BlackhoopS is a unique kind of visual novel. Every time you start a new game, you will discover different changes about the story. The final chapter, Initiation. It will be a great adventure. All story centre on the Mons's memory, in a number of different timelines.

the game is bugged currently even in this final version. CGs can't be seen. No Adult settings, no gallery. Edit solution: My window version is 11, it could be different for other version of window but relatively it would be the same. Here is basically the step you need to do: Window button is the button between your Left Ctrl button and Left Alt button, it will have a window logo on it. Press Windown button + R and type in regedit Press Ctrl + F and type in isadult Double click on it and change the value in the box from 0 to 1. Start your game, it should be unlocked now. Enjoy.
💬 Supportive Caveat I am giving this a conditional recommendation because I want to support what this game is trying to do, even though I did not end up enjoying my time with it overall. BlackHoopS is far more ambitious than most M/M visual novels. It has exploration, stat progression, branching structure, political intrigue, and a male-only bara world that clearly aims for something larger and more experimental than a simple romance VN. I genuinely want more games in this space to try ideas like this. That said, people should go in with very cautious expectations. The game released on January 29, 2023 after spending 5 or more years on Early Release status. Its last listed Steam update was February 8, 2023, so this appears to be the final state of the game. It is also important to know that the adult content appears to be disabled by default, and unlocking it requires editing a registry value outside the game. That hidden setting affects not just explicit scenes, but actual interaction options and gameplay systems. If you play without enabling it, you are not getting the intended version of the experience. Guide to unlock adult content: https://steamcommunity.com/app/937770/discussions/0/4032476115588977631/ Even with that enabled, I found the game slow, confusing, and increasingly hard to enjoy. I stopped a little over four hours in because it had started to feel like a slog. So this recommendation is really for players who are specifically interested in ambitious, messy, bara-focused experimental VNs and are willing to tolerate rough translation, unclear storytelling, and awkward progression in order to see what it is attempting. 🎮 Gameplay & Genre BlackHoopS is an experimental, system-heavy visual novel that blends branching narrative, stat progression, and light exploration. You move across a map, visit locations, and level attributes like wisdom and perception while navigating a story that jumps across timelines and factions. In theory, this is exactly the kind of ambition I want to see more often in M/M games. It is trying to be more than a simple romance or sex-focused VN. In practice, though, the game struggles badly at communicating its systems and structure. Progression often feels opaque, and replaying to explore routes is made more frustrating by weak skip functionality and limited save usability. There are also gameplay mechanics tied to adult interactions, including a sex minigame that becomes available once adult mode is enabled. However, it does not appear to be meaningfully tied to romance or character progression. Instead, it feels like a standalone system layered on top of the game. Unfortunately, these segments are more tedious than enticing. What should feel like a reward or point of intimacy ends up feeling drawn out and annoying. 🔥 M/M Content This is clearly a bara-focused M/M game set in a male-only world populated by large, muscular men. There is full nudity, explicit CGs, and interactive adult systems once adult mode is enabled. But this is not a romance-forward M/M game, at least not in the hours I played. Even after more than four hours, I still could not clearly identify the main love interest(s) or see where the romantic route building was supposed to be happening. I suspect Tholond is meant to be central, but the game never gave me enough clear dialogue direction or emotional development to make that feel grounded. That creates a strange disconnect. There is explicit sexual content, including a punishment CG involving public masturbation, but scenes like that often feel detached from any clear romantic progression or emotional meaning. They can be visually hot, sure, but they are not well integrated into a satisfying relationship arc. So while the game absolutely contains M/M content, it feels much more mechanical and fragmented than emotionally or romantically driven. 🎨 Visuals & Style The art is one of the clearest strengths here. The bara character designs are bold, ruggedly attractive, and often genuinely appealing. Tholond in particular does a lot of heavy lifting in keeping the game visually engaging. The UI is also quite good. Navigating the map and moving through the game’s systems generally works well on a technical level. That actually makes the whole experience more frustrating, because the game feels well designed in many structural ways. You can see the effort and ambition. It is the writing clarity and content delivery that keep letting it down. 🗣️ Tone & Writing This is where the game really lost me. The game is trying to tell a dense story involving political intrigue, rival factions, royal succession, religion, hidden motives, and multiple interconnected timelines. Part of the game takes place in a past setting centered on Tholond and the city of Ironstone, while another timeline in the future involves the protagonist being contacted by a mysterious figure who wants help bringing down a religion that seems to have roots in that earlier era. I can absolutely appreciate that kind of scope. BlackHoopS appears to have been written originally in Mandarin, which is worth noting because it helps explain why I looked at translated Mandarin-language reviews alongside the English ones. The problem is that the translation makes too much of it difficult to follow, and even from translated Mandarin reviews, it sounds like the confusion is not limited to English-language players. So instead of feeling like a rich mystery unfolding, the narrative often feels disorienting. Events happen, factions appear, explicit scenes pop up, and yet the story never settles into a shape that feels easy to grasp. There is potential everywhere, but potential is not the same thing as a satisfying experience. I wanted to enjoy this a lot more than I did. By a little over four hours in, I was no longer curious enough to push through the confusion. 👍 Best Thing The sheer ambition. A sprawling bara VN with exploration, stats, political intrigue, and a male-only world is exactly the kind of risk I want this genre to take more often. 👎 Worst Thing Poor narrative clarity. Between the rough translation, hidden adult mode, slow pacing, and lack of clear romantic direction, the game becomes a slog long before it becomes rewarding. ⭐ Final Verdict Recommended, with a major caveat I am recommending BlackHoopS because I want to support its ambition, its bara focus, and its attempt to push M/M games into more experimental territory. There are real foundations here for an excellent game: a male-only fantasy world, strong bara character design, interactive exploration, stat systems, and a scope far beyond the average adult VN. But this is a very conditional recommendation. After just over four hours, I was no longer enjoying myself. The translation, storytelling, and progression all made the experience feel far more frustrating than compelling. What makes that more disappointing is that this game seems unlikely to change. That leaves BlackHoopS feeling less like a hidden gem waiting to be polished and more like a fascinating, half-realized game with strong foundations but no clear path forward that will probably remain exactly as it is. If you are specifically interested in ambitious, messy, adult bara games with unusual systems and a male-only fantasy world, this may still be worth a look. If you want a clear, emotionally grounded M/M VN with strong romantic direction, this is probably going to test your patience.
