Blood Alloy: Reborn

Just an absolutely brilliant little score-chaser action game. Plenty of variety in attacks, and gradually-intensifying swarms of enemies to mass-murder, reward muscle memory and planning. Got to 11k+ points and spawned the boss in the first day, hoping to go further and unlock more stages and weapons. Great little game that will only get better as the developer tweaks and adjusts everything.

Blood Alloy: Reborn is a 2D adventure that combines the elements of an old school game with a unique artistic tone along with a killer cyberpunk musical score. Old school gamers will be quick to fall in love with Blood Alloy: Reborn because of how it will remind them of classic games like Mega Man and Metroid. However one should not be quick to dismiss it as an attempt to tap into a gamers nostalgia. The gameplay combines the style of a run & gun with that of the hack & slash genre while adding elements of an RPG. Players earn XP by fighting-off waves of robots with their blaster or blade while performing special stunts. The gameplay may be old school but it’s the artistic design along with the musical score that makes Blood Alloy: Reborn a unique title. The musical score is an all too familiar tune that reminds gamers of cyberpunk classics like Blade Runner and Akira. Overall, Blood Alloy: Reborn is an example of why indie games have become so popular in the last few years. Suppressive Fire Games created something unique using a familiar setting while focused on the artistic tone.

As far as I am concerned, you play this sort of game to feel like a super-agile death-dealing ninja. I felt like a fumble-fingered fool.

This is the classic game that because of lack of quality tries to challenge the player with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controls. The difficulty to the game lies into getting used to the awful control system they've purposely put up to be psychotic and loose. Not recommened even for less than a buck. No need to trust me, just check other reviews. Don't buy it if you want to feel like smashing the keyboard and the mouse on the closest wall

A very challenging and fun game to play. Even if it had no score nor leaderboard, I'd definitely still play it for the satisfying combat. One of the few games (along with Risk of Rain, Hotline Miami and the likes) that actually make me feel super proud that I'm getting better at playing them over time. Progress is not only about unlocking new toys to play with. It can also be about finding new fun and new ways to play with whatever toys you already have.

Blood Alloy: Reborn does a fantastic job of staying true to the core of what a score attack game needs to be -- easy to learn, but hard to master. The fast-paced movement feels incredibly tight and the combat has plenty of depth, making you fight for every single point you earn. This game will demand a lot from you, but will reward you handsomely for your efforts.

Well, I'm utterly terrible at this game, but what I've played so far I've enjoyed. Plus, my name is in the credits; what's not to like? :)
