About

Weird West legends meet eldritch horror in BLOOD WEST, an immersive stealth FPS. Become the Undead Gunslinger, doomed to roam the barren lands until he finds the means to purge their curse and free his soul. No, this isn’t your typical Wild West desperado redemption arc. This is a damnation arc.
The Canyons, the Swamp, and the Mountains. Each swarming with abominable monsters and unholy demons, these are open-ended worlds for you to explore freely at your own pace. It will take the player over 20 hours on average to complete all three scenarios, and over 35 if they want to see everything the barren lands have to offer.
Blood West is a stealth FPS inspired by the genre classics such as the Thief series (whose fans will be happy to hear the voice of Stephen Russell, the actor voicing the master-thief Garrett, returning here as the protagonist), S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, or - from the contemporary catalog - Hunt: Showdown. The gameplay rewards the careful approach: scouting the area, stalking your enemies, and striking from the shadows. Can you figure out a way to clear a fort full of ghouls and monsters without raising an alarm?
The Barren Lands present the player with a nightmarish, twisted vision of the Wild West legends. The curse that has befallen the realm has corrupted every living thing, defiled the land itself, while summoning restless spirits and dark entities. In this mixture of gunslinger pulp and Lovecraftian horror, dark occult magick presents just as much of a threat as sudden lead poisoning.
In Blood West you will meet many colorful, yet strangely twisted, fully-voiced NPCs. Just as much prisoners of the Barren Lands as you are, they will sometimes share their unusual stories and send you on various missions. Play nice and they might reward you or become your allies. Cross them and risk their wrath.
The game won’t hold your hand. You’ll have to explore the land for yourself (buying a map from a vendor might prove useful!), and figure out your own way to approach quests. As you poke around the three expansive maps, keep an eye out for hidden places and secret stashes. There’s gold in the mountains! Fair warning - it’s probably cursed.
If sneaking around isn’t exactly your thing, or you feel that you have a power advantage over your enemies, you can always take the head-on approach and meet your enemies guns blazing. Blood West comes from the creators of the fan-favorite boomer shooter POSTAL: Brain Damaged, so much gratuitous fantasy violence and pixelated blood splatter is to be expected!
One man’s hell might be another hoarder’s paradise! From simple one-use items like bandages, through medical tinctures, explosives and incendiaries, straight to arcane artifacts that - once slotted - can change the way you play the game, the Barren Lands are just filled with STUFF. There are tons of useful items to discover, and there’s a special player’s stash crate for all those super-rare potions that you’ll hoard and never use.
A gunslinger without a gun would be just a regular slinger. Where’s the fun in that? Blood West makes sure you’ll have plenty of weapons to choose from. Revolvers, rifles, shotguns, carabines - a great variety of firearms, from standard army-issue to those infused with powerful magic, or straight-up possessed. And if you prefer not to cause a ruckus, there’s a wide selection of hand-to-hand combat weapons and archery weapons to pick your favorites from.
The RPG-like perk-based progression system in Blood West will allow you to highly customize the gameplay experience to your liking. Become a stealthy hunter, a revolver-fanning gunman or a relentless berserker. You will gain experience and progress through the skill tree, while discovering new artifacts in each of the scenarios that will bestow on you additional abilities. Combining skills and load-out creates more possible playstyles than you’d normally be able to explore in one playthrough.

