Do you have what it takes to beat the boogeyman? You will ♥♥♥♥ up, but that's okay. Just keep going and face those fears!
A fun yet challenging roguelike with a wide variety of levels, enemies, and weapons all influence by things you would have seen or come across during childhood all turned around into your worst childhood nightmare! Fight through hordes of horrors to recapture a stolen relic and save the land of dreams from being invaded by The Boogyman. Full thoughts here: https://youtu.be/ejqueAaHlko?si=9t7XnwmoYe-2F06q
Very neat twin stick shooter, with great room destruction and blood splatter effects. If you want the feeling of traumatising a small child, without the legal trouble, try it!
The game is really something special. The folks over at Santa Games have done a tremendous job. I didn't expect much when I bought the game, given that the company is new to the market, but I couldn't be more wrong. The game is well-made with great attention to detail, from design to features and the background music. I was concerned that the game wouldn't last more than like 30 minutes. However, I was proven wrong, as the plot itself is challengin and takes time to compete. On to of that, the game is full of easter eggs to explore and a bunch of diffrent costumes to unlock. To summarise, I'm happy with the experience so far (with more to discover). Looking foward to seeing what Santa Games can bring us in the future. Keep it going. Cheers!
Dope af! Been here since early demo, keeps entertaining me :)
Billy's Nightmare is quite the opposite of what it's name implies, as I consider it to be an enjoyable game. It's relatively cheap for the content in it, and a variety of playstyles is always a plus. My main issue resides in the fact that some costumes are practically palette swaps without any changes. The Dinosaur and Magician are the exact same, along with many other costumes having the same basic shot. I haven't unlocked them all, but I believe future costumes may have a similar problem. Secondly, there is a lack of item variation. There are the summons, all of which are pretty similar (Tank, Helicopter, etc), the breath attacks, all of which are pretty similar (Chili Pepper, Frost Breath, etc), and there are your basic projectiles that aren't all that interesting. The game is fun up until you beat it, and I don't think it is necessarily an issue. It could benefit from a few free content updates adding new original movesets or items, with a bit of enemy variation sprinkled in as they feel repetitive after a while (if they made it paid DLC for 3-5$ that could also be acceptable depending on how good it is). Overall it's a fun game, but not worth picking up if you don't already own some classic Action Rougelike shooters (Enter the Gungeon, Nuclear Throne, etc).
although there are quite a sizable number of bugs if your playing in co op the game is still fun when it works!
mogs enter teh gungeon
