Bell & Hoof isn’t quite a hidden gem — more like a semi-polished stone you find on a walk and decide to keep for a bit. You play as a mellow cow wandering through a golden field, collecting a few bells. There’s no combat, no puzzles, and honestly… not much else. The visuals are warm and cozy, and for the first few minutes, the slow pace and peaceful atmosphere work. But the constant clunk of the cowbell quickly wears thin, and once the novelty fades, you're mostly just walking… and walking. Then, out of nowhere, I found myself inside the cow. Don’t ask — it was weirdly profound and mildly disturbing. Oh, and there were flying chickens. That part might’ve been the highlight. Still, for a free game that lasts under 10 minutes, it’s a nice little boredom breaker. If you enjoy lo-fi surrealism, gentle fields, and the idea of becoming one with a bovine, you might get something out of it — just don’t expect it to moove you deeply.

could be goodish, but it looks like a ai generated micro scuffed project https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3516988097
I really regret having to leave a negative review for a game, particularly for one which is free, but, other than the very nice piano music (the soothing quality of which is lost to the single tone clanging bell sound), I couldn't find anything to enjoy or to relax to in the walking simulator Bell & Hoof. The scenery was not pretty or varied enough, there were no other ambient sounds (e.g. wind, birds, or water), there were graphical hitches (e.g hens walking on water, and the camera suddenly being inside the cow e.g by the edge of the gate), scaling oddities (hens apparently as big as the cow and towering fences on the hill), a hard to find way up the first hill gradient, and no apparent purpose for eating carrots or collecting bells - perhaps each collected bell could have changed the clanging sound, even building up a melody of bells?). Sadly, even 11 minutes seemed like time lost for little reward.
A bell sound for every single step taken kinda ruins what could be a really cosy quiet game. Less bell more peaceful. 6 minutes was more than enough bell for me. Everything else is a nice slice of life as a cow vibe.
10 minutes promised, 10 minutes delivered. I left that game a changed person.
