About
Palo Pori is a beautiful and peaceful village of artisans and tastemakers. Beyond the village’s protective wall, darkness has begun to stir. Ravenous monsters have claimed the land and threaten to sink their teeth into this final morsel of hope and happiness.
Play as Panko, a young, talented chef, helping to run the local eatery. When Panko’s teacher goes missing, a mysterious visitor arrives with warnings of the dangers beyond the wall. It's up to Panko to step up and take over the restaurant and tend to the ingredients and patrons. But that’s not all, Panko also finds himself serving the Caretakers, brave adventurers, sent to save the world. In this adventure, preserving peace starts in the kitchen!

In Palo Pori, fresh is best! Gather ingredients and resources, care for animals and grow your own fruit and veg to build up your very own cozy town to table restaurant. Forage for wild herbs and unlock new seeds to grow to expand your meals.

Chop, flip, and sizzle your way through mouthwatering mini-games as you whip up delightful dishes for the townsfolk. Good food is always better with company, so work hard to improve your cooking and experiment with ingredients, to keep your patrons happy.
Tailor your restaurant to the tastes of your community, develop new meals, progress your know how through a skill tree and adjust the decor to increase your restaurant’s appeal.

You’ll also need to feed the hungry Caretakers; these brave denizens of the land will venture out into the wilds to fight the ravenous monsters threatening the peace of Palo Pori. Each Caretaker hails from their own flavour region, affecting their own tastes and preferences: some like it bitter, some like it sweet and some are just looking to fulfil their craving of the day! Craft thoughtful meals and balance the flavour profiles to boost their spirits, sharpen their skills, and unlock new abilities. Because let’s face it… Who can save the world on an empty stomach?

Now it’s time to put your meal to the test! This is where taste meets tactics. The dishes you serve will build your Caretaker’s deck – each ingredient unlocking a card. And once they’ve eaten, they’ll venture into the wilds to fight the monsters. Upon their return, they’ll recount their journey and play out their battles through a charming puppet theatre sequence. They might even bring you back some MONSTEROUS ingredients from their ventures. Fight the monsters in turn-based deck building combat, inspired by traditional trick-taking card games. Outplay the monsters, by matching their flavour magic or neutralising it with a balancing card. Add an enhancing card to power up your moves! Your magic can turn the tables!
Utilize the unique effects of your ingredients to put your enemies to sleep, blow away their cards, and more, but watch out, you’re not the only one with special abilities. If you’re not paying attention, you might get burned.
In this food-based fantasy adventure, it’s time to give peas a chance! - Are you ready to get cooking?
Unlock the magic in food.

