Black Ink

What a scam I pay for the software long ago an do not get the upgrade for free. More an more is steam becoming a place for scammers what a shame.

Ima be fully honest with yall, this is probably the best drawing app, It's wild, it's amazing and just wow yk? And it isn't the whole fact that this thing isn't the price of a liver (like Photoshop) is already /so/ much better (and it's also life time, no subscriptions). 100% worth it.

Completely stopped working. Even when it worked it would crash often. Can't get a refund since it's over two hours. Moved to Krita and its a much better program, especially because it doesn't crash.

Cool painting software with nodes and GPU acceleration. It would be nice to have integration with Stable Diffusion.

LOVE this program, way more fun than PhoShop and a LOT cheaper! Yes, it can feel REALLY daunting when you start using it, but the community is lovely and helpful, the devs can be emailed directly AND there's some really great tutorials. Give it a try and be amazed (especially by the Ruin brush, it's my favourite).

Decided to try again and updates are behind DLC, so uninstalled and back to Clip Studio

This app is wicked fast, you can edit, you can change colors, you can use nodes for your layers. It's kind of like an a cracked out compositor for your images. One of the downsides is that it requires a beefy graphics card to really use it to it's fullest. My problem is, there are tutorials on using certain tools, but nothing deep enough to really learn what the app can even do in it's full potential. The main draw for me was the brush engine. You can code your own brushes, it feels limitless. One problem: You have to CODE it. This is sort of a barrier if you come from Clip Studio, or Photoshop. This app doesn't feel like it was intended for artist's primarily, and I think this is where the application sort of fails. If you're looking for something to actually make some production tier art, this isn't it. If you love tinkering and experimenting with new software that does things differently, this is great. It's unfortunate that this app doesn't get noticed. But that's what happens when there's no real in depth tutorials, or even process videos using Black Ink. Black Ink has been around for over a decade, yet has no real holding in the art world, even though it has REAL POTENTIAL. The problem is that features are too advanced, no one will bother touching or learning it after a day or two of experimenting with it. And I think that's a real shame. All this software needs is some actual in-depth videos about using it. Even today, I can't find any videos, articles, general tutorials.

Незвичайна але досить інтуітивна прога. Нічого подібного для 2д не бачила, сподіваюся, буде ставати лише краще. В ній є нодова система, можна бачити (можливо й модифікувати) код брашки. Є моментальний колор пікінг прямо під час малювання з точки з якої починається штрих, лейзі маус як в збраш, купа цікавих налаштувань. Найголовніше, є демо... обов'язково гляньте :)

Superb paint tool for technical-minded artists, excellent price for a uniquely powerful and fast paint tool. The UI is inspired, looks amazing on a UHD display.

My first and only drawing program fyi. It has many basic pen stencils that you can use which you can also adjust shape, angle, hardness and such. I really enjoy using this program. I only miss the auto shape creation like circle, triangle but I still might to learn it. I havent used any tutorial except the repeat layer overall. But i saw there are many more tutorials. Anyway BlackInk gives plenty of freedom of making something from ground up. And no monthly fee.
