This is a first impression. Fix the jumping/vaulting sometimes getting stuck and make the UI more fluent to navigate and easier to see without all the big text with flashy colours. Come on guys, the first complaint. I may finish this game though, it does play well if you pass the beginning stages. Gameplay is weird, starts you off on an island and begins you with no knowledge of what to do. However, it has an amazing satisfying combat system that shows full on impact when you hit the enemy. This game is full of graphical bugs which hinder the amazing gameplays, for example you can see through walls by just moving against it and sometimes being stuck occurs which is frustrating because this game has ALOT of potential. Crafting doesn't make it into one of the most intuitive checklist but it works, not well enough because mainly of the messy UI, it sometimes makes it hard to see/navigate. I like how you progressively upgrade into better melee weapons and armour which is a nice addition. Food, yes, food, you have to find food every few minutes but they're everywhere from cutting down trees - animals - bushes so that doesn't impact the gameplay in anyway but I don't know why food goes down so fast. Aside from all that, this game feels amazing to play but fixing all that may raise my enjoyment of playing the game. I will finish it either way. Again fix the jumping/vaulting bug where you get stuck, mobility is an essential for playing this game.

Cannot recommend this with the head bobbing and swaying and no way to turn it off. If you get motion sickness from video games easily then avoid this one.
Block Survival: Legend of the Lost Islands, developed and published by Battle Blockyverse Studios, is an indie survival shooter that blends voxel-style visuals with open-world exploration, crafting systems, and classic first-person combat. At its core, the game throws players into a chaotic archipelago after a plane crash, tasking them with surviving against hostile creatures, harsh environments, and mysterious forces that govern the Lost Islands. The premise is simple but effective: gather resources, build weapons, fight enemies, and uncover the secrets behind this strange and fragmented world. The survival loop forms the backbone of the experience. Players begin with minimal supplies and must scavenge materials to craft tools, weapons, and basic necessities. Food, health, and environmental hazards all play a role in shaping the pace of progression. While hunger and survival mechanics exist, they are streamlined rather than deeply punishing, making the game more accessible than some hardcore survival counterparts. The emphasis leans more toward exploration and combat than strict resource micromanagement, which may appeal to players who prefer action-driven survival over heavy simulation. Combat plays a prominent role and carries a distinctly old-school shooter feel. Gunplay focuses on direct engagement—aiming, firing, reloading, and maneuvering through swarms of enemies. The game features a wide variety of hostile creatures, ranging from prehistoric beasts to mechanical foes and other bizarre inhabitants of the islands. This diversity keeps encounters fresh, especially as players unlock and craft more advanced weaponry. The crafting system allows for numerous weapon combinations and upgrades, adding elemental effects or alternate fire modes that provide meaningful customization options. While the shooting mechanics may not match the refinement of large-budget FPS titles, they deliver a satisfying rhythm that complements the survival framework. Exploration is one of the game’s strongest elements. The Lost Islands are divided into numerous distinct environments, each with its own climate, enemy types, and resource availability. From dense jungles and volcanic zones to icy tundras and desert landscapes, the world offers visual variety and environmental challenges. The day-night cycle further enhances tension. Daylight encourages exploration and resource gathering, while nighttime intensifies enemy aggression and danger, creating a cyclical sense of risk and reward. Surviving a particularly hostile night can feel like a genuine accomplishment, reinforcing the core survival theme. Character progression adds another layer of depth. As players explore and defeat enemies, they gain experience and level up, improving attributes such as speed, health, and combat efficiency. While the progression system is straightforward, it provides a sense of steady advancement that complements the crafting and exploration mechanics. The narrative, though not heavily story-driven, gradually reveals pieces of lore about the islands’ strange curse and the forces at play, giving context to the otherwise sandbox-style gameplay. Visually, Block Survival embraces a voxel-based aesthetic reminiscent of block-building games, but with a stronger focus on shooter mechanics. The graphics are simple yet functional, favoring clarity over realism. This style contributes to the game’s indie charm but also highlights its modest production scale. Environments are colorful and distinct, though sometimes lacking in fine detail. Audio design supports the action adequately, reinforcing combat intensity and environmental atmosphere without overshadowing gameplay. Cooperative multiplayer significantly enhances the experience. Playing with friends transforms survival from a solitary struggle into a collaborative adventure. Team-based exploration, shared resource gathering, and coordinated combat add a dynamic layer that mitigates some of the game’s rough edges. Cooperative play can also make tougher encounters more manageable and inject fresh energy into repeated exploration sessions. Despite its strengths, the game does reveal limitations typical of smaller indie projects. Certain systems, such as hunger mechanics or progression clarity, may feel simplified or underdeveloped. Interface elements can occasionally lack polish, and the pacing of leveling may feel uneven. However, these shortcomings rarely undermine the core loop of exploration, crafting, and combat, which remains engaging throughout extended play. Ultimately, Block Survival: Legend of the Lost Islands stands as a hybrid between voxel sandbox aesthetics and classic FPS survival gameplay. It may not offer the depth or refinement of larger open-world survival titles, but it compensates with variety, weapon customization, cooperative play, and a strong sense of adventurous chaos. For players who enjoy accessible survival mechanics paired with retro-inspired shooting action and a touch of imaginative world-building, it delivers an entertaining journey through a mysterious and monster-filled archipelago. Rating: 6/10
Highly addictive game with a bloody rewarding gameplay - totally recommended, especially noting the price!
Very fun FPS with crafting & light rpg mechanics, though your enjoyment may vary depending on which random recipes you'll find first (though I guess you could just look them up online) and which weapon random(!) weapon upgrades you'll get when you purchase upgrades for your weapons. Each weapon can be upgraded 5 times, for a higher price each time, and the upgrades range from next to useless to very much useful. And there's no downgrades. I lucked out with my ak47 upgrades which turned it into an ultimate weapon of destruction, with even the most otherwise-bullet spongy enemies going down in a short spray. I'm usually not big on crafting, so I appreciated the fact that there are no crafting "trees" with intermediate materials that need to be crafted themselves. Every item is craftated directly from the materials dropped by enemies or mined/harvested from trees/ores/etc. Though some of them are pretty rare, so craft wisely. There are no manual saves here, it's checkpoint system all the way. You die - back to the last checkpoint, though you get to keep all your XP, items, upgrades everything else. In fact, this is one way to farm rare resources if you find a source close to a checkpoint. And if you don't want to die - food to restore health is rather plentiful, but you need to wait for your "fullness" metero before eating even an apple to regain food (doesn't take long, but can be an issue during firefights). Doesn't help with some insta-kill traps which are unfortunately plentiful in the late game. I did encounter some bugs. Got stuck a few times, forcing a reload to checkpoint, and the New Game+ wouldn't start.
This game is epiq: Just get it and play. Not a joke: Gameplay is EXELLENT.
Assolutamente consigliato
thumb up
no me acaba de gustar el juego, ya que este juego es muy aburrido y tiene una sola guia que no sirve de mucho, seamos honestos si este juego ya no lo juega ni jesucristo jajajaxd
