Bramble: The Mountain King

I have a lot to say about this game. I got this game on a massive sale and I will say that I think that is the only way it should be purchased. The price point for this game is absurd not only for length of gameplay but for quality of it as well. Initially, this game is quite charming, albeit with clunky controls. Olle can be quite difficult to control at time, with keyboard or with controller. However, I was fine overlooking that as the game seemed to have some cohesiveness in how it worked and the level at which the difficulty rested. But past a certain point, it became tedious and frustrating. Where it had a logical route at one point, it dissolves that with next to no notice while also throwing in new mechanics or ways of navigating the terrain that are not intuitive. This makes much of the later game a trial-and-error as you unsuccessfully evade death time and time again. Olle will also seemingly get a mind of his own at times and decide not to climb things. Many times I thought something was unclimbable because he would simply jump in front of it. I'd look up a guide and it would tell me that was the correct way to go and I'd have to orient Olle perfectly to get it to work. The music is fine and the storytelling is okay as well. I didn't care much for any of the characters so what happened to 99% of them wasn't really something I was terribly worried about. Some of the boss fights were cool then the mechanics would get beaten to death and all life would be sucked from them. For a game from 2023 the graphics are okay, since there was clipping in cutscenes and some of it just looked sloppy at times. I truly wanted to like this game but the more I played, the more frustrated I became. I am all for games that are challenging, but this game presented as a relatively simple puzzle game with platforming and horror elements and then decided it wanted to be tedious at the drop of a hat.

Чудова дуже темна і дуже моторошна казка. Гра нагадує вайбом brothers a tale of two sons, але інша. Скандиавська, фолькльорна, та дуже темна. Проходиться за 5 годин, мені дуже сподобалася.

[/h2] Bramble; İskandinav folklorunda şeytanın cennetten kovulduktan sonra üstüne düşerek lanetlendiğine inanılan bir bitkidir. Oyunumuz da ismi kadar içeriğini, bu karanlık mitolojiden ve halk hikayelerinden alıyor. Hikaye, bir annenin iki çocuğuna gece masalı anlatmasıyla başlıyor. Bir süre sonra ana karakterimiz Olle uyanıyor ve kardeşi Lillemor’u yanında göremiyor. Endişeye kapılan Olle, kardeşinin bir maceraya atılmış olabileceğinden şüphelenip camdan aşağı iniyor. Etraf, daha önce kardeşiyle oynadığı o tanıdık bahçeden çok farklı; daha çok annesinin anlattığı o gizemli masalları andırıyor. Kısa süre sonra kardeşini bulsa da işler umduğu kadar güzel gitmiyor; Lillemor bir troll tarafından kaçırılıyor ve Olle kardeşini kurtarmak için amansız bir mücadelenin içine düşüyor. Oyunun temel aldığı konsept tek kelimeyle muazzam. İçeriğinde filmlerden aşina olduğumuz cüceler ve troller gibi birçok mitolojik varlık barındırıyor. Bu durum başarılı bir anlatımla birleşince, sizi ister istemez içine çekiyor ve adeta bir masal kitabının içindeymiş gibi hissettiriyor. Genel yapı olarak bulmaca, parkur ve boss savaşlarının hepsini içeren, insanı sıkmayan bir döngü oluşturulmuş. Hani bazı oyunlar hikaye anlatacağım diye oyuncuyu sürekli ara sahneye boğar ya, işte bu öyle değil; hikayeyi oynatarak veriyor. Oynanışı genel olarak rahat ve akışkan mekaniklere sahip olsa da, kameranın bizim kontrolümüzde olmaması ve tırmanma mekanikleri zaman zaman can sıkabiliyor. Öte yandan, çocuk oyuncağı olmayan, oldukça dengeli bir boss savaş sistemine sahip. Grafikleri, sanat tasarımı ve müzikleri muazzam; özellikle hikaye anlatımını bu görsellikle birleştirmeyi çok iyi becermişler. Görsel tarzı iç açıcı olduğu için oynarken gözüm hiç yorulmadı. Yapım, korkuyu basit jumpscare sahnelerinden ziyade tamamen atmosfer ve anlatıyla aktarmaya çalışıyor; dolayısıyla kendinizi oyuna vermeden, speedrun atar gibi aceleyle oynamamanız gerek. Oyunun o masalsı tatlılığına da kesinlikle aldanmayın; yeri geldiğinde bebeklerin karanlık ayinlerde kullanılmasını gösterecek kadar vahşi bir tona bürünüyor. Günün sonunda bütüne baktığımda; tahmin edilebilir olsa da su gibi akıp giden hikayesiyle beni fazlasıyla tatmin eden bir yapım gördüm. 15 dolarlık fiyat etiketini sonuna kadar hak ediyor. Özellikle resmi Türkçe dil desteğinin olması da bu tarz bir oyun için bulunmaz nimet. 8/10

Очень атмосферная игра, интересная мифология, отличный саундтрек. Качественная игра, сделанная с душой.

Man this game got really dark really fast... but what a rollercoaster of emotions! So worth it to see my boy, Olle, Kobe that rainbow crack rock in the end for the dub! Definitely looking forward to what Dimfrost Studios puts out next. Also, Lemus the GOAT <3

Мрачное приключение, в основе которого лежит аутентичный скандинавский фольклор и сказки. Игра контрастирует чередованием солнечных локаций с чумными деревнями и местами жестоких ритуалов. Финальная глава разворачивается под эпическую аранжировку классического шедевра Эдварда Грига «В пещере горного короля», и становится кульминацией этой сказки.
