There is a lot of love put into it and it has great potential. The game has that retro vibe with the CRT filter, it feels and looks very nostalgic the atmosphere is very good. I ran into a few rough spots. Combat was hard at first. I didn’t realize you could hover over enemies for headshots, which do way more damage. After that things got easier, but it took a few deaths to notice. The stamina system also felt pretty limiting, it drains fast, so running and fighting both end up feeling sluggish, which really drag down the pacing and made me feel slow. Some of the interactive stuff was a bit confusing. Like, there was a door marked "Closed Today," and I had to click it twice before the attached note popped up which was a trigger to continue the quest. It wasn’t clear right away what I was supposed to do so i only clicked once and spent the next 5 minutes going around the building. The lighting looks great and adds to the mood, but sometimes the darkness made it hard to see where I was going. It was easy to miss paths, on top of that the top-down view sometimes made it very hard to notice doors due to the angle. Even with those issues, the world the game builds is really compelling and looks quite big. There is a lot of love put into it and it has great potential
Runs perfect on steam deck. Amazing game. Love everything about it. This is the kind of horror game i fantasized about since ps1 resident evil/parasite eve days. Buy the game. Support the dev. This guy needs more money to make more. I missed the bug input during game. I thought i was givin the bar key. Maybe not but i dont have it and my special items is filled with spark plugs. I didnt know i kept picking them up
game has potential but needs work on map so it makes it clear where you're at, also gamepad ui doesn't show up at all, no recommendation until somethings are fixed sorry mate :( also you can’t even use the R stick to aim for some reason just for further notice
Played this originally on mobile and it was pretty good even though I don't really like mobile games. Got pretty excited when I heard it was coming to PC and yeah, instantly hooke!
You can really tell how much thought went into this game. There are tons of hidden details and small environmental easter eggs tucked into every part of the world. It rewards exploration in a way that feels handcrafted. The game has a eerie vibe, and the action-RPG mechanics have surprising depth. The headshot system is pretty cool. Once you figure it out, it really changes how you approach combat. It encourages sneaking, distancing, and thinking before engaging. Every area feels distinct, like it was built with intention. No two places feel the same. If you want to play an atmospheric survival games injected with retro survival horror, Blight Night is absolutely worth checking out.
Not exactly a game for me, but I can see the quality and potential. Very reminiscent of early Resident Evil. I think it's vastly overpriced though, I'd say wishlist and wait for ~50% off sale or so. If you enjoy a slower, thoughtful, retro horror then you should find a lot of fun here. Gameplay and my first impressions: https://youtu.be/20MtYfMSdDU
Is Blight Night a survival horror? An ARPG? Yes. Well, It's kind of both of them, and to its credit it combines them very well. There's a great understanding here of someone taking the blueprint and really making their own vision from it, and it shows. If you're hungry for anything that's actually got a new flavor and does it well in the survival horror niche, then definitely give Blight Night a try- I think you might be surprised at how much you'll like it.
Blight Night is a top-down survival horror game set in an eerie 1986 desert town overrun by mutants. You play as a lone survivor scavenging items, solving puzzles, and battling zombie-like creatures—with a sweaty VHS-era filter and haunting 80s synths. It feels like flipping through a horror VHS tape that comes to life. Pros ✔️ Rock-solid zombie atmosphere – It nails that classic 80s horror feel: VHS fuzz, echoing footsteps, flickering lights—it’s all there and it works. ✔️ Natural quest system – Objectives like finding keys or finding hidden keys to unlock a bonus treasure chest feel naturally written into the story. ✔️ Modern-meets-retro blend – It’s got a nice retro feel but definetly plays nice and modern style. Cons ❌ Controller and movement need work – The controls feel stiff, especially on a pad. Turning and aiming didn’t always feel tight. ❌ Paths feel a bit linear – At times it felt like walking a railroad track—go here, kill zombies in the way, rinse, repeat. I wished for more open-ended exploration. ❌ Stamina system falls flat – Instead of adding tension, the stamina meter just made me feel tired for boring reasons, not strategic ones. Conclusion This one drew me in at first—seriously, that 80s vibe had me on edge. But as I played more, the cracks started to show. It’s solid enough for a quick scare session, but I didn’t find myself itching to go back and explore deeper. I’m glad I gave it a go, but once the lights came back on, that eerie feeling didn’t stick the landing. Score: 7/10 Tapes A throwback trip into VHS horror—stylish, tense, but a little tight on fresh scares.
game is awesome so far! has a lot of project zomboid / early resident evil / walking dead influences.the game-play has a decent amount of depth and there are a lot of really fun weapons and small hidden areas to explore and find things hidden in! i cant wait to see what happens with future updates and content in the game. definitely worth picking the game up if you're iffy about it
目前来说并不推荐,中文翻译不全,试玩版已经是这样了,正式版还是这个样子,而且有的中文还带着方框,我是过来玩游戏的,不是过来做完形填空的,还是等它修复完这些东西再去买吧。
