Become the Moon has one of my favourite game soundtracks of all time, I love the graphic style so much I've had the title image as my desktop wallpaper for a few months. I've been plugging away at it, happily, for many hours, ignoring the occasional complaint from my back-brain that something's not quite right. What I find is that it takes a long time of playing a game that I'm actually enjoying before the back-brain actually reels off its analysis. Well, a couple of days ago that happened with this one, and its left me hovering over the delete button, after a few more goes just to make sure that's exactly what I'm doing. Become the Moon boils down to this, for me: i) It's extremely heavy on RNG, way beyond the point where a run can be saved if the stars don't start aligning within the first few skirmishes. ii) There is a very limited number of builds which are actually going to work, getting those builds together in a single run is a rarity. iii) There are one or two too many limits on the player in order to achieve something resembling a balanced game, git gud or not. There's only a few ways of getting star cards, the ones used to manipulate the deck and make insane builds. Your character has a low level limit (levels determine how much you can do per round and gaining a level is the only way to 'draw' new cards into your deck), there is a card which pushes the level up one at a time, but you have to draw that particular card during your run or you're buggered. Add these to enemies with massive stats and powerful effects like death-touch at the tail-end of each run, a limited number of turns to actually build your minions up and a stack of useless cards and you've got a mountain to climb. I've given up, sadly, on to pastures new.
Amazing game! The characters are all vastly different and really make you puzzle out how to get their mechanic work but still feels like there's build variety within each. If you're familiar with other card games then the keywords will all make sense to you
One of the best deck builders I've played for the long time
It's different, I can't say if its different good or different bad but I still think about the game sometimes after playing it and I'm interested in more runs to try things out so has to be more good than bad. Weird little thing though but on a decent sale? I doubt you'd hate it enough to refund it or anything.
Very fun deck builder with unique gameplay. Pretty challenging, so every win feels rewarding.
Excelente juego, lo conocí en la demo de Opera GX y estuve esperando tener un dispositivo para jugarlo, vale completamente la pena

Hearthstone Battlegrounds turned into a roguelike deckbuilder. As a huge fan of Hearthstone’s battlegrounds, I simply could not ignore this game. On top of that, the art style fits perfectly with my taste for a cartoon atmosphere The core of the game is really interesting, especially the mechanic of exhausting your deck in order to gain new, better cards. Because of that, drawing or removing cards is not just a single action, but also a way to get closer to obtaining new cards. I really like this approach, as it allows you to manipulate what you need at a given moment in an interesting way The card and deck management itself is well thought out, and the cards interact with each other in a fun way, creating action chains and synergies. This is further supported by the items you collect along the way. There are a few specific builds you can guide your deck toward, and despite the relatively small number of cards in the game, it still offers a well-designed pool for experimenting with different builds and characters And this is where the downsides begin, because on one hand we have a really fun deckbuilder part, but on the other hand there are repetitive and sometimes overpowered enemies. The way enemies work in this game is its weakest point. I can say that they are designed in an interesting way, and they do differ from one another, but they are fixed and sometimes completely counter your build. I do not understand the intention behind adding some enemies, such as that huge guy with deathtouch in the final fight. It is a completely pointless instant-kill mechanic Additionally, some abilities feel like fun breakers. For example, I had a card that allowed me to take an enemy unit as my own. During one fight, there was an enemy with around 1000 hp who was losing health because of the mechanics of other units. I thought I would take him for myself, since my deck worked differently. I could not have been more wrong, because the stolen character cost too much to ever play during the game. This is just one example of a moment that broke the fun for me Despite that, I had a lot of fun playing Become the Moon. Nice visuals, a great feel, and interesting synergies all worked together really well. There is also an extra plus for achievement enjoyers because the bosses are repetitive, you can play around achievements in a satisfying way and build strategies for specific enemies
Gosto mto desse autobattler porque ele é solo então eu só preciso me preocupar em melhorar meu jogo, não melhorar o "meta".