this game is actually incredible i had so much fun the entire time
Best game I played in 2 years, wish it was longer
Beastro is a super fun game where you can cook, fish, and gather items! I really enjoythe card-playing aspect, where you have to learn and collect items to help yourself. I wont say its perfect for eveyone, as some players might find it repetitive. However, what sets this game apart is that ever in game day brings something new to do or a new task, keeping you engaged. While collecting iteams can be a bit tedious, thats what makes ir enjoyable- you get to serve items and receive help letter on. my rating for the game is 10/10 but keep in mind that is my experience might differ from someone else
Such a sweet and cozy game!
Um equílibrio entre cozy game e deck builder, acessível para iniciantes e visualmente muito agradável.
Really loved playing through this game. Mechanics were a fun different way to play an RPG, but after a bit you get the hang of it. The music was really good and didn't mind the lack of variety. Would have enjoyed more if the story was more complex/longer, but still spent 20 hours on it and would highly recommend to others.
I'll admit I didn't think I would enjoy this game, going in; while I enjoy cozy games, I think the genre has become so oversaturated that "cozy" on its own is becoming a nothing term, a general aesthetic that hides the total lack of substance in too many overpriced games. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that Beastro is a great game, on top of being "cozy"; the core loop is solid, but simple enough that it doesn't take long to master. (For reference, after only 15 hours I've beaten the game, having gone into the final boss knowing exactly how to counter anything they could attempt.) On top of that, the characters were quite well written, and the town we play in is quaint without feeling claustrophobic. At $20 for around 15 hours- though I assume 20 hours if you try to get everything- of gameplay, it might not be for everyone, but Beastro is definitely a game worth checking out, even if you wait for a sale or get it through a bundle.
Very cozy game with many strengths. None of the game loops ever felt tedious or forced. Very cool looking graphics, and a fun play all in all!
Very cute game! Just finished and I had a great time. Music and visuals spot on. Late game seemed to stall a little bit since i had tons of money and was just grinding a little bit to complete the other achievements but overall very very relaxing.
An adorable gardening-deckbuilding fusion of Inscryption and Animal Crossing
I was really looking forward to this game, and I had a great time playing it. Although it’s not perfect, it’s a lovely experience and I’d recommend it, with certain make-or-break caveats depending on your taste. You’re told you can prep as much or as little as you want for the combat, but 10+ minutes of the same prep before you even enter the restaurant (and build your deck) feels mandatory for every single day, especially for rarer ingredients and especially at the start of the game. I wasn’t super bothered by it, but I also play in 30-90 minute bursts; it can definitely feel tedious if you play for multiple in-game days in a row. There’s way more emphasis on the gardening and prep work than the deckbuilding aspect. You have one chance a day to build a deck. If that’s your cup of tea, this gardening-deckbuilder might be great for you! However, if you’re looking for a gardening-DECKBUILDER, I don’t think you’ll enjoy it. The combat is more about winning flavor rock-paper-scissors and having bigger numbers instead of tailoring your build and effects to a unique style. I also intentionally left out “cooking” in the gardening-deckbuilder fusion description. The cooking takes way less time than any other part of the game. Compared to prep’s 10-15 minutes and combat’s 10-20, your daily cooking takes less than 2 minutes. Even though cooking is literally core to the story, in gameplay, it feels minimally impactful. You make all your patrons’ foods in one go and spend 60 seconds delivering them all, and then that’s it. The only other game mechanic with cooking is ingredient Tetris for the caretaker. In the game’s current state, the replayability is pretty limited. The maps never change, so you’ll almost always get exactly what you expect every time you venture out. It can get pretty repetitive. I hope more content gets added in the future, even if not an official story mode! All that being said, I do really like the game. It’s very much a cozy game with relaxed vibes and an adorable aesthetic that I really want to see more of. It has its flaws, but they aren’t deal-breakers for me and don’t majorly inhibit me having a good time. I’ve also made a quick list of my pros and cons. Pros: - Adorable art styles and designs for the characters (with some minor personal customization available) - Unique gameplay loop and mechanics - You can pet the animals - Cute story - I love that every food has its own 3D render. It’s always a treat to cook something new and see it come to life before serving it Pro or con, depending: - Heavy emphasis on gardening and caring for your animals - Maps are the same every time; no random generation - 3 playable deckbuilding characters Cons: - Extremely limited replayability - You’re locked out of your save after finishing the game* (there are workarounds by continuing at your last save and losing the final battle, but this isn’t clearly stated) - No way to save besides returning home in puppet show combat. I lost 20 minutes of progress after getting soft-locked for no reason after a regular enemy combat. I feel like you should at least be able to save your progress at mid-map campsites, even if you want to continue on the adventure. - Gathering ingredients in town can be very tedious, especially since navigating the town can feel confusing (the map isn’t helpful when you don’t know what direction you’re facing) - Helpful features such as ingredient fetching are easily overlooked or difficult to locate in town - The dialogue system is a bit buggy and doesn’t always show the correct character - Most townspeople have very little characterization and are more set dressing than people. All they do is repeat one line and order food. Considering how small the town is, I was expecting a bit more substance from the limited characters we have.
