Quite funny, the reason I bought this game in 2015 was because around that time, I watched a theatre play called Betrayal by Harold Pinter and liked it. So when I saw an almost the same title on Steam on sale for $2.99 I decided to give it a try. I had a vague memory of this game and remembered that I wasn’t into it back then, I mostly just farmed trading cards. I decided to try it again and see whether my thoughts had changed after all these years and all the games I’ve played. Well honestly, not much changed. The only thing worth mentioning is the day/night shift looks interesting when you strike the bell. And that’s about it. The gameplay has you wandering around a large map, collecting pieces of notes and trying to figure out who those ghosts people are, what happened to them and return their lost memories. However, the notes are too random. You may pick up 4 lines from 4 different stories and none of them is particularly interesting, just sad deaths, sudden incidents, family misfortunes. To get through each world, you have to do a lot of tedious walking with the same enemies appearing along the way, and there’s no leveling up. You only have 2-3 weapons to choose from, they’re expensive, and the rewards after difficult fights are minimal. When I finally make it to the next area it’s more of the same: same kind of landscape, the same scavenger hunt for note tied to another uninteresting story. I didn’t leave a rating when I first played it in 2015, and now 11 years later, I hesitate to rate it. Part of me wants to rate it positively for old times’ sake, and because of the relatively low price I paid even the enjoyment I got from it was very limited. Well, at least the movement feels smooth. So in the end, this is a Mixed rate disguised as a positive. My curator page

Unfortunately, this classic didn't do it for me. Kind of un-intuitive and overstays it's welcome.
It's okay, but has a lot of crappy parts. Combat is a joke. It's supposed to be stealthy, but enemies spot you too easily. I never even understood how the stealth mechanic was supposed to work. I guess wind makes it so you can move without being detected, but honestly if you tried to stealth this game it would take forever. So instead it's just a matter of you living longer than the enemies. You'll end up cheesing fights by running to a health refill station for the few big fights you have to do because of how ridiculous they are. As others have said it's super repetitive, you do the same things over and over again, and then you have to backtrack throughout the world multiple times to finish up. They should have just targeted three hours of gameplay instead of seven. Oh and the game crashes like mad. You have to turn the graphics settings down to prevent crashes between loading screens, and just to keep the game going longer without a crash in general. I can't imagine anyone trying to speedrun this game because it would crash too often. I heard save games can get wiped too, luckily that never happened to me, but I was paranoid and started backing up the save files just in case. So why do I give this a thumbs up with all the bad I said? Well, it's a mid game. It's not really that bad and it's kinda fun so I'm not going to say don't play it, apparently it's a free game now (but not on Steam) so you might as well try it.
Graphics are a nice touch. I like the feel they bring to the game. The game is interesting and fun. I also like the wind.
blackpowder come back to life and fix your dog excrement unreal asset flip game please
I can ONLY recommend this to people who don't mind tedious repetitious gameplay. The gameplay is tight and the story is interesting enough but there are SEVEN maps to clear. In each map you have to find multiple Clues, Notes, Chests, Wraiths, Shadows, and Totems (of which you have to cleanse by beating a small swarm of enemies). After the first map, I had sampled all there was; ok sure there are more enemy types and better versions of the 3 weapon types but clearing that map wasn't fun; I won't be doing it another 6 times. If you have nothing better to play, then play it. It is well made for what it is.
Very simple single player game with a good ol' fashioned detective/sleuthing story line. On one hand, the combat is simple enough to get the hang of quickly. On the other, it gets very repetitive after a while, especially all the running around. The game has crashed on me several times while loading into an area but that may just be my PC being old. All in all, it's a good way to kill a few hours. I like the noir aspect where it's all "black and white and red all over".
