Biotix: Phage Genesis

this game is epic !! i love this game since the very first browser version ^^

I would only really recommend the single player mode for anyone just wanting a fun game that is actually quite unique. The game is all about control of the board. Its like risk but at virus level but much quicker paced. you level up your genome as you gain the necessary points to spend which then makes you so much stronger and quicker. I've played it a few days now and i do like the single player. BUT THAT IS IT! Multiplayer: whilst the game does have a multiplayer option, sadly despite playing many games in MP, i've found there is a lot, and I mean A LOT of cheaters who are clearly using hacks. Insane reproduction rates, insane speed, maxed attack/defence.. yep they maxxed it all simply because someone beat them once or twice and well, they never win at anything.. not even life.. so they download hacks and use those. Every other game and sometimes every game is against someone called guest... (... = insert number here) and you can tell from the speed the reproduction and conquering they are doing that they far exceed yours. So yeah good for single player, but avoid the multiplayer because its full life clueless lifeless skillless morons who's only way to play is with hacks.

Biotix: Phage Genesis is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam. The game is infested with P2W MTX on mobile platforms but I couldn't see where to buy in-game currency on this PC ported version. Regardless, that's what we're dealing with here, mobile app trash. This is a basic ripoff of another game called Galcon, where you have nodes on a map that generate numbers, and you send those numbers to other nodes to take them over. The more nodes, the more numbers you generate... basic stuff, once you've played Galcon, you've played all the ripoffs too, there's little differentiation (although some attempt was made here, as you can upgrade your stats, faster, tougher numbers, growth rate increases, blah blah). So there's a bit of lipstick on the pig here. This is just a basic mobile app, there's no resolution controls or graphics tweaks so the game probably won't look great as you can't force native resolution on your display. The lazy mobile devs didn't even bother changing the mobile phone prompts so you get told to "Tap" your screen.... right. The shallow gameplay and poor quality of this mobile app makes it unrecommenable for PC gamers. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig so I could pretend it was an iPhone.

I love the Phage series so this was very disappointing. Singleplayer mode ramps up the difficulty through the 'progression' system much more quickly than you grow from rewards - so you're stuck grinding earlier levels until you can fight the AI on a level playing field. All the usual quirks of Phage (AI tunnelvisioning on you, having your starting cell attacked immediately) pale in comparison to being outnumbered and outgunned by a CPU with less than half of your cells. If you want to play Phage, go do it online rather than downloading this.
