tl;dr overview
Big Beautiful Women is a game with a concept that I want to see more of. However I just don't think it fully sticks the landing in a way that I believe makes for good size. Where the in the moment writing is great and creates characters worth caring about, a lot of other broad-strokes areas of the game are majorly lacking in a "death by 1000 cuts" way. This game feels like a game designed for onboarding people who aren't already into size, than it is for appealing to those who already are. Below are more in depth thoughts.

The Positives
I think the music is great to listen to. The sprites for the main characters is great and I love how they get very silly and have a lot of "off model" expressions. The artwork for the CGs are also *generally* nice to look at. However profile views seem to be a bit of a weak point of the artwork for this game. I get it, it's hard! The writing *in the moment* generally makes me smile. The game knows what it's trying to be, so it plays for that with the writing.
The Negatives
This section is actually so big I need to break this up into sub sections so there's a semblance of breaks, flow, and organization.
Gameplay
The main loop of the game is obfuscated to the player. It doesn't really explain why sometimes you just do something 5 times in a row and other times you just get one or two good days to learn. The phone icon lighting up when you can't talk to anyone is weird. Stat requirements are hidden, and locking character progression behind other social events with the separate women is weird.
User Experience and Art
The game does a terrible job selling the scale of these women to the player. Despite being different heights and builds, all of them take up the same vertical screen real estate on the screen. No differing length proportions, and no changes to how you perceive them. So they can just "show up" in your normal sized room, despite them being giant. Also the re-use of the same purple haired girl with no real changes to her skin tone, hair, outfit color, or more to make each one feel at least marginally more unique.
World Building and Backgrounds
The game's backgrounds do a terrible job of selling the scale of the world to the player. Despite being a multi-scale city (built brand new as of only 5 years ago in lore, if I'm not mistaken) none of it reads as such. Practically every environment is designed around a mono-height size but none of it looks like it was made for giants. Maya's house in particular suffers from many of these choices because despite being at least 5+ stories tall, her house still has normal sized looking objects. A normal sized looking clock, couch, lamp, side-table, coffee table, blinds and more. This plagues every other environment in the game, as well and is not a one-off problem.
Writing and Characters
The writing of the game and the art of the characters are conflicting rather frequently. Despite being married and constantly bringing note to it, Maya does not wear a wedding ring in a single one of her art pieces, sprites, or CGs. Even though the writing of the game constantly says she's wearing it. This has been true for the outfits of the game as well. Hifumi, despite being in a suit for the Christmas Party, isn't made clear until the CG randomly shows it. Which speaking of Hifumi, the game in writing tells you that she "does not wear panties, she wears spats" despite the fact that the very first unskippable CG of the game has you getting an upskirt shot of her panties. They also talk about her unbuttoning her cheerleader outfit despite the fact that there is not a single button on that entire design. These problems are littered all throughout the game.

Closing Thoughts
If you actually read this, first of all, thank you for taking the time. I could go further into my complaints about the title, going deeper onto individual scenes, backgrounds, use of (or improper use of) CGs and more. I know I've seen a good number of people talk about size and character interaction inconsistencies which I agree with and hope that maybe they could be compelled to go back and fix. My hope is that the developers of this game may succeed so that they might be able to try again or have another shot at making size based software. Because making anything is a lot of hard work, and honestly it's commendable that they even got anything past the finish line! However, as someone who is looking for something meaningful in the size scene, I feel like this game is just sorely lacking in the things that I think make size something incredible. Here's hoping they do a much better job the second time around.
If you like giantesses, it's an absolute must. It's perfect, made for us and the game will hit every spot. If you're curious, it's not too kinky, just fun and cute. Story has plenty of lore and world building to make it immersive. The girls are all lovely and fun and quirky. Don't hesitate, it's worth it.
proof that god is real
John Carmack once said "Story in a game is like story in a porn movie. It's expected to be there, but it's not that important." I believe John Carmack is an idiot. Game is cute, it's a little weak in some areas but it's cool that there are more actual kink games these days instead of just vanilla sex unreal engine porn garbage.
Red Lobster approves But now I'm sad there's no more
Early impressions: more games need autistic fat giantess gfs.
The writing is fine, but the asset reuse is pretty bad, anyone who isn't the main 6 is a single placeholder image.