Самобытная, как и все игры Hyperstrange, Blood West берет сеттинг дикого запада и выжимает его на полную

Blood West is a fantastic stealth game that rewards exploration heavily. Even if stealth is favoured, you can still go guns blazing if your aim is good. The base game has 3 maps (acts) with one boss each besides a lot to explore and side quests. The first DLC adds one extra act with a new playable character, different talents and weapons. Scavenger DLC is an endless mode with randomized enemy and item placement with quests that has modifiers to continue playing the game for as long as you feel like in an attempt to see how many missions you can do in a row without dying. Don't let the hours I have on steam fool you, before I got it on steam as well, I finished the base game 3 times just to buy it again on steam because these devs are actually that good and so is their game. 9.5/10 missing 0.5 because Scavenger doesn't have (at the moment of this review at least) the enemies neither the map of the first DLC. Wish they also had modding support and more modders that are willing to do something for this incredible game.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Blood West is a fun concept decently executed to create a fun satisfying western eldrich horror style stealth game. The DLC was ok in my opinion. While it does tread on new ground or remix existing gameplay it isnt anything to write home about. The best stealth I can compare to Blood West is Skyrim. Now opinions vary on if that is a compliment or criticism but I am saying it as a compliment. Or maybe I just cant unhear Mercer Frey (Stephen Russell) when the protagonist talks in Blood West. Anyway, It is a basic system with line of sight (180 degrees) and sound with crouching mitigating both as you move. I think it works well in Blood West and is a lot of fun. As someone who's done a few stealth archery/dagger builds in Skyrim I felt right at home. I have to give props to Blood West, they market this as a stealth game and it is one through and through. Running and gunning will only get you so far (an early hole in the desert grave). Your firearm options are revolvers, repeaters, shotguns and rifles. While some have excellent power and high capacities the nature of all of these weapons is that they are a slow rate of fire and a slower reload. This combined with the enemies in Blood West packing a wallop, you are very appropriately forced into approaching quests and exploration from a stealthy mindset. I adore the style of almost everything in this game. I think their graphic style, weapon design and enemy design are all fantastic. The npc designs are ok, I think their faces are a little wonky. There is a child character in the 2nd chapter whose face looks like a grown womans. This a bit of a nitpick, but combined with (some) of the voice acting for npcs being pretty weak it can take you out of those interactions. What I do love unabashedly is the way killing enemies feels in this game. A strong dagger strike timed well on an enemies head for an instant kill, a single gold shotgun shell to the face of a Vendigo, a few well placed headshots in a row with your repeater on a few animated dead charging you. None of it ever gets old. The story of Blood West is simple but not really of any note to me. I played this game for the gameplay. I cant imagine anyone getting much out of the story so dont play this if you're looking for something where that is a strong point. Side quests are minimal but simple and statisfying. I especially liked the boo-hag quest in chapter 3. Another really well done part of this game is how inventory management, ammunition types and items work. Looting, inventory management and exploring are necassary to really survive well in Blood West. Its straightforward and done well. Not so limiting its annoying but constrained enough to make you think about it. The normal difficulty of this game is fine, the only real difficulty spike I noticed was the start of chapter 3. If you're smart, stock up and play it slow you should be able to overcome it. I like the significant change in locations between the chapters. I think all 3 have their strengths with chapter 2 at the best and chapter 3 the weakest. The enemies in chapter 3 however make up for that. Now to talk about the DLC. Its ok. Dead Mans Promise is enough new stuff to be worth it for me. The new enemies, location, npc's and weapons are unique and interesting. You could in theory make a very viable summoner build in this dlc. I did not do that. I scraped and clawed until I had a solid revolver/repeater build. What almost took me out of the DLC is the difficulty spike of the beginning of the DLC. ESPECIALLY if you're coming right off the main game you will get tilted getting to a place where you dont die every 5 minutes. Another negative for me is the protagonists voice lines. No hate to the voice actor, the lines he was given are just beyond corny. The main game suffers from this as well but not to the degree displayed here. Very eye-roll inducing. Scavangers is unremarkable. I saw it marketed as a "5$ DLC that could've been a stand alone game". This is accurate because it is not worth more than 5 bucks. If Blood West ceased to exist and scavengers was left then yeah it could stand alone however if you tried to sell this as a stand alone game next to Blood West I'd laugh in your face. Its the same enemies, locations, weapons, npcs (except one unremarkable new one) and a string of fetch quests and simple missions. I didnt *dislike* achievement hunting and tracking down all the collectibles but Scavangers did nothing for me and could be skipped in my opinion. Overall I enjoyed my time in Blood West, I was happy to 100% it. If you're looking for a fun simple and unique stealth game you'll have fun playing this game. 7/10
Story (1/5)
The story exists only to get you from one chapter to another. It is very bland and bad, since it has no direction at all. Just go from point A to B, collect the item, go back to point A, and get another quest to go from A to C. Pretty much every quest from every NPC is the same ♥♥♥♥. Also the game has no real ending.
