Too many death traps undermine an otherwise nice idea, making the following playthroughs increasingly repetitive. The game begins with your character bound to a chair in a cellar. If you do not act quickly, you will die and the game will restart. A picture of the previous character will appear on the main screen, and you can try again with a different character trapped in the same circumstance. The basement is a "escape room" in which you must locate tools and codes to exit. You have no idea how it works because no ckues are provided and the controls are only available if you press "Esc". You can interact with various hotspots, but they are not identified, so you do not know they are there. The best approach is to try interacting with everything. Unfortunately, the basement is also a deadly trap. A single wrong move will undo all of your progress. For example, there is a trap door in the center of the room and a spike floor that must be passed by stepping on a wooden plank. But while those are visible, there are some that surprise you, like inputting a wrong code and blowing up when trying to turn off the alarm. After a few characters, you learn what you can or cannot do. A neat idea, but also very frustrating and repetitive. The reason for this is the first challenge, in which you must press multiple buttons to cause the chair to fall and dodge the fatal device. Then you have to roll on the ground toward the knife. After that, the real game begins. Codes learned with prior characters may shorten the next playthrough, but you must still complete all of the item-related steps.
