Bouncing Bob: A Whimsical Adventure of Bouncing Bliss Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) Introduction: Bouncing Bob is a delightful and addictive game that transports players into a charming world where bouncing on enemies' heads is the name of the game. Developed with meticulous attention to detail, this game delivers an immersive and joyous experience like no other. With its vibrant visuals, clever level design, and intuitive controls, Bouncing Bob captivates players of all ages. Graphics and Sound Design: The visuals of Bouncing Bob are a feast for the eyes. The game features colorful and beautifully designed environments, bursting with life and personality. Each level feels distinct, taking players through a variety of imaginative settings, from lush forests to treacherous caves.
Bouncy Bob is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro mobile-app like platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one has a twist, it's incredibly dumbed down to the point it barely counts as a platformer, instead, you have an Angry Birds style flinging action that you use to fling yourself from platform to platform. You can flap your arms, too, but that doesn't work properly because the developer didn't bother to test the game properly. Needless to say this is clearly trash just from the game conceptualisation, and the technical implementation is exactly the same. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes Bouncy Bob might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. The game is very badly optimised, despite having extremely low quality assets and visuals, poor production values and no real reason for a high workload on anyone's system, the game runs the GPU up to 100% immediately. While this may seem to be evidence of cryptomining, Valve checks for that prior to allowing a game on Steam through Steam Direct. It's more likely the developer just had no idea what they were doing and didn't do any optimisation. Regardless of the reason, if you don't want your PC getting thrashed needlessly by bad software, you might want to avoid this game. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 7 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Bouncy Bob has the ridiculous, laughable price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. Because this is the kind of game you can just play for free on mobile phones, it's impossible to recommend anyone should pay money for the same experience on Steam.
Decent platformer, but way too short for the achievements. It gets repetitive very fast. Still a fun time and a good price on sale!
Ciekawa rozgrywka z bounsującymi Bobami.
It's not bad, but it's also not good. A game playable for up to 30 minutes.
