Tero Lunkka has a six year history at this time of uploading complete garbage asset cobbled together crap up on Steam. This title is no exception to their factory of Unreal asset trash flooding these Steam pages on a regular basis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtHr3CH8KeU Let's take a look at just some of the major malfunctions with this title: - No settings at all, you can't even lower the volume - Enemies disappear into thin air when shot - Big empty free forest map found on the Unreal marketplace - Invisible walls galore - Motion Blur that can't be turned off because again this game has NO settings at all - No goal, No point to the game - Ammo is placed hanging in mid air Here are some of the "positive things" about this game: - It can quickly be uninstalled to free up the 25 GB of hard drive space it requires to install - You'll NEVER be able to put more than two hours into this trash, so you can DEFINITELY request a refund! Yeah.... * yawns * NOT RECOMMENDED. MY SCORE IS THE AMOUNT OF BRAIN CELLS IT REQUIRES TO AVOID THIS PURCHASE: ZERO.
Warning: Asset Flip!
Beat The Devil is a Digital Homicide style Unity asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unreal Engine Marketplace asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers. It's important to also note the "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. Tero Lunkka/Valkeala Software have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Aliens Dont Exist" = Alien Character - Free Sprite developed by Craftpix
"Fancy the Frog" = Pixel Adventure 1 developed by Pixel Frog
"Nash Racing" = Advanced Tuning Cars developed by James Novih
"Nash Racing 2" = Advanced Tuning Cars developed by James Novih
"Survival Isolation" = Easy Survival RPG v3 developed by Easy Systems
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The options menu for the game doesn't do anything, the "developer" didn't bother filling it out while he was busy taking other people's work and pretending it was his own, for profit. As a result, there's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The same is true for audio, and the controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. The game looks ugly due to incompetent use of Unreal native quality settings and filters, and there's no way to adjust those or clean up the asset flipped visuals. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. That's right, only 3. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason. It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk. Beat The Devil has the almost scam-like price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk.
If doom eternal was epic and cheaper
Quite fun and Fast moving FPS, with couple bugs. Easy Achievements, 100% / ~60Min.

If you go into the game with the mindset that this isn't a AAA game but instead someones project that they worked on and you're looking to kill some time, it's an OK game. I do think the price tag is a little high for what you get though, not to mention this game is 25GB (!!!). It's fun getting the achievements but other than that it has very basic game play, limited settings, very VERY basic level design, and a few different weapons to play with. I'd rate it 4/10.
I refuse to believe the dev ever played their own game.
