Gavin and Aran are the best, but Erin is the soulmate The only negative point is the repetitive part, not much special moments when you go into a specific route.
This is a cute otome visual novel. Sure, there may be a few errors here or there, but it makes up for it with the story and characters. This otome will not blow your mind, but it will give you about 12 hours of pleasant distraction. Even with the negative reviews, including some written by influential people, I am glad that I picked this up and read it to form my own opinion. I would have been sad if I had missed out on this gem.
I liked it at first, until the story became darker...
I genuinely wish there were neutral reviews. It's not TERRIBLE but its not good either. I recommend getting it on sale if you're interested but honestly buying another otome would be more worth it. Only negative because I cannot recommend this game but genuinely wish I could put neutral instead.
china text come on.
A marginal thumbs up. For my first indie epic fantasy visual novel/dating simulator, it wasn't bad. I could tell a lot of effort went into the story, and it's obviously a labor of love. That said, our protagonist could've been a bit more likable, imho, and visuals wise there were a lot of scenes that I though should have been shown more clearly, not simply glossed over in text. The art overall was good enough, there just wasn't a lot of variation - considering there were so few characters and locations. 15.99 is too much, but if you pick this up in a bundle or for $5 or less, and you like visual romance, knock yourself out.
I really wanted to like this game, but in the end the story and characters just fell short. Blue Rose has an interesting concept, and when I had played through the demo it made me want to buy the game. Sadly, after purchasing the full game, what we got in the demo wasn't much different then the rest of the game. The characters and world are so fascinating, and I found myself waiting for them both to be expanded on, but they never did. The story just feels long and drawn out for the sake of it, and I feel like spending less time just meandering about and more time actually progressing the plot and characters would have made this game more interesting. I was willing to take the game at face value after a certain point, but then so many things just weren't explained. Why did these people hide in the mountains? How is the magic system supposed to work? Why is leena in love with any of these people? I liked the romance choices for as one note as they were, but there was absolutely no chemistry between Leena and anyone really and I found half of the characters grating after a certain point in the game. The villain reveal was somewhat shocking, but at the same time, I was expecting the character to pop back up again. Once again, really one note, and the action scenes were not well thought out at all, and just seemed like a ton of tropes thrown in because this took place in a fantasy setting. I liked the music in the game, and the atmosphere was nice. I finished 1 route in the game and haven't opened it again since, despite at least wanting to read the extra stories and seeing the other romantic routes I didn't take, so I think that speaks volumes on how much of a let down this game was. I got this game on sale, and if you're even remotely curious, wait for it to go on sale to play it. If I had gotten it full price, I would have been pretty upset with what I got in the end.
