetition and pacing. Once the core combat and exploration loop is understood, later stages do little to expand upon it, resulting in encounters that feel like slight variations on earlier ones rather than meaningful escalations. Dialogue sequences and event scenes help break up the rhythm, but the emotional stakes rarely evolve beyond the initial premise. Because so much of the game’s appeal relies on Milia’s charisma and the novelty of unlocking new outfits or scenes, players uninterested in character-driven fan-service may find themselves running out of motivation before the story concludes. Technical polish can also vary—some translations feel abrupt or literal, transitions can be stiff, and interface navigation occasionally lacks fluidity. These issues are not severe enough to derail the experience, but they reinforce the impression of a modestly scoped indie project rather than a fully cinematic RPG. However, Brave Princess Milia succeeds in a way many niche titles strive to: it knows exactly who it’s made for. Players who enjoy light RPG progression, comedic fantasy settings, heroine-centric storytelling, and visual unlockables will likely find it charming, playful, and satisfying in short sessions. It never burdens the player with systems that demand spreadsheets, min-maxing, or dozens of hours of grinding. Instead, it offers a compact fantasy romp with enough personality to stand out within its corner of the genre. The possession concept provides a fresh narrative twist, and the game embraces its melodramatic premise without irony or hesitation, which gives it a distinct tone compared to more conventional JRPGs. Brave Princess Milia is not the kind of RPG meant to redefine the medium, and approaching it with that expectation is a disservice to what it actually offers. It thrives as a character-first fantasy with accessible gameplay, stylish presentation, and a tongue-in-cheek narrative about revenge, identity, and stolen agency. For players who appreciate short-form anime RPGs built around character appeal rather than mechanical ambition, it delivers a focused, entertaining experience. For those seeking expansive worldbuilding, strategic combat, or emotional depth beyond its comedic premise, it may feel too thin. But within its intended scope, it remains confident, lively, and unapologetically playful—a compact adventure powered by a single princess with a very complicated day. Rating: 6/10
Even if the adult element of the game is basically not visible, it is unkind that there is no notification message from the distributor. It may be necessary to install a patch to proceed, but the story progress is blocked because it cannot enter the general store. I mean... it's okay. Once you go through the opening, you basically have free access to the whole world. Instead of having to worry about leveling up, you instead have to try to avoid losing levels; either way the game is incredibly easy. The lack of direction too, in such an open world makes your task more annoying than it needs to be. Honestly, this game would have benefited narratively from a more linear approach, and the fact that you start the game at max level make any sense of progress imperceptible. Basically, the only reason to play this is for the H - which is admittedly pretty decent; and you get a pretty wide array of costumes all of which appear in the CGs. Additionally, there are a fair few kinks in here too - the odd tentacle, slimes, nipple-f*cking, drug use, & pregnancy. At the beginning of your second run (after a 1st virgin run; or 2/3 of your way through your first corrupt run), you'll have access to an item that will allow you to change Milia into a loli, if that's your thing. If you manage to complete a virgin run, you get an item that allows to freely control H-state - the aforementioned loli body, as well as whether or not Milia is pregnant, bukkake'd, w/ "grotesque" nipples/vagina, etc. (Be advised - NONE of the loli scenes are necessary to beat the game regardless of if you're aiming for a virgin or corrupt run.) Like I said - it's decent. There isn't anything really /wrong/ with the game... but everything apart from the H is so half-assed it's not easy to truly get invested in it. But credit where it's due, at least they didn't really do poorly on any of the more objective aspects (even the localization is rock solid). 6/10
I'M SURE I SAW THIS HANIME SOME WEAR -_-
I made a normal ending, and it was so-so BORING! Mila's dialogues are so short, and they have as much emotion as her character's IQ. >___< Quests from the Academy are all is very predictable, collect some these and bring that. Collect a lot's of money (by killing one monster or found a treasures for a lot's of times) to make progression. BUT I'm angry just because a developers didn't added a patch for a broken game (for normal ending). I spent some time to open a twitter page, to found a patch and download it in about an hour and a half.... aaaaah WHY!?
