This is a total mess going into it, people arnt kidding in the reviews that its in no way related to its simulation side, its a walking-sim story game, with horror aspects. Mostly memes, the tags arnt a joke, they are accurate. If your looking for a booze-sim, this is not it. Aside that, the voice acting is inconsistent, the movements janky, and its fairly buggy of a game. It felt like it could have been funny and fun, but fell extremely short. There is almost no options to adjust your gameplay, but there is at least audio options. Screen resolution options are a joke, dont hope for them to work well.
No po prostu Asmodev....
10/10 whatever you think this is, it's not 10/10 play and find out 10/10 MontyPythonMetroidBoozeVania?
I have asked for an option to invert the mouse Y-axis controls in April 2022 -- no reaction from the devs until today...
Booze Masters: Freezing Moonshine, developed and published by Asmodev, is a surreal and darkly comedic first-person adventure that merges the mechanics of crafting and exploration with a deeply bizarre narrative. Set in a remote, snow-covered corner of the world, the game casts you as Quella, a young woman escaping a toxic workplace and chasing a dream of becoming an influencer. Her flight from the modern world leads her into a desolate motel community where eccentric locals, supernatural forces, and a mysterious moonshine trade intertwine. From the very beginning, Booze Masters establishes itself as a game that refuses to be pinned down—it’s equal parts absurdist satire, survival sim, and folk horror fable, all wrapped in a thick layer of indie experimentation. Its tone is disarmingly strange but consistent in its strangeness, capturing that unique blend of chaos and curiosity that defines Asmodev’s work. The core gameplay of Booze Masters centers on growing ingredients, crafting alcoholic concoctions, and experimenting with alchemical processes that blur the line between reality and hallucination. Quella must learn to distill moonshine using various stills and plants that she cultivates or scavenges in the environment, with each recipe producing results that may be useful, humorous, or downright disturbing. These systems are simple at first glance—grow, collect, brew—but the game adds enough interactive steps and timed actions to make them feel tactile. Every stage of the process carries an element of risk, whether it’s botching the mixture, overcooking a batch, or drawing unwanted attention from strange figures wandering the frozen woods. The crafting loop is occasionally rough around the edges, but it offers a rewarding sense of discovery. The joy of figuring out how to create a new brew or upgrade your equipment outweighs the frustration of its unpolished mechanics. The world itself is the real star of the experience. Booze Masters unfolds in a series of interconnected locations that mix rustic environments with the surreal imagery of fever dreams—frozen forests, creaky motels, snow-covered barns, and makeshift laboratories where nature and madness coexist. The art direction embraces its indie roots, opting for stylized simplicity over realism. The result is a world that feels simultaneously eerie and cartoonish, its low-fi aesthetic serving as a canvas for its weird humor and macabre undertones. The visuals might not impress in a technical sense—textures are flat, animations can be clunky, and object physics are unpredictable—but there is a deliberate roughness to it all. The world feels hand-built, imperfect, and slightly off-kilter, as if it were stitched together by the same kind of madness that defines its characters. The lighting, combined with the perpetual winter gloom, deepens the sense of isolation while the scattered warm interiors offer rare moments of reprieve. Narratively, the game walks a fine line between satire and sincerity. On the surface, Booze Masters is a send-up of influencer culture and escapist fantasies, poking fun at modern obsessions with fame, productivity, and self-image. Beneath that humor, however, lies a darker undercurrent about disillusionment and the absurdity of trying to find meaning in chaos. The dialogue is self-aware, often breaking tone to mock its own weirdness, while side characters veer between comic caricature and unnerving mystery. The appearance of supernatural elements—particularly the enigmatic snowman figure known as Zero Karoten—adds an additional layer of surreal tension. None of it adheres to traditional storytelling structure, yet it fits together through sheer force of personality. It’s less a cohesive narrative and more a series of strange encounters stitched together by a central theme of transformation, both literal and metaphorical. The gameplay’s rhythm alternates between periods of quiet crafting and bursts of odd exploration or puzzle-solving. Quella spends much of her time collecting materials, brewing spirits, and experimenting with new recipes, but the game also throws in moments of unpredictable challenge—platforming segments, logic-based puzzles, and interactions that rely on timing or observation. Unfortunately, this is where Booze Masters shows its roughest edges. The movement system can feel awkward, with clumsy jumping and collision detection that make certain sequences more frustrating than fun. The puzzles, while imaginative, sometimes suffer from unclear objectives or inconsistent logic. Still, there’s a certain charm in its unpredictability; every time the game threatens to lose you with an awkward mechanic, it pulls you back in with another dose of strange humor or a beautifully bizarre scene that feels ripped from a dream. Where Booze Masters truly excels is in its atmosphere and sound design. The audio work enhances the sense of isolation and peculiarity. The ambient noises of wind, creaking wood, and distant howls are punctuated by bursts of odd music that shift from ominous to absurd without warning. The voice acting leans intentionally exaggerated, contributing to the game’s offbeat tone. Combined with the absurd writing, the result is an experience that feels like a feverish folk tale told by someone who’s had a little too much of their own brew. It’s haunting, funny, and unsettling all at once—a cocktail of tones that should not work together but somehow do. Despite its ambition and distinct identity, Booze Masters: Freezing Moonshine remains a niche experience. Its rough edges—occasional bugs, inconsistent controls, and the simplicity of its core systems—will frustrate players seeking polish or depth. Yet for those drawn to experimental games that value atmosphere and eccentricity over precision, it offers a strangely captivating journey. It’s the kind of game that lingers in the mind not because of technical excellence but because of how unapologetically weird and human it feels. Asmodev has crafted something messy, bold, and memorable—a frostbitten dream of moonshine, madness, and meaning that defies categorization. Like the spirits you brew within it, Booze Masters is a concoction best sipped slowly and appreciated for its peculiar flavor. Rating: 8/10
Mimo to nadal czujemy ten sam charakterystyczny klimat studia: połączenie czarnego humoru, polskiego absurdu i niepodrabialnego stylu narracji, mocno odchylonego od globalnych norm i standardów.
musiałem zrobić nowy save bo mi się coś znikło i nie mogłem przejść dalej super moje 5 godzin w błoto Polecam każdemu zagrać jeśli lubisz wytwarzać alko =b
Lineární příběh se simulátorem. Vtipné ,zábavné. Hrajete za streamerku, polskou. Hry od studia Asmodev jsou fakt skvělé. Je to jakoby pokračování od Priest simulator?
