It's a shame a nice story is delivered through walls of text rather than actual gameplay. It all begins with a scientist being taken to a zone where nuclear weapons tests had been conducted. Although the radiation left by comprehensive tests is dangerous but not unusual, the reason for your arrival is due to unexpected events that demand further investigation. The scientist takes on his protective gear and enters the zone with only a compass and a gun. On his way back to the base after inspecting several structures, the scientists passes out. The game then jumps ahead several years to a man who is intrigued by a mysterious house where several individuals have gone missing. The cops are worthless, so he decides to investigate on his own. Gameplay follows classic indie horror template. You need to walk around, experience events and sightings, and interact with things to move the story forward or open a new door. Sometimes you'll need to locate and use an item. This occurs automatically when you interact with the appropriate spot. The game is not limited to a single location, as each level brings you to a different location. Despite the empty and "boring" graphics, they make sense and help to create a somewhat uneasy mood. Furthermore, each location has enough unique assets to make it unique. The story is told via the perspectives of several characters, with notes dispersed throughout the stages and text at the beginning of each level. The latter is not handled well because you have no control over it and cannot skip it. It's usually a long wall of text that tells everything about the story. If you are a quick reader, you will have to wait for the text to fade on its own after a while. The longer the message, the longer you'll have to wait. Notes and letters aren't much better because you have to switch off your flashlight to read them. The text contains some grammar mistakes, but it is easy to follow. The pacing is off. You're continuously jumping from one person or stage to the next, and some stages take only a minute or two. Sometimes you spend more time on walls of text than in the actual stage. Unfortunately, there aren't many exciting things to see in or do in stages because the most important events are revealed in walls of text. Locations are small and provide only notes and events. Sometimes you have a gun, but using it isn't exciting because it doesn't even make a sound when fired. The last stage feels the best one because it includes a few monsters you can kill and logical puzzles. Except for a couple of locked doors that require a code, the rest of the game has no puzzles.

If you would like to see my Gameplay and Review you can watch it right here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHL8L_7R3Z0 Alright, its a tough one today I am afraid. First of all, the 1st house, with the two ghosts, awesome, easily the best segment in the game, the sound design, with all the noises, the darkness, the two "ghosts" moving around, its a great start to the game and decently spook filled segment.... sadly, the rest of the game does not take advantage of this opening, my personal biggest issue with the game is PACING! Its unbearably slow, there is no run button, and you walk slower then an 80 year old grandmother in need of a hip replacement, but not only are you slow, the text! omg the text, paragraphs, and PARAGRAPHS of text, most of it filler context and not really needed, on top of their being way too much text, you can't skip any of the "cutscenes" (just an entire screen filled with text to read) so you are forced to just sit and wait for it to disappear (Both of these are tactics to make a 30 min game stretch out for over 2 hours) The story itself is jumbled, jumping between 2 periods of times, but honestly there is more book reading then gameplay involved I got bored and just looked at my phone while waiting for text to clear. Chapter 2 has this completely unneeded train sequence, where you just.... sit on a train, and nothing happens, there is some text that pops up suggesting the character is paranoid... but instead of just the player reading that, you could have actually made us feel paranoid? You know? Again calling back to the first chapter with the house, I was defiantly on edge, so I don't know what happened going forward. I don't know, games like these are hard, there is an obvious vision, that the devs had and a story they were trying to tell, but the execution struggles and falls flat. I would highly suggest, at the very least, add some voice acting. That would easily liven up all the sections where its just text. But also just trim the overall amount. (you can keep the in game notes, those are fine) and then, also just upping the walking speed by 5% would feel great as the player. The puzzles at the end of the game, were to little to late, up to that point the entire game had basically been a walking simulator. They were defiantly a breath of fresh air! don't get me wrong, I wish there were more, sprinkled throughout. I have no doubt you worked hard on this, but I just can't give a thumbs up, I am sorry
