Beast Boxing Turbo

Simple yet enjoyable little game. The combat system is not complex at all, consisting of only a few attack and defence mechanics. Yet is engaging enough to be a decent challenge at later levels, that also involves some level of strategy to progress. This complimented with a short and sweet story of fantasy world where a young woman (the player) boxes various beasts to climb the ranks of the bizarre alien boxing world to become the new undisputed champion. This coupled with the addition of new game plus , which allows you to increase the difficulty of the game every time you beat it which can be done infinity. Whilst also featuring the endless mode where you fight opponents until you lose and can track your score on the leader board that features a friends and global score tab. Unfortunately, there is no online or 1vs1 one function that would of really made this game even greater. Besides that the only gripe I have is at later levels some of the opponents seem to always have the first hit if you cross through them, even if you spam a jab as they or you move near each other. Which removes some of the dynamism from the combat and forces you to only rely on blocking in those situations. Besides that this a well rounded indie game with a gorgeous retro aesthetic, that you can always come back too. As it doesn't require a lot to pick up and play. Perfect when you have some time to spare, or just chatting with your mates online.