Gameplay (4/5)
Technically, it is very well made. You have a variety of weapons, relics, and perks to play the game the way you want. The problem that I have with the gameplay is that you get OP way too quickly. By the end of ch1, I was so well equipped that I could handle ch2 with ease. All the tension that was in ch1 was lost in ch2 and ch3. Other than that, I liked all the secret and special items that you could find around the map. But all 3 bosses sucked ♥♥♥♥.
Difficulty (2/5)
Starts off great. Ch1 is filled with so much tension, stealth, and resource management that I really like in games. However, ch2 and ch3 turn into shooting galleries real quick, which is a shame since the enemies do get tougher in later chapters, but you get way more powerful than them. Simply put, game difficulty peaks at the start and drops off steeply in ch2.
Game Time (1.5/5)
Unfortunately, 20h is not a good selling point for the game. It would have been better if it was a more tight but difficult experience, similar to Gloomwood. So even though I like the first 10h, the other 20 dragged on way too much.
Graphics (5/5)
Personal preference, but I really do like this type of style.
Music/Sound design (3/5)
Music and sound design is pretty good. Voice acting is not bad as well, but the writing is.
Performance (5/5)
No issues.
Price (1/5)
Blood West is 24,99€. Way too expensive for what you get. Dare I say that 10€ might be too much. Now why would I say that? Well, Gloomwood, a very similar but better made game, costs 19,49€. Even though Gloomwood is not finished, it is already way better than what Blood West is. If it is around <=7€, then maybe I could recommend it to someone.
Final verdict (2.5/5)
Is this a bad game? No, but it is a very mid game that peaks at the start and continues to slowly drop off till the end. If you want a very similar game that is 100% better and cheaper, play Gloomwood.
game is fun, a looter shooter stealth rpg with a southern gothic vibe. playing this game made me realize how little fps games do loot+rpg systems and how more need it because this game would've been far less fun without them. i have 41/46 achievements done and achievement hunting was most of my hours, and it was actually fun too because they add a lot of side missions for people who are trying to 100%. the base game is up there among some of my favorite games i've played ever, and i even got to try out the beta test for their scavengers dlc. (it was great) that being said, i am this games target audience. a fps stealth imm simm western is heaven to me, but understandably, to some it is not. this game is pretty difficult. at one point (even if you have a pretty tanky build) you can get one shot in stage 3, and the first time you're starting out can also be a nightmare. its important to note that the level up stats are what make this game easier, so its pretty much an uphill battle until you level up more. headshots don't register the further away you are, which kinda pisses me off but at the same time i understand why. one thing that boils my blood is that this game has achievements that are locked to the dead mans promise DLC. usually this wouldn't be an issue, and this is my one true complaint, but the DLC is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful that it makes me sad because the designs are awesome, the weapons and loot look cool, but ♥♥♥♥ man. maybe its the fact it puts you back in the swamp that also ruins it for me, but the summons bugged out of the map constantly, everything one shots you, the boss in it will pulverize you if you went anything other than a rifle build (you'd think they'd learn something from deus ex about how builds affect bosses), and its missions were boring. this is also why i havent completely 100% the game, i cannot be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to go back and play more of the dlc. the only reason its not 0/10 is the cool mc, the dusk referenced melees, and the character design was immaculate as always. fortunately though it doesn't effect my experience with the base game; 9.6/10 base game, 2/10 dead mans promise, and the scavengers dlc was a fun 8.8/10 TLDR perfect base game but ♥♥♥♥ dead mans promise
One of the best games I've ever played. Fantastic atmosphere and a very intriguing story to go along with it. Very challenging and rewarding gameplay and many different playstyles, a lot to loot and explore. The npc interactions are not as complex as some people would want but they still help you find a lot about the story and offer you fun quests and cool bits of dialogue.
