About

Lead your team of Gladiators in turn-based arena battles, recruiting, training, and sometimes sacrificing them for glory. But remember, your Gladiators are mortal - If they fall in battle, they are lost forever... though their legacy will live on.
As a noble heir, you'll manage your city by unlocking, constructing, and upgrading buildings that provide new services and mechanics to aid you on your bloody quest for vengeance.

You fought tooth and nail for survival, driven by a burning hatred and a thirst for justice. Now, as a wealthy patron and a gladiator trainer, you plot your revenge against the tyrannical Emperor who stole your freedom and murdered your father. But the path to redemption is fraught with peril, and you must navigate a treacherous world filled with deception and danger.
Recruit new allies and expand your gladiator team to climb the ranks of the brutal tournaments. Each victory brings you closer to the grand Capitol, where your ultimate target - the Emperor, lost in his madness - awaits on his throne.

Before each battle, assemble a team of gladiators from various classes: physical, ranged, or magical. Will you pay gold, duel them, or show mercy in the arena to recruit them?
Level them up, increase their stats, and learn new abilities to ensure they're battle-ready. Don't forget to address any negative statuses or traumas, and equip them with shiny new weapons, armor, and consumables.
Use powerful Deity abilities to aid your Gladiators in battle, or make a shady deal with a local crime lord to sabotage your enemies before the battle even begins.

Combat unfolds in turn-based battles on a grid, where units act in order of initiative. Strategically move your gladiators, attack, and position them to outsmart and outmaneuver your opponents.
Use your action points wisely - unleash powerful weapon or class abilities, make use of items like potions and magical scrolls, or set traps on the ground to catch enemies off guard.
Win the favor of the audience by fulfilling their bloodthirsty wishes and reap rewards after each battle. But beware - permadeath is on. If a gladiator falls, they and their equipment are lost forever, adding high stakes to every decision.

You’ve inherited an estate overlooking the desolate coastal city of Marevento, and the city’s future now rests in your hands.
Between battles, use your hard-earned gold to build and upgrade city buildings, unlocking new tools and services to aid you in your quest for vengeance. From the infirmary, where your gladiators can recover, to the bustling market for trading items, and even a grand monument to honor fallen gladiators.
Defeat each region’s Arena Champion to advance the age and access powerful new buildings and items.
Are you ready to rise to the challenge and carve your name into history?

JUEGAZO, UNA MAL MOVIMIENTO Y SE TE JODE TODO JAJAJA ME ENCANTA
Solid little tactic's battler. The great thing is, it's challenging but at the same time "go at your own pace", so a nice relaxing game to jump in and out of. This is in contrast to say, X-Com, which was more CLENCH THOSE CHEEKS AND DON'T RELAX EVER! If you like the game-play of grid combat, this is a good pickup.

I think this is a very good game. If you love tactical combat, you should pick it up. It is somewhat similar to Into the Breach when it comes to the tactical battles themselves. The game is more complex, though, has a roguelike layer of city management with a variety of the usual things to do and some clever new things (think: build out your town, level your gladiators, buy items at the shop, level the shop, gain quests, patronage, deity favors, etc.) I would certainly recommend it.

Other than the randomness that is the afflictions you get when your team is hit by a critical this is a lot of fun
TLDR; Bloodgrounds is fun, but I'm exactly the kind of gamer it was made for and the pacing even feels wrong to me. The premise is a relatively old one and hardly relevant to the gameplay for me thus far so I won't go too deep into it. You get a team of gladiators with different classes, fight them, during fighting they can die or receive traumas which means they have to skip a week resting in the infirmary or deal with pretty harsh debuffs. You can make basically any class work, but your gladiators have innate traits that make them more/less effective at their class and there's no way to change their class so you have to let people with great abilities walk or find a way to carve out a niche for them with equipment. I haven't played on anything but the hardest difficulty and even then the arena battles are mostly pretty easy especially if you're not trying to do audience favor quests, which are little conditions you can satisfy in a fight to get rewards. I should say, easy if you are patient and play conservatively. The AI is pretty good, but enemies will pursue lanes of attack consistently even if it means getting drawn into a killbox. Generally the only times I've been caught slipping have been when I've tried to speed battles up and try doing things differently, this along with some of the individual challenges certain fights receive can lead to bad things happening for you, which is good because it makes the game challenging. All your equipment shows up on character models which is a really nice touch and makes it worth getting new stuff even when the stat upgrades are marginal. You have a base to upgrade, each building offers a buff or new/modified aspect of gameplay. My only real gripe is the game can just take a lot of grinding. I've never been specifically level capped by anything but bosses are pretty difficult and you want your best with you. You have a lot of things for you fighters to do between expeditions (send them off on a % chance based on applicable talents to get rewards/buffs), so if you want your best to get these buffs they have to skip a fight, you'll be using others, they'll get traumas so they'll have to skip the following week etc. So you're fighting a lot of battles just to tread water until your main team is healthy and available but your buildings of certain tiers kind of max out after 2-3 battles once you've reached a new tier. It's still fun but some of these tune up battles can feel very low stakes and you just want to get to the bosses to progress. As said they are pretty difficult and if you bring a weak team you'll probably get mowed down (you could very easily lose with a strong team). All in all I really recommend but I don't know what cohort of gamers have the patience to see it through to the end, maybe these things are not as big of a deal on the lower difficulties but then the regular battles will probably be far too easy.
nice one!
I really like this game . No stupid story to skip through . Great theme . Would love to see some steam deck support : the controls are clunky on deck .
Juegazo de las mejores compras q hice, valio cada maldito sentavo las 85 horas q jugue las disfrute!.
I've really been enjoying the game so far. Between equipment, character traits, classes, and abilities, there's a lot of fun variation in team creation. The arenas provide different challenges that force you to use the environment in interesting ways.
