It's a very chill game. In theory it's a pretty lengthy experience due to the many building upgrades and combinations, as well as the many different ways you'll spend your money. The process is very smooth, but it isn't exactly fast paced. Hence the very chill game statement in the beginning. It has excellent pixel art, soothing music, and a chill gameplay loop. It's really something you have up while you are devoted to something else. Idler games are weird like that. Anyway, if you're looking for something you can play kind of in the background and just periodically jump into - this might be exactly what you're looking for.
Build booths, combine, upgrade, watch the sun set, X3 speed mode, see your money rolling in!
Love the game so much!! If you are into management sim game, you should definitely play this game! At first I'm not making much money and that really makes me competitive and addicted to the game >< I've start earning lots now and I'll try to get all the achievements!!~ Please add cloud saving so I can play it on my other devices!
Im not making money but I love the vibe 😌
Cute little sim. Nice music. I liked the art style and the variety of shops.
Really enjoyed this game! Very chill and easy to pick up. In the future I'd love to see more achievements added and think that the cost scaling should be heavily adjusted when you get to the later stages of the game. After maxing out visitors it feels like you're just waiting for the money to fill up for a bit. Still a great time though!
This game is so incredibly chill and I love the mechanic of combining stalls / games together to get new attractions, it makes it different to the usual level up system. I think the graphics are perfectly charming, and I'm excited to play more. I've been mostly playing this an idle game where I let my money rack up and then do some more upgrades, and I've loved it.
I love the pixel art. Great sim. Really scratches the management itch.
A charming and cute cozy little (idle) game. I've played the demo a year ago and now with the full game out I wasn't let down. Took me about 6 hours to get all achievements and it was a lot of fun figuring out the combination and finding a decent pace to guarantee plenty of surplus income to have a chill time. Highly recommend it if you want a game for a rainy afternoon!
Boardwalk Builders is another exceptional solo dev title from Joel @ Studio Primitive. It's a sim game, reminiscent of classic sim titles like Sim City and Rollercoaster Tycoon. There's a great level of attention to detail and polish to make a simple concept be incredibly charming and fun to just sit and observe as you manage your boardwalk. There's also a surprising level of depth, with a variety of systems to build out and upgrade. The pixel art is very enjoyable, and the soundtrack (also made by Joel) is calm and peaceful, and perfectly fitting for this style of game. If a "cozy" sim game is your jam, I encourage you to give this one a shot.
