About
Space colonization takes a lot of work and is super dangerous. Far too dangerous for humans, so monkeys will have to do it!
Bonkies is a space-monkey simulator where you experience life as a crew of bionic monkeys building the future of humanity among the stars, paid by the hour in bananas. Build moon habitats, rockets and floating space hotels - heck why not a nuclear reactor or two on a lake of frozen methane? Anything is possible when you strap a jetpack on a monkey, equip it with an industrial strength robot arm and wave goodbye to labor rights!
Hello there! Here you are! And here are your friends!
Your job is to pick up these blocks and stack them within the blue outline.
Sometimes you'll need to use other, less conventional types of blocks.
Things might get tricky.
But you’ve got this! Have fun!
Build intricate (read: crazy dangerous) structures that just need to pass the 3-second inspection
Get hired by megalomaniacal space moguls (Yes, there are more than one) who will flush you out the airlock as soon as you mention unionization
Utilize special building blocks and tools, some more nuclear than others
Build on various surfaces: Good old martian soil, islands floating in water, islands floating in lava(!) and in zero gravity
Travel across the solar system, from Earth all the way to Pluto, and beyond! (70 levels+)
Unlock a veritable Zoo of the cutest astronauts imaginable (yes, there is a cat)
Beat the developer times on each level to earn the coveted Golden Banana Bunch
Ace entire planets for special secret rewards
Original music track by Philip Dahlstrøm (His chill beats will surely calm your rising blood pressure)
There are still economy seats available on the banana shaped rocket!

Super jeu en coop Maniabilité au top! Un must!
I played in co-op with 3 other friends and I loved it. Its a goofy fun puzzle game and has some great puzzle and challenge to it as well.
Bonkies, developed by Studio Gauntlet and published by Crunching Koalas, is a delightful and chaotic cooperative physics-based construction game that combines teamwork, precision, and slapstick humor into a colorful and heartwarming space adventure. The premise is simple yet absurd in the best way possible: players control adorable monkeys in robotic suits, each equipped with a banana-powered jetpack and a mechanical grabber arm, as they travel from planet to planet building structures to aid in humanity’s expansion into the cosmos. What unfolds is a series of increasingly complex challenges that demand coordination, patience, and plenty of laughter as players fumble, crash, and cheer their way through tasks that are equal parts problem-solving and comedy. The first thing that stands out about Bonkies is its charm. The art direction is bright and cartoonish, with expressive characters and environments that radiate positivity. Every monkey suit is distinct and endearing, the animations are full of personality, and the environments are vibrant with a whimsical sci-fi flair. The soundtrack complements this perfectly, with upbeat, cheerful tunes that make even repeated failures feel lighthearted rather than frustrating. There’s a sincere warmth to the game’s presentation that makes it accessible to players of all ages, which is refreshing in a genre that often leans into competitive chaos. Bonkies embraces cooperation over rivalry, turning what could have been a test of skill into a shared experience filled with teamwork and laughter. The core gameplay revolves around constructing predefined shapes using a set of scattered blocks and materials. Players must pick up and stack objects in a way that matches the outlined blueprint on screen before the timer runs out. The challenge comes not only from balancing pieces and fighting against gravity but also from managing the game’s intentionally clumsy physics. The robotic arms of the monkeys behave realistically, meaning every movement requires careful control and coordination. Add to that the fact that each player has a jetpack that can overheat if used too long, and you’ve got a recipe for delightful chaos. The feeling of just barely managing to complete a structure as it wobbles precariously in the final seconds is exhilarating, and when it all collapses, it’s just as fun to laugh about it with your friends before trying again. Bonkies is clearly designed with multiplayer in mind, and that’s where it shines brightest. Up to four players can join in, and the game quickly becomes a cooperative dance of communication and timing. Success depends on how well everyone works together—handing off blocks, holding pieces steady, and adjusting the structure as a team. The joy of the experience comes not only from the satisfaction of success but from the hilarity of failure. Watching a tower collapse because someone bumped the wrong piece, or seeing a teammate lose control of their jetpack and spin into orbit, creates the kind of spontaneous moments that make party games memorable. The physics system encourages this chaos without feeling unfair; it’s demanding but always playful, ensuring that the frustration never overshadows the fun. Playing solo is possible, but it changes the tone of the game considerably. Without teammates to share the load, Bonkies becomes a much more methodical and challenging puzzle experience. The satisfaction of completing a level remains, but it lacks the lively, unpredictable energy that makes the cooperative mode so endearing. It’s clear that the developers intended this to be a shared experience, and while solo players can still enjoy the clever design of the levels, they’ll be missing the laughter and confusion that give the game its soul. Fortunately, the game’s control scheme is intuitive and well-optimized for controllers, making it easy for anyone to pick up and play, whether they’re seasoned gamers or complete beginners. As players progress through the campaign, the difficulty ramps up naturally. Early levels serve as gentle tutorials, teaching the fundamentals of lifting, stacking, and stabilizing objects, while later stages introduce new mechanics and environmental hazards that keep the experience fresh. Some planets feature lower gravity, making objects float more easily but harder to control, while others add unstable materials like glass or magnetized blocks that require careful handling. The progression feels rewarding, and the variety ensures that no two missions feel identical. The developers also included an incentive system in the form of bananas, which can be earned for completing levels quickly or efficiently and used to unlock new characters and customization options. While the unlocks are mostly cosmetic, they add a nice layer of motivation for completionists. One of the most impressive aspects of Bonkies is how it manages to be both challenging and welcoming. The levels demand precision and cooperation, but the bright visuals, forgiving physics, and humorous tone make failure feel like part of the fun. There’s no harsh penalty for mistakes—only the opportunity to learn and try again. This makes it an ideal game for families or casual gatherings, where players of varying skill levels can participate without feeling excluded. The game’s focus on communication and teamwork also makes it a surprisingly good test of group dynamics, as players must balance efficiency with patience to avoid devolving into chaos. That said, Bonkies does have limitations. The single-player mode, while functional, lacks the magic of the multiplayer experience and can feel more like a test of endurance than enjoyment. Additionally, while the game’s levels are varied, its structure can start to feel repetitive after extended play sessions, as the core loop of stacking and balancing doesn’t evolve dramatically beyond its foundational mechanics. However, these issues are minor when weighed against the joy it provides in short bursts or in social settings. The game is meant to be experienced in the moment—with friends laughing, shouting instructions, and trying to salvage collapsing builds before time runs out—and in that context, it succeeds beautifully. Ultimately, Bonkies is a delightful example of what makes cooperative gaming special. It’s simple to learn, endlessly entertaining in a group, and infused with charm from start to finish. The combination of clever physics puzzles, vibrant visuals, and absurd humor makes every session memorable, even when everything goes wrong. While it might not have the depth or longevity of more complex physics games, it excels at delivering pure, unfiltered fun. For anyone looking for a game to play with friends or family that emphasizes teamwork, laughter, and a healthy dose of monkey mayhem, Bonkies is an easy recommendation. It’s a celebration of chaos and cooperation—a joyful, lighthearted experience that reminds players why playing together can be so wonderfully unpredictable. Rating: 7/10

It tests your patience between your friends but it makes for a fun albeit stressful time (maybe this was just my friends!). But it's fun to see couch co-op games actually rely on teamwork without being another overcooked-like. It's criminal how few ratings this has.
Yes, I recommend this game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vki30S9BOD4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9FTvRjDqrk
Was asked to check out this game, was disappointed when I could not really play this alone (really vague how to do if you can), but once you have just one other friend(of son/daughter) to play with... FUN!
