I was on the fence with this one, as there is a core of a cool game here, but in the end I have to give it a thumbs-down. There are some interesting moments with the bird flight. Diving creates a real feeling of momentum, and the forest road level gives you some great opportunities for skimming along the road surface and blasting through the tunnels. But the controls are atrocious, and in a game where control is everything, that's just not acceptable. Adjusting your vertical control involves having your bird lurch and correct over and over again. I also couldn't get my controller (XB1...works with literally every other controller-supported game that I have, and that's somewhere in the thousands) to work at all. There was no response from either stick. Coins were sometimes placed in interesting locations, sometimes in the open...and sometimes in an impossible-to-fly-to location. This became really frustrating, essentially meaning that to get the coin, I had to wreck the bird into something close by, and then do a little hop upon respawn to grab the coin. The coin in the outhouse was the most egregious example of this. Additionally, searching for the coins was usually much more of a chore than a joy. It gets old pretty quickly just circling around the same map that you've been through hundreds of times to find a coin floating someplace tricky or directly behind a tree. Having some kind of coin radar to point you in the general direction of the coin would have made this much more tolerable. If some people think that makes things too easy, the dev can always add an option in settings to turn it off. I clipped through the world upon collisions frequently. Like really, really frequently. Almost every wreck on the forest road map caused me to fall through the world and then get respawned at the original starting point. Also, it's great that you can skin your bird, but there weren't a lot of options or many interesting things going on there. It's an example of what could have been a cool element of the game with more diverse ways to color (or dress up) your bird, as well as potentially tying various combinations of these things to abilities or performance. In the end, this game just lacks too much polish for me to recommend it. I did have some fun playing it, but I had equal parts frustration, and as such I still have to give it a thumbs-down. If the dev goes back and works on some of these issues, I'll be happy to revisit it and reconsider my review based upon the updated game.
Warning: Asset Flip!Bird Missions is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
This asset flip looks to be a blend of the Sky Flight - Full Game Template asset and a couple of low poly assets (low poly town and some others), assembled lazily and quickly dumped on Steam so the developer can scam people out of money for someone else's game assets. Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. Studio Inward have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Angry Zombies" = Angry Zombies Complete Unity Project developed by AWD Games
"BomberX " = Bomber IO developed by SURIYUN
"DriftZ" = Zombie Drift developed by BoneCracker Games
"Golf98" = Endless Golf developed by SgLib Games
"Hentai Darts" = Dart Wheel Game Template developed by Puppeteer
"Police Chase" = Endless Car Chase Game Template developed by Puppeteer
"Shooting Star" = Dash Runner - Full Game Template developed by Yanka
"Space Road" = Speeder Run Game developed by Puppeteer
"Viking Fight" = The Battle Multiplayer Game Template developed by SoloQ
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 8 players, and the worst part is these weren't genuine players, these were the Russian fake review accounts that the developer paid to make the fake reviews. Since the fake reviews are all done, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
Warning: Review Manipulation!
This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. Bird Missions is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 9,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
This game made me hate birds in only 23 minutes after loving birds my whole life. No guns. No bombs. No terrorists. No hostages. And too many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trees. What am I supposed to do with this??
Fun little game. Gameplay is pretty much limited to collecting coins, though at this price I can't really complain. Starting off, I crashed a lot until I figured out the mechanics. Felt like a fledgling finally leaving the nest! My poor bird avatar. I'm surprised its neck is intact! I hit the ground so hard I glitched through the world. I haven't played for very long yet, but I am enjoying the game so far. With some basic improvements this game could have a lot of potential. Please note that this game is FAR easier with a controller, though you have to specifically enable it. Also there is no ability to invert X/Y axes. Also there's no way to start actually playing without using a keyboard or mouse. Pros: • Flight is smooth and well polished. There is a learning curve though, and it does take some time getting used to it. • You can go VERY fast. I love the dedicated dive button (labeled as "fall"). • Art style is cute and simple, and doesn't get in the way of gameplay. It looks nice and it's easy to tell objects apart. I've had no trouble spotting coins from afar! Cons: • Limited gameplay and controls. • Performance is rather poor for the given graphical level, even if you are running a decent video card (GTX 1650 Super). • The game has no exit button (Just hit Alt+F4 I guess...). • Music can get a little repetitive. Not a big deal though. • Sometimes the camera glitches out. It's usually brief, though. Suggestions to the devs for improvement: • Add a "brake" button to slow down. Or perhaps some more detailed instructions on flight, as the hovering function seems to work as this. • Landing could also be used as a gameplay element. • You can't walk when on the ground, so it's possible to get stuck under objects like trees with low branches, or fences. There is a weird scooting-flapping thing that happens in these cases but it doesn't always work. • Ability to remap controls. • An exit button. • Transparent clouds? • Would be nice if the environment was a bit more dynamic. The cars in the city map, for example, don't really move. • Birdie wants to do a barrel roll and loop the loop! • Different birds with different flight characteristics? • Racing or time trials would be fun! • A Field of View (FOV) adjustment option somewhere in the menu would be nice. • An option to change the flapping mechanism to one flap per button press would be great, and allow for more fine-tuning during flight. • Add ability to invert X/Y for both movement and camera controls on controller.
Great game, does need some work on the sound part though
Richtig geiles Spiel. Die Musik ist auch voll nice. Danke Joshi
It is a great game. Reminds me of superflight. Another penny flying game. I am really bad at it but I appreciate the learning curve .
Bird missions is not a video game, it is an art piece. True passion and talent went into the creation of this masterpiece. The peace and serenity you feel when you fly though the stages is unmatched by any other experience known to man. I believe that this is a creation of god himself, under appreciated by too many, but overlooked by even more. For the cost of a coke you can find true meaning in life and start you new path. Just incredible. 11/10
I never thought I would jizz my pants playing anything, then I came across this game. PG 69+ no cap. 5/10 ♥♥♥♥
