This game is very sweet and well written. I feel every character’s struggles are made to feel realistic and, sometimes, too real. The pacing is smooth, although it takes multiple replays to really learn the best steps to take. Sometimes it’s not very clear what you’re supposed to do in order to trigger the next event, which takes me to the biggest flaw this game has. It needs to be replayed, over and over again in order to have certain events from other characters to trigger something in the story you’re playing. I find that a tad boring and repetitive. I’ve also found a lot of moments when the dialog was suddenly in French. It’s not a big deal but it does break a bit of the immersion. I honestly really liked this game, but I do have to add that this is the second time I buy it. I tried playing it in Switch first, but there were so many game breaking bugs that I had to repurchase it for PC. Not a huge deal, considering the price, but still annoying.
Multi-path stories sim Using various types of stat values in each story, the player can manipulate how the story goes. Ruin the character’s life or make it as best as it can be. Praises • Emma’s story path gives some insight into the type of bullsh*t women put up with in a male-dominated workplace. • Paul’s story path demonstrates how ridiculously corrupt and hypocritical politicians are. • There is a decent amount of diversity among all the characters of the game. • The game made me chuckle a couple of times. Complaints • Lots of typos. A few sections of text left untranslated from French. Some awkward translations to English. • Imbalanced elements in gameplay. • Jenny’s story path is boring. I had so little motivation to finish it because there was nothing interesting about it. It seems like it was supposed to be about bullying and dealing with college, except bullying is rare in college; that’s more of a k-12 thing. Regardless, the point of it was just so poorly-written and weak. • (Possible Bug) During Jenny’s story path, it is not even remotely obvious how you’re supposed to inform Hamim about Mika’s internship. There are no options for it anywhere, then the two friends get upset because the event never occurs. • (Bug) During Jenny’s path, it seems like there isn’t a way to stop Mika from committing the prank, even though on the branch map, it insinuates there is. • (Bug) On Jenny’s path, the revision notes do not refresh for a new playthrough, making it impossible to know how many the player actually has for that playthrough. They do not stack through playthroughs. • While Paul’s story path addresses the importance of environmentalism, it does the typical mistake of putting the responsibility mostly on general individuals rather than the billionaires whose industries are almost entirely responsible for climate change. Furthermore, the socialist politician character in his story would’ve made that point by arguing that eliminating capitalism would absolutely lead to better environmentalism and she unrealistically makes no such argument. (I am not suggesting people should stop individually doing things that help the environment. I am just pointing out that if you want to stop the planet from burning up in a few generations, the only way to do that is to stop the billionaires and their industries. There is no other way, because it is literally them killing the planet with their industries.) • (Bug) Jordan’s story path seems entirely messed up because in order for him to confess that he’s gay to people, he needs enough morale, but he never has enough for what is required and there is seemingly no way to increase the max amount of morale. It’s just 3. I can’t tell if the bug is that there are suppose to be more or that the method of increasing the max morale is not presenting itself. But yeah, it’s impossible to confess to anyone. Considering the game was released in 2021 and there are several improvements that need to be made, I can’t recommend the game. It’s a cool concept, but executed poorly. It is seemingly impossible to get a lot of the achievements.
It is essentially a worker placement game. You have a limited amount of time each day to choose between different activities. The writing is cute but needs to be localized better. (The English Version anyway.) I like the art style and the fun music. The issues being raised are interesting as well. Definitely worth checking out the demo at least. If you like it, buy it! https://youtu.be/q1yQBxNXiZ0
Very unique decision based game. There are several individuals to choose from, and each campaign will take about 2-4 hours to get through. Choosing the right decisions will effect the story in your favor. You also need to keep your morale points up, and there's a convo meter which will help you speak up around certain people. It's basically a life simulator, but a fun one at that. The story really got me invested, and it makes you want to get the best ending for each individuals. In the game you can also make calls to your friends and colleagues, buy some energy drinks to keep your energy up. That is basically the most important thing you could do keep your energy up, because every that you do in the game requires energy. When you fall asleep you will replenish your energy. Then do everything all over again. It kinda made me laugh how repetitive life can be sometimes. This game has a charm, and i totally recommend it to everyone. I've also loved decision based games where one thing can lead another. These type of games are just engaging and fun. Best day ever is a fun one, and hopefully more people gets to check it out!
Very fun resource/life management game. Each character has its own objectives and struggles and it takes quite a bit of effort to give them their "best day ever". There's a lot of replayability as each choice will affect the story and will also require some optimisation to have enough resources to pick the right choices. Another good point is the possibility to be somewhat evil, like with Emma where you can make a terrible product and the goal becomes to not be caught by your boss. Overall a very good indie game that more people should try.
Bummer... I was so hyped about this game! Playing the Demo was great. However, the actual game failed to launch properly on my pc (Windows 10). After about 2 hours spent trying to find any working solution, I've just requested for a refund. UPDATE: The team of developers reacted fast to my report and fixed the problem just within a couple of days, offering the code as their apology. WHAT A FANTASTIC WORK! Great story-lines and multiple-choice dialogues done nicely, everything seems well-thought-out and made with care. Mainly, I like the idea that all protagonists can intersect each other, and also a “chirp” panel with funny “chirps” aka “twitts highlighting the game's milestones. Some rare non-translated parts from French do not bother me since I understand a little French, but it might be an issue for those who play the English version, though. Hope, the developers will fix this asap as well... In general, I totally recommend this game, especially to someone who likes decision-based stories framed into a social context. Well done!