I won't say anything cheesy like 'it changed my life' or anything... ...But it certainly made me realize things about myself lmao. In all seriousness, a very charming lil visual novel that offers a nice look into the size community and has a little something for anyone who likes 'larger' girls, hell, i think even if you're not into Giantess stuff, this could be a good gateway for ya, it's not too infested with the mannerisms that could alienate an outside the community player, and has lots of funny references to gaming and pop culture to make you laugh. the main cons i can think of come from slightly inconsistent storytelling and inconsistent scaling amongst the giantesses, but if you're okay with that and able to look past it, you'll find a lovely little dating VN with a nice story and gentle, giant ladies, overall a fun time and lots of good CG's, props to the pixel artist, it's seriously impressive whenever we see one. Save frequently, and use the scroll wheel to roll back dialogue if you do something stupid, but otherwise, just have fun and get to know the ladies better lol. Also Jun is best girl hands down~
Mind the typos This game is wonderful, I have played other visual novels (Japanese ones) and I have never felt ANYTHING for fictional characters that I have "talked" with, up until now. Especially for Yuyu's and her route, it was so earnest and heartwarming. I tried to stop playing but I couldn't and wanted to see what would happen next, and ended up staying till 1AM. Don't expect going into this game as just "OH YEAH! GIANTESS GOON GAME!" its more than that...kinda. It has its freaky moments that reward the player for progressing and getting the right stats and dialogue options with nicely drawn CGs and "freaky" text. This will be my first like actual review with actual thoughts, instead of, (gayme guud). Side note when I streamed the demo with my friends in discord, they gained interest in purchasing this game even thought they were unfamliar with the genre. I'm glad this game eased them into the genre and I hope they enjoy it as well as I did. Writing- To me personally its perfect, it kept me engaged and I never felt like skipping dialogue except when I had to reload saves. Though the major factor I believe is the fact that this was made for native English speakers (from the U.S.). Reading through Nekopara, NinNindays, Raising a Wolf Girl, GO GO NIPPON! and so on, didn't really engage me with its writing or grab my attentions aside from the lewd scenes that are in some of them (obviously). I'm not saying I hated the writing in those games, its just that I didn't feel it grabbed my attention as well as this game. Translated works (that I have read) don't have the kind of feel that this game had, and because a work is "translated" the dialogue is a bit "stiff" I would say, looking back (to me personally, not saying anyone else thinks this way). As I mentioned earlier the target audience is native English speakers, and there's many jokes that would only make sense if you were one. Theres a lot of 21st century humor and pokes fun at the oddities of the real world. Though bias as it sounds, I think that is what makes it its strong point. While this game is all about giant ladies, it doesn't make itself all about how hot would be to be with one, ogle them, and whatnot, it goes into depth into the daily problems and norms the giants face in the world. But yes, there are "God I wish that were me moments" in this VN. The stories of each character flows naturally. Speaking of which. Characters- Its what your freaky heart desires and then some. The designs are cute and so are their quirks (some are scary, if you know, you know) but I loved seeing how each of the ladies interacted with "Naoya" and each other. Just a group of college friends and a MILF just getting together, talking about whatever in a natural environment. I anticipated to see where their backstories would lead and how the story unfolds, and actually felt a bit said and nervous once they opened up their shell. Each lady is more than just their stereotype, they are your friends (and more) that have their own thoughts and ideas that delve beyond it. Also I think another contributing factor as it depicts how some people would imagine a childhood best friend. For example Hifumi and Naoya in their own language you could say, and speak about all the mundane things of their past to really sell it. They are more than the sum of their parts. Engaging with each woman's events and dates is amazing, sensual, and down to earth. It felt a 'little bit' real. I felt nothing but happiness for Noaya and Yuyu for their route, and never did I see myself as him. Naoyas happiness is his own, I just got the stats required for him to get it. Man I can't express my thoughts well. ART- I have no complaints for the pixel art style, its a breath of fresh air (to me) to the standard detailed anime woman drawn on a 'puter or tablet. The artists did a fantastic job. Be sure to follow them on twitter and support them via commission! They did a job well done! The game would be better with more CGs and character art for sure though, but hey you can't rush art. Music- ITS PRETTY GOOD! Sets the tone well and it doesn't get annoying either despite a song repeatedly playing on a loop, but hey thats just me. Sorry I don't have much to write here, I didn't really put all much thought when listening to music or trying to describe it. Thoughts - While there is some inconsistency with the story and events, I wouldn't say its a dealbreaker but it kind of interrupts the flow of the overall time and story that is told in the game. Example: I could be well into the game and see that Hifumi has changed, but when I see her first event after an in game year, it doesn't connect with the current timeline. I'm not sure how that could be fixed but I don't have any problems with it personally. -Achievements would be nice but I understand that time crunch is a thing, if it were to be added in the future that would be pretty nice as well as cloud save - MORE ART PLEASE! - Being able to delete old saves as they clutter the save book - I was thinking more music tracts as well, but they wouldn't be necessary I believe, the music is fine as it is. To support the game more, I would like to buy a downloadable soundtrack. - Yes this is a GTS-oriented game, its for freaky people like me who enjoy the genre. And I'm glad this game wasn't just very lewd fetish game, like one you would see on a Japanese DLsite. I'm glad I this VN came out and I hope for more content by the team in the future. - I hope the team makes a Big Beautiful Women PART 2. It could take place in the same city but with different characters. Thank you RakuenSoft team and thank you Gaben for having this game on Steam! I hope for nothing but success for you guys (Gaben included)
