I feel like this game is really designed for co-op and is more of a console game. I'm a PC player playing solo and if that describes you as well, then I wouldn't bother with this one.

Not Recommended: if you enjoy solo.
Recommend: only if you have friends.
Designed for co-op. It's very hard to solo and you will leak. Online quick join is not available. To co-op with friends, you create a room and share the code.
If you saw "Couch-Coop Tower Defence" and wanted to jump right in, I don't blame you. I did too. This tower defence game has a good style, decent music and a cool concept.... that utterly fails in its delivery. ((TL;DR: There is a reason that 74% of players have played enough to pick their first gadget, but only 43% have finished the second area. This game drops it's players off a cliff with bad design choices.)) The levels have various gimmicks that add to the difficulty and instead of being fun and rewarding, just suck in different ways. A desert storm that changes the route the mobs take and leaves you dehydrated? (Go to the vending machine for water.) Sure, but why does the storm randomly destroy some of my towers (which may have been at max upgrade level?) It's not enjoyable, and the game substitutes these gimmicks in place of the depth and complexity you tend to see as you progress through a tower defence game. The game, I am convinced, is balanced around 4 players playing at once. The difficulty when playing solo or with one other person is just a continual punch in the face as you try and try again. You don't even get a chance to check out the new level before the wave starts, I have to look around, figure out all the spots I want to try and build, then restart the level. You are pulled between putting your time towards standing in one place and upgrading your turrets, collecting gears for your income, building turrets, interacting with gimmicky level environment, and juggling bots with your hammer so that they don't get through your defences. This is the core of the game and the tension between these elements is seldom rewarding. The gadgets you take with you and the character abilities are not thoughtfully balanced either. You'd have some flexibility if the game's difficulty was less punishing, but there are really only a few valid choices. You'll want the character that lets you upgrade your turrets faster and the one that recharges your gadgets faster. You'll want the stun gadget and possibly the money pickup gadget (so you can spend more time standing by your turret to upgrade it) until you get the gadget that makes upgrade packs for your turrets. This is a failure of a Coop game and a Tower Defence game for not scaling with the number of people playing, for having abilities poorly balanced, and for going for gimmicks over thoughtful complexity. I really really wanted to like this game, but instead I have to recommend you stay away from it.
I really want this to be good, its cute, it has a ton of charm and I hope the devs continue to work on it. poorly balanced. x10 the value of swinging the hammer. even if you multiply the enemies by 10 to accomplish this, it would still be more fun. as it stands, they encourage you to stand still for the whole mission to upgrade structures. Even playing red, the character whose ultimate is to upgrade things faster, still cannot upgrade a single stucture 1 time for the ultimate. On the bright side, the game could be fixed with 0 programming adjustments, just value changes.
Fun as F*&%, 9/10
Played with my girlfriend, took us 8~ hours to finish (4 sessions) The game's got style and lots of fun and quick mechanics to it, definitely feels close to what we love in a classic Tower Defence game but with the "on foot" experience on walking around the track of the enemies There is struggle with understanding where you are amidst chaos, especially in later levels. Also, we replayed the first level twice not realizing you had to manually move to the next level in the select level screen, but that's definitely on us being used to different games. It's annoying that in order to study the path of the enemies you have to just throw one game and then play for real, makes it not as interesting the second time around. We love the fact each chapter had it's own unique mechanics which made it even more challenging and interesting to play, but at times those extra challenges were a bit much for just us too - as the game is likely made for the 3+ experience. But us tryhards made due just fine. Despite all those rather small issues we had - All in all we had a blast, final boss fight was very fun, definitely a fun passtime that I wish had longer challenges, the ability to go endlessly and more - will definitely hop back on if anything new is added.
